Chapter 692: Mira's Awakening
Chapter 692: Mira's Awakening
Terrifying!
So terrifying!
As the dark beam of light appeared on the horizon, Lisana and Mira below felt a surge of fear.
Despite their inability to use magic, they could still sense the terror emanating from the darkness at such close proximity.
It was as if they were a tiny boat lost in a tempestuous sea, vulnerable to the merciless waves that threatened to crush and capsize them at any moment.
But.
Just as quickly as the fear arose, it was assuaged.
Facing Satan's attack, Feng Ye remained calm and extended his hand forward. His fingertips erupted with brilliant golden light.
This warm and sacred radiance illuminated the surroundings in an instant, colliding with Satan's release of darkness. Then, like a withered tree crumbling, it shattered Satan's dark assault.
"Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!"
Satan, enveloped by the golden beam, let out a piercing scream that echoed throughout the village.
Lisana and Mira watched, stunned, as Satan's body seemed to be engulfed in flames. The scales on his body rapidly eroded and disappeared, his wings disintegrated, and he eventually turned into a pile of withered bones that fell from the sky.
"So...so amazing..."
Lisana murmured, her eyes wide with awe as she gazed in Feng Ye's direction.
Mira remained silent, but her eyes mirrored the same shock. This display far exceeded the casual display of power Feng Ye had shown earlier in the day.
"It looks like I arrived just in time. Are you two alright?"
After defeating Satan, Feng Ye's fingertips dimmed, returning to their ordinary appearance. He turned to Mira and Lisana and asked gently.
Lisana's eyes, still reflecting her awe, narrowed slightly as she looked at Mira with admiration. "Thank you...I'm fine."
As she spoke, she remembered Mira's situation and quickly turned to her.
Mira's lips still bore traces of blood, and she endured the lingering pain in her body. "I'm fine, too..."
"That's good."
Feng Ye nodded gently.
Just then, three figures came running from a short distance away—Erza, Wendy, and Juvia.
"Feng Ye!"
"Feng Ye-san!"
"Big Brother Feng Ye!"
The trio rushed forward, each ready for battle with their magic activated. However, they saw no enemy in sight.
Feng Ye turned around and walked towards them, smiling. "It's over. Let's go."
Erza paused, her eyes falling on Satan's dried bones on the ground. "Is it already over?"
"Feng Ye-san is so incredible."
Juvia brought her hands together, her eyes sparkling as water droplets splashed around her.
Some of the water droplets landed on Wendy beside her, causing her to blush and say, "Sister Juvia, you're...you're dripping water..."
"Oh, sorry."
Juvia retracted the water droplets that had landed on Wendy.
The three girls followed Feng Ye, gradually moving away until they disappeared from Mira and Lisana's sight.
However, Feng Ye didn't go far. After entering the darkness, he stopped at a certain distance from the village and turned back to look in its direction.
"What is it?"
Erza noticed his action and also stopped, looking back at the village.
A faint glow appeared in Feng Ye's eyes, and he smiled faintly. "Looks like we'll be staying another day. As expected, something that was meant to happen has occurred."
Wendy blinked and asked curiously, "What happened?"
...
Near the village, after Feng Ye and the others had left, Lisana and Mira slowly regained their senses. Elfman, who had fled earlier, also returned.
"Sis, are you okay?" Elfman asked, concern etched on his face as he noticed the traces of blood at the corner of Mira's mouth.
Mira wiped away the blood and shook her head. "I should be fine..."
In truth, her body still felt scorching pain, but for some reason, she didn't want to appear weak in front of Feng Ye earlier, so she insisted she was alright.
She took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the discomfort in her body, and glared at the remains of Satan's skeleton, a hint of coldness flashing in her eyes. She viciously stomped on the remains.
This was the guy who had nearly killed Lisana!
Crunch!
Satan's broken bones shattered under Mira's stomping.
As Mira 'brutally' destroyed Satan's corpse, both Elfman and Lisana broke out in cold sweats. They exchanged a glance, their faces reflecting their embarrassment.
But then, just as Mira continued stomping, a startling change occurred.
A faint glimmer of darkness suddenly flickered within Satan's shattered bones, causing the broken skeleton to come alive and surge towards Mira. It wrapped around her legs in an instant.
"Damn it..."
"I am not that easy to kill..."
"Your body will be the vessel for my resurrection, human..."
Satan's weak voice echoed from the darkness, his remaining power surging into Mira's body.
"Sis!"
Upon witnessing this, Lisana and Elfman cried out in alarm and rushed forward, attempting to rescue Mira. However, the next moment, they were knocked back by a surge of darkness that erupted from Mira's body, sending them flying several meters away.
"Ahhhhhh!"
Mira screamed as her body floated uncontrollably in the air, enveloped by the darkness.
She gritted her teeth and struggled fiercely, her eyes reflecting determination and a refusal to yield. "You... you won't succeed!!"
Although she wasn't a mage, the demon had already been defeated by Feng Ye, and what remained was just a pile of bones. She would not allow it to dominate her!
One second...
Two seconds...
Three seconds...
In this intense struggle and standoff, her innate magical talent awakened.
The magic she awakened was—Reception! To devour demons or any external life force, assimilating them into her body and turning them into her own power!
"What is this? No... no... Ahhhhhh!!!"
Satan's weak voice expressed shock, followed by a piercing scream filled with unwillingness.
He desperately tried to escape from Mira's divine body, but it was already too late. His remaining power was devoured by Mira, and his consciousness was completely destroyed by her awakened magic.
Finally...
With a flash of black light, Mira silently fell from the sky.
"Sis!"
Lisana and Elfman rushed forward upon seeing this.
Mira landed gently on the ground, her eyes closed for a moment before slowly opening. She was surprised to find that the pain in her body had completely vanished.
Not only had the pain disappeared, but she also felt an immense power within her, as if she could punch through steel plates without needing to be in an extremely angry state!
