Chapter 693: Big Brother, I Was Wrong! (Second Update)
Chapter 693: Big Brother, I Was Wrong! (Second Update)
"Big Brother, it really is you, Big Brother!"
Although Aisha was already about 90% certain, she still let out a surprised cry when she saw Witch turn into her brother Jerry.
"Indeed, it’s me. Could everyone please step out for a moment? I need to talk to Aisha alone, if that’s okay."
Jerry smiled and nodded, then looked at the group of people gathered in a circle.
Everyone, who had been spectating, felt a sudden weight as Jerry’s gaze fell on them, as if an immense pressure was about to crush them. They quickly and tactfully waved and left the room.
Watching Jerry’s misfortune was rare and amusing, but compared to the potential revenge from Jerry in the future, it was wiser to leave the room now.
After all, the worst part of spectating is when it backfires on you. Star-Lord’s cautionary tale should not be forgotten.
"Alright, Big Brother, you need to tell me what’s really going on!"
Once everyone had left the room, Aisha looked at Jerry with a puffed-up face and demanded an explanation.
If Jerry was really Witch, that meant he had already mastered Magic at the age of eleven. Hiding such an important fact from his most adorable little sister was indeed inexcusable.
Of course, she wasn’t really that angry. Her main goal was to let Jerry know that he was now in a vulnerable position, which would change the dynamics of their family.
After all, she had always been at Jerry’s mercy, never winning against him. Today, she finally had the upper hand.
Jerry sat next to Aisha, showing no signs of nervousness. Instead, he calmly began to explain:
"Actually, this is a bit complicated. You need to understand that our universe is multifaceted, and besides our world, there are many other worlds.
When I was eleven, I accidentally entered another world. In that world, there are many Witches and a Witch school called Hogwarts. That’s where I learned Magic.
Hermione, the sister who visited us last year, was my classmate at the Magic school. We were both Witches."
At this point, with his current strength, he didn’t need to worry about his true identity being revealed, as he had the power to protect anyone.
The key was that everyone in the family was no longer ordinary, so there was no need to fear any estrangement due to his uniqueness.
The main reason he hadn’t revealed his identity earlier was that he had done many things under the guise of Witch. If his true identity were known, it might be a bit awkward.
For example, every time something happened, Belle and Aisha would fall into a coma, the “ice cream” and “coffee” Aisha ate and drank as a child, and the conversations he had with Sheriff Has using his Witch identity, and so on.
As long as he didn’t reveal that he was the legendary Mage who created the mahjong tiles, he wouldn’t face social death.
Fortunately, with his deliberate guidance, Aisha’s attention was mostly captivated by his stories about the multiverse and his magical life at Hogwarts. For a moment, she even forgot her initial purpose.
By the time Jerry finished his story, Aisha was still immersed in the magical and interesting tales. And because Jerry had subtly steered the narrative, Aisha’s understanding of the facts was somewhat different from the truth.
In Aisha's understanding, Jerry and Hermione were both Witches. The accomplishments of the Witch were the result of their collaboration, but the photo that was taken at the time only featured Hermione.
"Where is Sister Hermione now? Has she returned to her own world? When will she come back?"
Aisha asked, her curiosity piqued.
Jerry nodded.
"Yes, she is still attending Magic school in her world. When I have the time, I'll take you there to see her."
"Really? Yay, that's great!"
Aisha immediately jumped up from the sofa, beaming with excitement. She was very interested in the Magic school that Jerry and Hermione attended.
"Alright, go out and gather everyone downstairs at the hotel. In about half an hour, Thanos and his army will be here."
Jerry smiled and waved Aisha off.
Aisha happily got up and was about to leave, but she suddenly froze just as she reached the door. She quickly turned back to Jerry.
"But, big brother, you haven't told me why you didn't tell me the truth and kept it a secret from me."
She had almost forgotten why she came over in the first place. She wasn't there to listen to a story; she was there to catch her brother in the act. If she left now, all her efforts would be in vain.
"Can you tell me why you kept your Magic training a secret from the family, and why you joined the Avengers without consulting anyone, making your own decision?"
Jerry didn't panic at Aisha's questioning. Instead, he smiled and pulled out his trump card.
Aisha was taken aback and immediately clung to Jerry's arm, starting to plead.
"Big brother, I was wrong. Please don't tell Dad!"
She had forgotten the most crucial point: her identity as a Mahjong girl and her joining the Avengers were also kept secret from the family.
If Dad found out about her and Jerry's secrets, Jerry might only get a scolding, considering his reliability and the fact that he was already an adult and had graduated. However, she would be in serious trouble. Dad would likely force her to quit the Avengers and focus on her studies at school.
The Avengers were about to venture into space, with countless exciting stories and adventures waiting for her. If she were forced to stay on Earth and attend school, she would be miserable.
At that moment, she realized that exposing her brother's secret might have been a bit hasty.
"Of course, big brother will keep your secret if you keep mine. Do you think Tony and Steve would have approved your application to join the Avengers if I hadn't agreed?"
Jerry ruffled Aisha's hair and smiled with a rare sense of satisfaction.
Aisha, the little smart alec, had never managed to escape his grasp. Trying to outsmart her brother was still a long way off.
He had agreed to let Aisha and Has join the Avengers partly because he considered that if their identities were ever exposed, they would all be in the same boat, and no one could blame the others.
Against external enemies, he could sweep them away like fallen leaves, relying on his strength to crush all obstacles.
But when it came to his most important family, he had to use his wit. Fortunately, his family wasn't composed of high-IQ geniuses.
