Chapter 693: Come with Me
Chapter 693: Come with Me
"Big sister, are you alright?" Lisanna rushed over and asked Mira with concern.
Mira was still a bit bewildered by the changes in her body, but she nodded slightly.
Just then, Elfman suddenly widened his eyes, pointing at Mira's right arm in astonishment. "Big sister! Look at your arm!"
"Huh?" Mira looked down at her right arm and her eyes narrowed in shock.
Her arm no longer resembled that of a human, but instead, it had taken on a demonic form, identical to that of Satan's!
"Wh-what...?" She stared at her arm, lifting her right hand as a look of disbelief spread across her face.
Around the same time, some of the bolder villagers, startled by the previous commotion, had crept closer in the moonlight and caught sight of Mira's arm.
"Ah... Ahhhhhh!!!" One of the villagers closest to them let out a terrified cry upon seeing Mira's right arm and turned to flee.
A few others, carrying hoes, exclaimed in fear, "Ev-Evil... Demon! It's a demon!"
As the villagers stared at her in terror, Mira realized the situation she was in. She pulled her right arm behind her back and said anxiously, "No, I'm not a demon..."
However, those villagers were already backing away in fright.
Seeing this, Mira, Lisanna, and the others knew things were taking a turn for the worse. Lisanna, knowing full well that her sister couldn't possibly be a demon, looked at Mira's arm with utmost tension and asked, "Big sister, what's going on? Are you alright?"
"I... I don't know..." Mira's face paled as she stared at her right arm and took a few stumbling steps backward.
She had received the power of magic, and now she had completely assimilated with the demon Satan, possessing his form. However, because she had instinctively resisted this power, she couldn't control it well.
Not only was she unable to transform into Satan's complete form, but she also couldn't even change her arm back to normal.
As time passed, the sky gradually brightened.
News of Mira's demonic form spread like wildfire throughout the village, causing panic and unease among the villagers.
Mira, Lisanna, and the others tried to explain, but the villagers wouldn't listen. They viewed Mira as a descendant of a demon, and their fear and rejection eventually united them into taking action.
"Leave the village!" someone shouted.
"Get out! Demon!" yelled a villager, trembling as he brandished a hoe.
The villagers gathered at the village entrance, forming a semicircular encirclement about ten meters away from Mira and the others, each holding farming tools and weapons, tense and ready to strike.
Bang! A stone was thrown from a distance, aimed at Mira.
"My big sister isn't a demon! How can you do this?" Lisanna clenched her fists and shouted at the villagers in frustration, but no one paid her any heed.
Mira wore a cloak to conceal her right arm, but a few sharp claws still peeked out from underneath.
She lowered her head, her gaze falling to the ground, and finally, she bit her lip and said, "Stop shouting, Lisanna. It's useless... We can no longer live here."
"But our home is here..." Elfman couldn't help but interject, "Where will we go if we leave?"
Someone threw another stone.
Lisanna bit her lip, looking at the villagers' eyes filled with fear and rejection, and at the farming tools they held. She felt a sense of helplessness.
Having realized that it was impossible for the villagers to accept them again, she clenched her small fists and turned to Mira, her voice somewhat dejected as she said, "Let's go, sister."
"Mmm..."
Mira nodded slightly.
She glanced at the villagers in the distance and sighed inwardly, feeling uncertain about the future.
Just as Mira and Lisanna knew they couldn't stay any longer and were about to leave, unsure of where to go, sudden footsteps approached.
Each step of these clear footsteps seemed to fall in rhythm, as if connected to the heartbeat of everyone present.
Step, step, step...
After a few steps, everyone's heartbeat seemed to be pulled by these footsteps, and all eyes turned towards the direction of the footsteps.
Feng Ye, dressed in a mage's robe, walked calmly step by step from the road outside the village, with traces of magical light still lingering around him.
"It's... a mage..."
The villagers' eyes widened at the sight of Feng Ye, and after a brief moment of surprise, their spirits lifted.
Someone immediately shouted, "Master Mage! Please help us! There's a demon in our village!"
"Quiet."
Feng Ye's gaze calmly swept over the villagers, and he raised his left hand, snapping his fingers gently.
Pa!
With that snap of the finger, the villagers gathered there, one after another, felt dizzy and then lost consciousness.
Dozens of people fell one by one and soon lay scattered on the ground.
The only ones who didn't lose consciousness were Mira, Lisanna, and Elfman.
"It's... that mage..."
Elfman immediately recognized Feng Ye, as it was the third time he had seen him in a short period.
When Lisanna and Mira first saw Feng Ye, they also felt a strange sense of relief, feeling that someone who could solve their problem had finally arrived.
But then, as they saw all the villagers fall one by one from Feng Ye's snap of the finger, Lisanna's tension returned, and she blurted out, "Feng... Mage Feng Ye, my sister isn't a demon... Can you help my sister?"
Feng Ye walked closer step by step.
Mira and Lisanna, intimidated by the atmosphere, didn't dare to move, their eyes fixed anxiously on Feng Ye.
Feng Ye gently lifted Mira's cloak.
Underneath, her right arm had transformed into a demonic form, extending up to the upper part of her shoulder, near her neck.
"This is reception, a type of magic."
"It seems that last night, you devoured the remains of that demon and took its power."
Feng Ye's gaze passed over Mira's transformed arm, and he finally smiled indifferently.
Mira stared at Feng Ye, taken aback, and said,
"Ma... Magic?"
"Yes."
Feng Ye nodded slightly, his eyes glancing at the village in the distance, and said, "It seems you can no longer live here peacefully. If you don't know where to go, come with me."
