Chapter 69: The Way Out
Chapter 69: The Way Out
People in the gang are ruthless and merciless. This is a consensus among everyone on the street.
But even Jiang Cheng didn't expect that they could be so cruel to their own people.
"Things seem to be getting complicated."
Jiang Cheng looked at Wu Tian's inscrutable face, a strong sense of crisis rising within him.
If someone could be this ruthless to their own people, what would they do to others?
He must quickly improve his proficiency with the Double Sticks.
However, the key issue is that not only himself but also his family might be in danger. These gang members have no conscience; who knows what they might do.
Bai Wei was also in a daze, staring blankly at the person on the ground.
"Miss Bai, I'm asking you a question."
Wu Tian's voice snapped everyone back to reality.
"I don't know if you're satisfied with this resolution. If not, there are two more here, or you can have your people take care of it. I won't stop you."
As he spoke, Wu Tian glanced at the two people.
They were as scared as quails, their faces pale.
They didn't dare move or speak.
Bai Wei took a deep breath, regaining her composure. "No need. I just don't want this to happen again."
"It won't."
Wu Tian smiled slightly, then gave Jiang Cheng a deep look before turning and glancing at Qian Yun Kai on the ground. "Carry him back."
With that, he left in large strides.
The two gang members quickly lifted Qian Yun Kai.
One of them felt under his nose, relieved to find his breathing normal.
The remaining Wild Wolf Gang members remained silent, their eyes fixed on Bai Wei. Jiang Cheng glanced at her a couple of times before leaving as well.
The group quickly arrived at a storefront, entered the back room, and closed the door.
"Get him up."
Wu Tian looked at Qian Yun Kai on the ground.
"Yes, Sky Brother."
A man approached and pinched a few acupoints on Qian Yun Kai's body.
Qian Yun Kai let out a startled cry, as if he had just woken from a nightmare. He looked around in confusion before quickly recalling everything.
"Sky Brother, I was wrong! I was wrong! I won't do it again! I won't do it again!"
He fell to his knees, bowing repeatedly, tears and snot streaming down his face.
The two men who were with him also knelt down in terror, begging for mercy.
"Do you know what you did wrong?"
Wu Tian asked coldly.
"I shouldn't have provoked the people from the martial arts academy, broken the rules, and lied," Qian Yun Kai sobbed.
"Wrong!"
Wu Tian barked.
"You were wrong in being stupid!"
"?"
The three men stood there, mouths agape, at a loss.
"I told you before, either don't provoke the people from the martial arts academy, or don't let them recognize you. You threatened someone on the street and got caught red-handed. What else could it be but stupidity?"
The three men were stunned, then somewhat relieved.
It turned out that Sky Brother wasn't angry about them provoking the martial arts academy, just that they had handled the situation poorly.
"Sorry, Sky Brother. I was blinded by the money, determined to get that guy's secret recipe to give to you. Unfortunately, that bitch surnamed Bai appeared and heard me threatening him," Qian Yun Kai explained quickly.
"What's this secret recipe about?" Wu Tian asked.
"Sky Brother, I was just about to tell you. That kid's roasted sweet potatoes are definitely something special. Otherwise, how could he afford the premium membership at the martial arts academy? That's five thousand a month! If you add the cost of ingredients and food, it's at least seven or eight thousand a month!"
"Right, Sky Brother! If we get this recipe, we can have ten or eight people sell it. We'd just sit back and count the money!"
"Is it really that good?"
Wu Tian's face revealed a hint of skepticism.
"Tian Ge, to confirm if it's true or not, we can send someone to keep an eye on that kid for a few days and see how much he makes in a day," suggested a man beside him with a smile.
"Hmm."
Wu Tian pondered for a moment, "Then let's watch him and see where he lives while we're at it."
"What do you mean, Tian Ge?"
"That woman with the surname Bai, we can't afford to offend her. She's just a premium member, can't we deal with her? We won't be staying here for long anyway. When we leave, we'll send that kid and his entire family packing."
Upon hearing this, the three men, including Qian Yun Kai, couldn't contain their excitement.
They knew that Tian Ge would avenge them.
"Hey, sweet potato seller, you're feeling pretty cocky, huh? Let's see if you can still act all high and mighty after a few days!"
The others around them didn't seem surprised by this, as if they had expected it all along.
"Tian Ge, aren't we supposed to leave in half a month? Why is it only a few days now?" one of them asked.
"Do you really think the Iron Fist Gang will play by the rules and wait until the fifteenth day to come after us?" Wu Tian glanced at him.
"Oh, I guess you're right."
The man scratched his head.
When they drove out the Triad Alliance, they wanted nothing more than for them to leave immediately, not even staying for a day.
"Alright, Tian Ge, I'll arrange for someone to keep an eye on that kid and see how much he makes in a day, as well as where he lives."
"Go ahead, but remember not to get caught. We don't want any more trouble," Wu Tian replied.
"Don't worry, Tian Ge," the man assured him.
...
On the street, the gathered crowd gradually dispersed.
Many of them couldn't help but look at Jiang Cheng with sympathy in their eyes before leaving.
The leader of the Wild Wolf Gang had just publicly struck his subordinate, pressured by the martial arts gym, which was akin to slapping himself in front of everyone.
For a man, face was perhaps even more important than life itself.
He dared not do anything to the woman, as she clearly had a background not to be trifled with. However, dealing with a street vendor was a different story.
"I'm sorry," Bai Wei said, turning to Jiang Cheng. "I didn't expect Wu Tian to be so ruthless, attacking his own people. It left me speechless, and I'm to blame for how things turned out."
After witnessing the recent events, everyone knew that the Falcon Fist Gym was reliable.
However, this escalation of conflict put Jiang Cheng in a dangerous situation.
Seeing this, Sun Xiaoli and the others didn't know what to say.
"White Senior Sister, these are unnecessary words. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't know how to deal with those three," Jiang Cheng said with a faint smile.
"Jiang Shidi, you're too modest," Bai Wei shook her head. "I've already heard about the morning's incident from Senior Brother Zeng. With your skills, even if those three had knives, you could have handled them easily."
"But that would have invited trouble from the Wild Wolf Gang," Jiang Cheng said with a bitter smile.
Bai Wei fell silent.
It was true.
However, even with her intervention, the outcome remained the same.
"White Senior Sister, I'd like to ask a favor. Could you let my family stay at the martial arts gym for a few days to lay low? I'm not afraid of those men retaliating against me, but I'm worried they'll resort to underhanded methods and target the people around me," Jiang Cheng said, looking intently into her eyes. "I can pay. I just need to get through this period."
