Chapter 690: Pipa and Her Parents
Chapter 690: Pipa and Her Parents
The Tera Energy that enveloped the Dazzling Pool gradually dissipated.
The Totten Turtles showed signs of exhaustion.
Dr. Orلين glanced at Pipa in her arms and then at Shizuru and the unfamiliar girl across from them.
She had encountered such situations before when exploring the Greatbyss, and now, she and Dr. Forest were not overly surprised by what was happening to them.
However, everything in this timeline was vastly different from her memories.
Pipa had grown significantly, and Shizuru's face bore the marks of time. Moreover, he held a girl in his arms.
That girl was Shizuru's daughter. Dr. Orلين remembered that the last time she saw her, she was just a tiny tot, but now, she had grown up.
The Gogoat stared at them with bright eyes, its excitement barely contained.
It was the very same Gogoat they had risked their lives to protect at the Fourth Observation Station—the weakest one!
All these signs indicated that this timeline was not the one they had previously experienced.
She turned to Shizuru and asked softly, "Tell me, what happened?"
"Mom..." Pipa had calmed down and wiped away his tears, looking a bit embarrassed.
Seeing the two doctors safe and sound, Shizuru couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Speaking of which, he had to thank Xiao Qing for this.
Shizuru glanced at Xiao Qing, who noticed his gaze and looked back.
Shizuru nodded at her, indicating that she had done an excellent job.
He told them about the distorted Pokemon's massive riot in the giant pit, the death of the two doctors at the Fourth Observation Station while protecting the Gogoat, the chaotic battle between the Gogoat and the Miletton, the time machine, and everything else.
The doctors had left in 206, and now it was 208.
They had missed two years.
Two years was enough time for many things to change.
When they heard that the distorted Pokemon had broken through the defense line and invaded the Paldea region due to the doctors' deaths while protecting the Gogoat, their faces grew somber.
"Those violent distorted Pokemon wreaked havoc in towns, nearly causing the collapse of ecosystems everywhere."
"Thankfully, Mr. Shizuru intervened in time, preventing a larger-scale invasion of distorted Pokemon."
After all, they had controlled the number of distorted Pokemon, and their research had achieved interim success, proving that Pokemon trainers in the present could capture distorted Pokemon from the past and future.
The two doctors looked up at him, waiting for an explanation.
The Enigmatic Shizuru's Revelation
Shizuru stepped aside, revealing Xiao Qing and Gogoat behind him.
"This Gogoat, the very one you fought so hard to protect, managed to escape the Giant Pit with its last ounce of strength. It eventually met Xiao Qing and became her partner, just like all modern Pokemon." Shizuru explained.
Dr. Orلين's eyes widened slightly at his words.
The intelligent woman immediately understood Shizuru's implication.
"Is it necessary for humans to form bonds with Paradox Pokemon for them to be accepted into this world?" Dr. Orلين murmured.
Dr. Forest also frowned, as a thought crossed his mind.
As researchers, they were well aware of the consequences when a large group of foreign wild Pokemon invaded a region.
These wild Pokemon would undoubtedly deal a devastating blow to the local ecosystem.
Realizing this, Dr. Forest's expression turned grim.
Could it be that their research direction had been wrong from the start?
"Doctor..." Xiao Qing felt a twinge of worry seeing the two doctors' inability to accept this.
"Enough!"
Suddenly, Pai Pa's loud shout interrupted the doctors' thoughts.
Dr. Orلين blinked, turning to look at her son.
Tears of grievance welled up in Pai Pa's eyes, and years of pent-up emotions burst forth in that moment.
His words were almost a roar.
"Do you know how many people were worried about you back then?"
"Do you know how those Paradox Pokemon attacked the people and Pokemon in nearby towns?"
"Do you know that the Chief stayed awake for several consecutive days to protect the Paldea Defense Line?"
"You don't know! You know nothing! You only care about your research, only about Paradox Pokemon, and even the AI that inherited your memories and emotions can't compare!"
Tears streamed down Pai Pa's cheeks, falling onto the edge of the Dazzling Pool.
His body trembled slightly from the intense emotional upheaval.
"Pai Pa..."
Dr. Orلين and Dr. Forest stared at the scene before them, stunned.
They had never seen Pai Pa like this.
The unheard words echoed in their ears.
For a moment, both doctors were lost in thought.
Had their lifelong pursuit of dreams caused so much trouble for the Paldea region and its people?
Pai Pa hung his head low, his face shrouded in shadow, making it difficult to discern his expression.
Tears continued to fall, drop by drop.
His voice quivered with sobs, laced with a hint of grievance.
"Do you know... how I've been these past two years?"
They had never seen their son looking so aggrieved.
"Pai Pa..." Dr. Forest murmured.
"We're sorry, Pai Pa."
Although they didn't know what Pai Pa had endured these past two years, they were certain that when Pai Pa learned of their passing, he must have suffered a tremendous blow.

"Bogo, bogo!"
After a long while, Paipa finally calmed down.
He released his grip and looked at Xiao Qing and Shizuru, his face filled with embarrassment.
Dr. Orlin slowly approached and spoke to Shizuru, "We are truly sorry, Shizuru."
She referred to how, due to their actions, the Moto Lizard fell into the Time Machine and became a Gogoat.
Shizuru shook his head, "No need for apologies, Dr. Orlin. Some things are destined to happen, no matter how we try to change them, we can't stop it."
Since the Moto Lizard was destined to become a Gogoat, what he needed to do, what he could do, was to go back in time and accompany the Moto Lizard until it met its past self.
However, now wasn't the right time.
But Shizuru wasn't worried because his destiny with the Moto Lizard was already interconnected, inseparable.
The Moto Lizard was one, the Gogoat was one, regardless of its name or appearance, it was undoubtedly the most important Pokemon by his side.
"Now, the Time Machine has been shut down, and the Zero Zone Research Institute has become a ruin. What are your plans moving forward?" Shizuru inquired.
"We don't know..." Dr. Orlin shook her head.
But Dr. Forest calmly stated, "I and Dr. Orlin have caused such trouble for the Paldea Region. Even if we return to Area Zero to continue our research, we will likely face rejection from the League."
Dr. Orlin continued, "So, we plan to abandon our research on Paradox Pokemon because we've already found the answers from you."
As she spoke, Dr. Orlin's gaze shifted to Shizuru, the Gogoat, Xiao Qing, and the Gogoat.
"Your name is Xiao Qing, right?" Dr. Orlin asked.
"Yes!" Xiao Qing nodded.
"If you have the time, can you tell us in detail about what happened after you met it?" Dr. Orlin's expression softened.
"Of course!" Xiao Qing replied.
"Thank you very much." Dr. Orlin thanked her again.
They turned around and looked at Paipa.
"For you, we've been gone for two years. During these two years, many things must have happened in the Paldea Region."
"Paipa," Dr. Orlin called out softly.
Paipa was stunned, "Mom?"
"When we return to Xiaoshi Town, can you tell us in detail about the significant events that happened during these two years?" Dr. Orlin said with a smile.
They had missed out on too many things, and now that they had been given a second chance by fate, they wouldn't let it slip away again.
Hearing her words, Paipa's eyes lit up with surprise, and he nodded vigorously, "Yes!"
"Oh dear, we suddenly disappeared for two years and now suddenly reappeared. We might startle the Chief and the others, right?" Dr. Orlin suddenly realized this problem.
Regarding this, no one was more suitable to handle it than Shizuru.
"I'll inform the Chief about everything that happened today, but Dr. Orlin, are you heading back to Xiaoshi Town next?" Shizuru asked.
"Yes," Dr. Orlin nodded.
They needed to return first and properly organize the events of the day.
Despite not being surprised by time travel, the sheer amount of events that transpired within this short day overwhelmed their minds. Even the doctors struggled to keep up with the flood of information.
"Alright!" Shizuru didn't try to stop them, knowing the doctors needed time. "In the future, when you have time, you're always welcome to visit the farm again!"
Dr. Orlin smiled and nodded, "We'll definitely come."
Paipa's family prepared to return to Xiaoshi Town, and Xiao Qing's home was also located there.
She bid farewell to Shizuru and chose to return with Paipa.
Shizuru sent them off to Crescent Town and waved goodbye. Holding Little Tree, he rode the Gogoat back to the farm.
The first thing Shizuru did after returning home was to use the Rotom Phone to call Ya Ci and inform her about everything that had happened, including the return of Dr. Orlin and Dr. Forest.
After listening, Ya Ci seemed quite shocked.
Her tone was filled with disbelief.
"...So, we didn't find the bodies of the two doctors at that time because you and Xiao Qing summoned them to the future?"
Shizuru nodded, "Yes, I've already told them about everything that happened afterward. Currently, we don't know what choice they will make."
"Hmm." Ya Ci showed a thoughtful expression, "After experiencing those events, the Paldea League might not allow them to enter Area Zero to rebuild the institute."
"The two doctors anticipated this," Shizuru said, "They chose to return to Xiaoshi Town and slowly sort out what happened during these two years."
