Chapter 691: Turn You to Ash!
Chapter 691: Turn You to Ash!
One side dark, the other trembling.
As Tee's fists smashed forward, the air shattered like glass, enveloped in the deepest darkness, forming a dark tunnel that engulfed Sagel.
"Dark Vibration!"
The darkness spread, generating suction, mixing with the trembling white light to form a chaotic gray that twisted and distorted, creating a vortex of force.
The power surprised everyone who had rushed into the fray.
From both sides, Jin and Katakuri entered like tigers among sheep. Jin swung his blade, felling a batch of enemies, while Katakuri used his ability to harden a block of mochi and sweep a swath of foes. They led their subordinates into the crowd, all turning their attention to Tee's attack, their expressions grave.
They couldn't block this attack.
Fortunately, they were recruited by Sagel, who didn't micromanage them, only demanding results and adherence to the rules.
If it were Tee, they might not be able to handle it, and the outcome would be dire. But they were content with the current situation.
So...
The two exchanged a glance through the crowd and quickened their movements.
They had to win this battle!
Amidst the fighting, shadows suddenly appeared beneath the combatants, freezing them in place. Their raised weapons stiffened, and they were quickly dispatched by the intruders, either by cold steel piercing vital points or lead bullets through their heads.
As Blackbeard Pirates fell, the shadows surged forward, splitting into countless tendrils that leaped from the ground, transforming into black gecko-shaped spears that impaled a circle of enemies, spraying blood and felling them.
"Hehehehehe!"
A sharp laugh echoed from the shadows, which quickly coalesced into Moria's form.
"That Tee!"
Standing amidst the corpses, Moria glanced at Tee, who had triggered the chaos, and laughed. "He seems much stronger, but this level is still not enough to take down Sagel. In the Grand Line, only Sagel stands at the pinnacle!"
This was proven by solid victories!
Of the former Yonko, three were personally defeated by Sagel, and although the fourth couldn't be killed due to the Marineford War, Tee, who now possessed Whitebeard's power and an additional ability, could further solidify Sagel's reputation.
By defeating these rulers of the sea, Sagel completed the final piece of his pirate legacy.
As for whether Tee could win...
The current display was far from enough!
"Hmph hmph hmph"
From the chaotic distortion, Sagel's voice echoed, "Still no improvement, I see. Last time it was the same. Is this your best?"
A black-red light suddenly flared within the chaos, breaking through the distortion and forming a finger-thick beam. It shot toward Tee with blinding speed.
Tee's eyes widened, and his arms crossed instinctively, dark and vibrating Haki intertwining to block the beam.
Crack!
Like shattering glass, the force wrapped around Tee's arms shattered, sending him flying backward, his feet gouging a deep trench in the ground before he finally came to a stop.
"Ha ha ha ha! This time it's different, I held it!"
Tee shook his trembling hands and sneered at Sagel, who had emerged from the chaos. "That move, against me..."
"Tengu Surge!"
Before Tee could finish, Sagel's index finger gathered another black-red beam, which reached Tee's face in the blink of an eye.
Tee's face changed, and he raised his arms again, wrapping them in the same chaotic Haki. The beam shattered his defenses, and before he could retreat, Sagel was already in front of him.
Sagel's body leaned forward, his head tilted, and his eyes glowed with a red, violent light, meeting Tee's eyes, which were filled with shock and panic. Sagel's eyes, however, were filled with confidence and disdain.
Crack!
His leg lashed out like a whip, striking Tee's forehead and sending him crashing into the ground. Before he could fully sink in, Sagel's leg recoiled and struck Tee's neck.
The impact sent a shockwave through the area, causing the ground to crack and debris to fly. Tee was about to be flung away, but Sagel was faster, appearing in front of him in an instant.
"Haki Barrage!"
His fists like stars, Sagel unleashed afterimages, each punch hammering into Tee's body. The force left Tee unable to retaliate, his body jerking and dancing with each blow.
The ground shattered with each impact, and the flying debris cut through the air like sharp arrows and bullets, striking nearby combatants and felling them.
Tee was helpless.
Even as he tried to use his ability to cover himself in darkness and absorb Sagel's powers, the sheer force of the punches, each reaching the limits of Haki, left him no room to act. He could only be sent flying.
"You..."
Crack! Crack! Crack!
"This..."
Crack! Crack! Crack!
"Guy!"
Buzz!
Crack!
Sagel's punching motion suddenly paused as his fist struck the air, causing a momentary tremor. Tee had vanished, reappearing in a corner of the Obsidian Bastion, where a hole had been blasted open.
It wasn't Van Okka's teleportation; he was already engaged in battle, exchanging fire with Renee while dodging attacks from others.
Sagel looked down and saw a familiar magic circle below, the only difference being the absence of the '5' symbol. It was a simple magic circle for summoning and teleportation.
"Ah..."
Sagel smiled. "I thought you had some secret weapon. So, you're a king now, huh? Who gave you this power? The one hiding in the Void Throne, like a rat, just like the World Government itself? That thing, perhaps?"
For Tee, there were no such excuses.
Pride in blocking one attack?
His true strength hadn't even been unleashed.
Defending against his Tengu Surge wasn't something to be proud of. The simplest way to deal with Tee wasn't at a distance but through relentless, unstoppable physical attacks.
Abilities and energy could be absorbed, but his fists and Haki were not so easily countered.
Moreover, his current form came with 'adaptive Haki,' each punch at maximum power, requiring no mental effort to adjust. As long as he kept hitting, Tee would eventually crack.
Of course, he wouldn't kill Tee. He was a subject for study, and once Big Mom had his body and uncovered the secrets of his constitution, then it would be his time to die.
But he hadn't expected Tee to surprise him like this.
The magic circle...
What was this?
"Ha ha ha ha!"
Debris flew from the corner of the Obsidian Bastion, revealing Tee's hand. He slowly emerged, covered in blood, his mouth missing a few teeth, and his crooked crown shattered, looking utterly disheveled.
"Ouch, it really hurts this time, unlike before. I thought you, with your new abilities, would be more vulnerable to me, but it seems I can't suppress you. You've truly surpassed me, my good Aibo! Despite starting together, you've grown so much, not just in mind but in strength as well!"
Sagel sneered, "Is this the first time you're realizing it? Too arrogant, Tee. Did I move too quickly last time, giving you a false sense of security? You should know my greatest strength..."
He clenched his fist, the air around it cracking, "is my physical combat! As for you, joining the Divine Knights? A pirate like you doesn't fit in there. Did you become a king, or are you trying to be Shimizu? Can the D Clan even be Shimizu?"
"Ha ha ha ha, that's none of your concern. Though it hurts, I can endure it. The power of the Dark-Dark Fruit can absorb any damage. I don't need to elementize, and you can't kill me!"
Tee extended his hand, releasing black smoke. "This place is a cage now, following your plan. I can wait until you're exhausted and then slowly finish you off! Come on, Aibo! Let's continue!"
The Dark-Dark Fruit's strength lay not only in attracting 'demons' but also in its ability to absorb any damage, though it couldn't elementize.
Everything has a price. The inability to elementize made it seem weak, unable to match the top Logia fruits, which could easily achieve a stalemate.
Even Sagel was weak against Logia fruits, not being countered but at a disadvantage. They could escape anyone, and no one could stop them from surviving.
The Dark-Dark Fruit, while not a Logia, compensated for the lack of elementization by absorbing any damage, whether fire, lightning, wind, slashes, or impacts.
Striking him was more about the pain he couldn't endure.
In terms of physical damage...
Sagel could see that, despite the blood, Tee's body was still intact.
Haki had some effect, but his abilities and strength seemed to counteract it.
"Something's off... Your Haki and abilities are somehow countering my maximum power attacks. Even without visible injuries, it doesn't matter. I'll keep hitting you until I figure out what you've gained."
Sagel stepped forward, crushing the magic circle with his foot, and summoned his Golden Bracer, which transformed into a pirate saber with a serrated edge.
"Let's experiment more. If fists don't work, how about slashes? I've always been curious if your Dark-Dark Fruit can heal your wounds or if I can't cut you at all."
Swish!
As he spoke, Sagel flashed into the air, raising his hand to unleash a massive flying slash.
He wasn't a swordsman, but using a weapon to release pure Haki was within his capabilities.
A flying slash was essentially a combination of swordsmanship and compressed Haki. Sagel excelled at the latter.
Sss!
The massive slash cut through the Obsidian Bastion, causing it to tilt and slide to one side. Before it could crush Tee, Sagel unleashed several more intersecting slashes, aiming for Tee.
"Air Vibration!"
Tee's left fist slammed forward, the vibration shattering the flying slashes and dissipating them.
"Hmm? Taking such a hit and immediately countering instead of retreating—should I commend your bravery or call you foolish?"
Seizing the opportunity, Sagel appeared in front of Tee, his expression twisted, and swung his saber at Tee's neck.
"Black Hole Palm!"
Tee's eyes widened, and his other hand shot out, forming a dark spiral that used suction to hold Sagel's blade, preventing it from cutting him.
"My attacks are all-encompassing."
Sagel's lips curled into a smile. Without moving, the beads around his neck ignited, forming a fiery halo that enveloped him. The flames burst forth, engulfing Tee in a massive column of fire.
"Ouch! It hurts so much!"
Tee's cries of pain were quickly suppressed by the darkness.
"Lightning?"
As the flames still burned, Sagel's voice echoed, and several thick bolts of lightning struck Tee, not from the sky but through his connection with his Homies.
The shock of the lightning caused Tee's hand to stiffen, and Sagel took the opportunity to slash upward along Tee's arm, cutting into his neck.
Pfft!
There was the sound of flesh being cut, but no decapitation.
The blade was enveloped in darkness, slicing through and emerging on the other side of Tee's neck.
Tee instinctively clutched his neck, making a gurgling sound, his face contorted in pain, turning a ghastly shade of blue. But soon, he regained his composure.
Thud.
Tee dropped to his knees, gasping for breath, sweat mixing with blood and dripping to the ground.
"Truly indestructible..."
Sagel coldly surveyed Tee, his hand moving to transform the saber back into a bracer.
His hands moved in a circular motion, creating afterimages. "Then... let's turn you to ash!"
