Chapter 691: G-3 Sea Area – No Ambush Navy Forces Allowed!
Chapter 691: G-3 Sea Area – No Ambush Navy Forces Allowed!
"Dead?"
As he spoke, a ripple of Killing Intent leaked into the room, thickening the air in the office.
"Not yet."
Klah instinctively took a step back, sweat trickling down his temple as he hurriedly replied, "But if things keep going this way, it might end in defeat. Kas is a Devil Fruit user – if the ship sinks..."
"Coordinates?"
"Southwest of Kamoro Island."
At this, Kuro coldly dialed a call, his voice sharp. "Get over here."
In moments, a flash of white light erupted in the office, and from it stepped Moer's figure.
"More work again? I was finally catching a nap, uncle..."
Moer's words trailed off as his pupils shrank in alarm. Staring at Kuro, he muttered, "This Killing Intent... Hey, isn't this a bit extreme?"
"Moer, gather everyone at Port. Now!"
Kuro rose, his right hand gripping the hilt of his sword. With a single slash, he carved a gaping wound in the wall, then launched his body through it.
Boom!
A shockwave roared outward as his form compressed the air itself, rocketing toward G-3's Port.
"Yikes."
Scratching his head, Moer glanced at Klah. "What's got him so angry?"
"Kas was ambushed", Klah pushed his glasses up, voice grim. "This is a blatant provocation against the Navy. First time seeing Kuro Mr.'s Killing Intent like this?"
Moer nodded. "Guess I'd better not slack off – I'd hate to become the target of that wrath."
With that, his body shimmered and vanished in white light.
Klah twitched his lips, hesitating toward the fading glow.
Couldn't you at least have taken me first?!
Suppressing the urge to complain, he dove through Kuro's slashed opening, activating his Moonstep to race toward the Port.
Meanwhile, Lida was happily devouring a feast in the Dining Hall.
Though Kuro had promised a banquet, her hunger had gotten the better of her. She'd arrived early, ordering the Navy chefs to prepare her favorites.
While not as delicious as Ju Geng's cooking, G-3's Dining Hall rivaled even Headquarters – sizzling seafood fried rice, marbled grilled meats, seafood platters, vegetable assortments, and the tender flesh of sea beasts from nearby waters now filled her table.
Grabbing a bone-in cut, she announced, "Itadakimasu!"
Flash!
Before the words faded, a hand materialized from white light, tapping her shoulder.
In an instant, Lida vanished, leaving her bountiful table untouched.
"Lida Commander, here's some noodles..."
A chef approached with a steaming dish, only to freeze at the empty seat before him, deep in thought.
...
White light vanished, revealing Lida standing in a dim, unfamiliar location.
This wasn't the Dining Hall!
"Hey!"
Before she could glare at Moer, he disappeared too.
"Damn you, interrupting my meal!"
She savagely bit into her meat, chewing furiously. "Whatever your reason, I'll make you bedridden for three days when I find you!"
Her threat hung mid-air when suddenly her body stiffened. She turned sharply.
Kuro stood nearby, arms crossed, cigar hanging from his lips.
A familiar yet chilling Killing Intent radiated from him, saturating the entire Port.
This was an indoor dock – the ceiling had been blown open by residual energy from Kuro's earlier exit.
Combined with his current wrathful aura and that ominous expression – clearly broadcasting 'Don't mess with this Old Man today' – the culprit was obvious.
Lida swallowed, suddenly finding her meat less appetizing. She hesitated, then wiped her free hand on her uniform before timidly tugging Kuro's sleeve.
"Kuro? What's happened?"
"Ah, Lida."
He cast a sidelong glance, then turned back toward the anchored ships. "Kas was ambushed by pirates."
His face darkened. "Lida, have I been too gentle lately? How dare they attack the Old Man's subordinate?! I know survival in the Grand Line is brutal, but aren't pirates supposed to flee from the Navy? Let them run out of G-3's jurisdiction – let them brawl with New World crews all they like, I don't care.
But someone still dares challenge G-3's authority?" His voice rose to a snarl, "When did the New World produce such a brazen fool besides the Four Emperors?!"
Blowing out a smoke ring, his gloomy face twisted further. "This is a disgrace to me, Kuro!"
Flash! Flash! Flash!
White lights blinked behind him as Moer's teleportation delivered the others.
Ai En arrived second, followed by Sazil, Binz, Ju Geng, and Fen Ni – all bewildered, ripped from their activities by unexpected white light.
Before questions could form, they felt Kuro's Killing Intent and clamped their mouths shut.
Even fools could see the danger.
A Vice Admiral's Killing Intent at this intensity meant he was beyond rage.
Sazil quietly edged behind the group, terrified of becoming a scapegoat.
Finally, Klah descended rapidly via Moonstep, landing at the Port.
Touching down, he instinctively stepped back, positioning himself behind even Sazil.
Arriving last, it was wisest to avoid Kuro's notice – better not become the next target for his wrath.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Footsteps echoed outside.
The main gate slammed open as Navy forces scrambled into formation.
Only now did Moer finally reappear.
He'd waited until transporting all subordinates before notifying G-3's Navy officers.
Without turning, Kuro asked, "Moer, can your ability work at sea?"
"Not reliably", Moer shrugged apologetically. "Roadmark requires a fixed landmark, but teleporting across the Grand Line would leave me as frozen as Aokiji's Ice Age."
"This solves it."
Kuro raised his hand, clenching his fist.
Black specks rained down from the sky – countless stone fragments suspended midair.
"Use these as waypoints. Can the Golden Lion teleport this many people?" His eyes narrowed.
"It'll drain me badly. Such a large group across this distance? My ability won't last long."
"Fine. Every bit helps. The rest is on me."
Kuro's voice darkened. "Ai En – you're in command."
"Understood, Kuro Vice Admiral!"
Ai En snapped a salute.
"All hands aboard! Target: Kamoro Island Southwest!" Kuro's teeth clenched around his cigar. "G-3 Sea Area – no Ambush Navy forces allowed!"
