Chapter 695: Submission Force
Chapter 695: Submission Force
Qi Qianyang perched atop the giant bird, flying eastward out of the Central City. After an hour over the ocean, they reached an island.
The bird gradually descended, and when it was a few dozen meters above the ground, Qi Qianyang stood up and leaped from the air.
Below, on a large reef by the sea, stood a man in his late thirties, an instructor from the Swamp Training Camp. He glanced at Qi Qianyang's arm and asked, "Did it work?"
Qi Qianyang turned his head to look, and from his once limp arm came a series of cracking sounds. The skin and bones beneath were gradually realigning and healing. After a few minutes, his arm was completely restored.
He clenched his fingers, feeling the sensations from the adaptive organism, and nodded. "It worked."
Qi Qianyang had cultivated the 'Submission Force', one of the three secret techniques of the Pure Sect. This force allowed him to regulate various parts of his body, and with deep practice, he could coordinate every minute detail of the adaptive organism within, unleashing his full life potential.
The Submission Force had a unique characteristic: if one endured an opponent's force or was injured by a particular force, and then recovered within a certain time, their adaptive organism could withstand and adapt to that force.
The next time they faced an enemy, such forces would cause significantly less harm, or even none at all.
Qi Qianyang's provocation of Chen Chuan was calculated. He had planned to endure Chen Chuan's force, aiming to defeat him.
Although there was some strategy involved, Qi Qianyang saw nothing wrong with it. In combat, one must use every available method, and the ultimate goal was always to defeat the opponent. Moreover, his force dictated that this approach was the safest and most suitable for him.
The instructor on the reef spoke up, "Instructor Qi, you succeeded, but your actions were too obvious. That opponent might guess your intentions from your actions."
"It doesn't matter if they know," Qi Qianyang dismissed the concern. "I've taken the initiative. How could they hastily cultivate another force?"
The instructor agreed but still felt Qi Qianyang's approach was too crude and lacked finesse.
To support Qi Qianyang, they had sacrificed a Third Limit Fighter from the training camp, and two more were still not fully recovered.
Such individuals were rare, with only a handful produced by the camp in fifteen years. A well-planned strategy could have achieved the same goal with less risk and loss. Qi Qianyang's impulsiveness disregarded the well-being of others and the costs they bore.
"Instructor Qi, I must remind you to value the trainees," the instructor said. "They were nurtured by the teacher, and while they're under our command now, you should cherish them, not treat them as expendable."
Qi Qianyang scoffed, "They're meant to be used. I know they face danger, but why should I consider their welfare? I'm their master; they must obey my commands."
The instructor shook his head, "The teacher wouldn't approve of your attitude."
At the mention of the teacher, a hint of reverence appeared in Qi Qianyang's expression. He replied with irritation, "Don't bring up the teacher. When I was with him, you weren't even around."
Qi Qianyang seemed disinclined to continue the conversation. He turned and walked away, then paused after a few steps, "Wait and see. Once I expel the Pure Sect's branch, the teacher will approve of my actions."
The instructor watched him leave, shaking his head. "Instructor Qi, you don't understand. The teacher's thoughts are not so narrow-minded."
After leaving the Handling Bureau, Chen Chuan immediately drove to the Wei Guang District to meet with Chang Dong and Gao Yanjun. He shared his recent encounter.
Chang Dong said, "That person caused such a ruckus just to challenge you, Chen Manager."
Chen Chuan reflected, "I believe the designated battle location is somewhere in the Fusion Zone."
"He wants the home-field advantage," Chang Dong concluded.
But after further thought, Chang Dong disagreed, "That doesn't make sense. If that were the case, there's no need to come to me personally. There must be another motive."
Suddenly, Chang Dong noticed a detail he had almost overlooked. His expression changed as he looked at Chen Chuan and then at Gao Yanjun, "I think I know what he's up to."
He took a deep breath and composed himself. "That person learned many of our Pure Sect's secrets. His primary cultivation is the Submission Force, a secret technique that can be practiced by fighters and has subsequent advanced training methods. He might have taught this force to Qi Qianyang."
Chang Dong then explained the characteristics of this force. After finishing, he solemnly warned Chen Chuan, "Your force has likely been endured and adapted to by him. Be extremely cautious if you encounter him again."
Chen Chuan listened intently, now understanding the other party's elaborate preparations and their arrangement for an escape route. It made sense if that was the case.
As for Percival Harford, it might have been a coincidence. He could tell that Qi Qianyang's gaze held a hint of recklessness, almost as if he was about to do whatever he pleased without a second thought.
If that was the case, it could only be blamed on Harford for appearing at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Regarding the other party's power, Chen Chuan wasn't particularly worried. Zhou Yuan's power could be transformed into various energy techniques, making it the least susceptible to being countered by a single method.
Moreover, even if the submission force was incredibly profound, it had its limits. Under greater strength and speed, even the same energy technique would exhibit varying levels of power.
Chen Chuan said, "Our Pure Sect's secret technique? I'd like to experience such power."
Virtuous Zone, Underground Station, 4:40 PM.
Xu Chan carried a box as he stepped out of the elevator, heading towards the train parked ahead. Behind him followed three individuals, all wearing specialized protective shields.
This time, as they entered the Fusion Zone, the upper echelons had assigned him three team leaders, each with two team members, forming a ten-person squad.
Among them was one person from the Handling Bureau, two from the Defense Department, and all, including the squad members, were highly experienced in the Fusion Zone.
All three team leaders mastered Heart Power, but Spiritual Sense was a technique only possessed by those with exceptional talent. Currently, only Xu Chan in the squad had achieved this.
However, their ten-person squad was just the main force, supported by an entire team. This operation had gathered a substantial number of elite forces.
Upon reaching the Fusion Zone's base, the front section of the route would be escorted by the military, with logistical support from the base.
So, for the initial part of the journey, they need not worry, but once they ventured deeper into the Fusion Zone, things would be different. There, they would receive no support and rely solely on themselves.
The group boarded the train and settled into the soft chairs.
Xu Chan checked the time; the train would depart in ten minutes. Just then, the dimensional token rang, and he tapped it, "Specialist?"
Specialist Liang's voice sounded, "Old Xu, I've arranged for the message to be sent to the Pioneer Squad ahead. If they receive it, perhaps they can help you."
"Thank you, Specialist," Xu Chan replied.
The Pioneer Squad members were undoubtedly highly skilled and very familiar with the Fusion Zone. However, once they ventured deeper, it became challenging to receive messages, and they had their tasks, so this could only be a backup option.
"Old Xu, be careful," Specialist Liang warned.
"Understood," Xu Chan acknowledged.
After the call ended, a while passed, and with a few short horn blasts, the train beneath them slowly started moving towards the Fusion Zone.
Ocean Zone, near the port.
A convoy drove along the dedicated road on the seawall, with Specialist Wen in his luxury vehicle, observing the surroundings and receiving updates from various sources.
He hadn't slept for four days and nights, so he felt tired, ate nutrient gel, and adjusted his breathing for a while.
This work state hadn't occurred since he took the investigation specialist position.
But he had to persist. Nominally, he was responsible for the security of the Linaksis Federation's diplomatic team, but in reality, it was surveillance and control. His task from above was to delay and obstruct their entry into the Fusion Zone by all means.
Due to the Linaksis Federation's strained relationship with the Great Harmony government, their company only had a few branch offices and outposts in Central City, lacking a formal channel to enter the Fusion Zone.
Thus, they could only choose hidden paths.
Completely blocking them was unlikely, as they could seal off the city's channels, but it was challenging to control the passages beneath the seabed, as the Municipal Parliament controlled them.
As long as the Linaksis Federation promised sufficiently generous conditions, the Municipal Parliament would open the passages.
He rubbed his forehead; now, they could only intensify patrols beneath the sea. After all, due to the two countries' relationship, the Municipal Parliament wouldn't dare be too blatant.
Sometimes, he had to step in personally to withstand the pressure.
But he had to persist. The tighter he sealed things here and the longer he delayed, the more time he could buy for Xu Chan.
Suddenly, the convoy slowed down.
He frowned and asked, "What's going on?"
"Report, the car ahead is Specialist Han's," came the reply.
"Oh?"
Another convoy approached, and as the main cars passed each other, both sides lowered their windows.
Specialist Wen looked at Specialist Han in the main seat, smiling, "Specialist Han, what a coincidence."
