Chapter 697: Trusting Fengye is, of course, a better option.
Chapter 697: Trusting Fengye is, of course, a better option.
A shrill scream pierced the air from Fengye's room.
Elsa, sleeping in the living room and other bedrooms, along with Jubia and the others, were all startled awake.
After a brief moment of confusion, they quickly got up and rushed to Fengye's bedroom door.
Peering inside, they saw Mira, her teeth clenched and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She stood with one leg raised, wearing white over-the-knee socks, trying to stomp on Fengye's face.
"You jerk! Pervert! You've gone too far!" Mira exclaimed.
Fengye raised his left hand to stop her, grabbing her ankle mid-air, and said nonchalantly, "And now you're playing the victim."
Mira bit her lip and struggled forcefully but couldn't break free. She swung her fist at Fengye.
Fengye, annoyed, lifted her by the ankle, leaving her dangling in the air. Her fist fell short, unable to reach him.
Elsa, Jubia, and Lisana, standing at the doorway, watched with wide eyes, unsure of what to make of the situation.
Seeing that Mira was clearly at a disadvantage and unable to gain the upper hand, even with her magic suppressed by Fengye, Lisana tentatively asked, "Umm... what exactly happened here...?"
"Who knows what she sneaked into my room to do last night, and then she made a ruckus this morning," Fengye explained, holding Mira by her foot and hoisting her upside down. He extended his arm, ensuring she couldn't reach him no matter how she squirmed. He glanced at Lisana and stuck out his tongue.
"You obviously took advantage of me while I was sleeping and brought me to your room!" Mira accused, flailing her arms. "You pervert! You Lolita complex!"
"...” Fengye glanced at her expressionlessly, then casually tossed her into the corner of the room. With a flick of his finger, a golden aura transformed into a rope, instantly binding and restraining Mira against the wall.
After securing Mira, Fengye shrugged and said, "I have magic surveillance set up in my room. I can play the recording from last night at any time, but I think you all can judge for yourselves anyway."
Lisana and Jubia nodded silently in response to Fengye's statement, their movements perfectly synchronized.
"Big sister sure is bold when she's drunk," Lisana commented.
"What did you do to Fengye?! I feel so guilty for falling asleep too early and not stopping you, Jubia!" Jubia berated herself.
"Fengye wouldn't like a witch like you," Elsa added.
"I... I think Mira didn't mean to..." Wendy spoke up timidly.
Without even needing to review the surveillance footage from the previous night, the girls unanimously confirmed the truth, which brought Fengye some relief.
Mira, bound in the corner, opened her mouth to speak but then directed her gaze at Lisana. "Lisana! You don't believe me either?!"
"I... I believe you didn't mean to..." Lisana mumbled, scratching the back of her head and averting her eyes, unable to meet Mira's gaze as she spoke softly.
"You..." Mira felt like she had raised a fake little sister.
Fengye looked up at the ceiling and summoned a magic ball with a casual gesture. He tossed it to Mira in the corner and said, "See for yourself. Alright, Elsa, Jubia, let's go prepare breakfast."
After producing the surveillance magic ball from the previous night and giving it to Mira, Fengye left the room with Elsa and the others.
"Well, well, the drunken troublemaker who plays the victim is finally out," Elsa remarked nonchalantly.
Mira had changed into a new set of clothes and tied her hair up with a cute bow, but her expression remained that of a tough gang leader as she glared at Elsa. "Mind your own business, you red-haired freak!"
Elsa let out a soft humph. "Fengye is someone we all deeply respect. I can't just stand by if you do something inappropriate."
"Then bring it on!" Mira clenched her small fists, looking eager for a fight, and lifted her chin. "Come at me directly!"
Elsa coldly humphed and lifted her left hand, mana swirling around her. "That's exactly what I intend to do."
Swish! Swish!
Before the two could cast their transformation and costume change magic, Fengye walked out of the kitchen, pointed his hand, and two golden ropes shot out. They coiled around Elsa and Mira dozens of times, binding them up like mummies.
"I told you yesterday not to wreck the place," Fengye said, glancing at Elsa. "You still owe me money, Elsa. You have to compensate me if you break anything."
Elsa opened her mouth, but no words came out. She was defeated in both body and mind.
Fengye turned to Mira. "Do you want to show everyone what happened just now, Mira?"
Mira opened and closed her mouth, her face turning red with embarrassment and defeat.
After getting Elsa and Mira to behave, Fengye released the binding magic, and they all sat down to eat breakfast together.
A moment later, after finishing their breakfast, Elsa and Mira simultaneously rushed out of Fengye's villa and ran towards the guild.
"Big sister and Elsa sure are in a hurry," Lisana said helplessly, spreading her hands.
Wendy looked at their retreating figures with concern. "Are they going to fight?"
"No... I think they're preparing for their S-Class Mage promotion," Fengye replied with a casual smile. "They're both strong enough to participate in this year's S-Class Mage promotion assessment, but to be included on the list, they need to have completed enough missions, and it seems they haven't quite met the requirement yet."
Wendy blinked, her large eyes sparkling with admiration. "S-Class Mages... Big sister Elsa and Mira are so amazing."
Jubia pouted, looking a little dejected. "I want to take the assessment too, but no matter how many missions I do, it doesn't seem to be enough."
Fengye patted her on the head gently. "You're still too green, Jubia."
In more ways than one.
Whether it was age, magical power, combat judgment, or situational awareness, the 13-year-old Jubia lagged far behind the 15-year-old Elsa and Mira.
Wendy gave Jubia an adorable look. "Jubia needs to work harder, big sister."
"Yeah..." Jubia nodded.
Fengye waved his hand, sending the tableware back into the kitchen, then stood up and stretched. "You should indeed train more. Alright, let's go for our morning exercise!"
