Chapter 684: Establishing a Star System (First Update)
Chapter 684: Establishing a Star System (First Update)
Fairy Law, one of the most powerful magics Jerry learned in the Fairy Tail world.
Unlike Fairy Radiance, which uses the power of the sun, moon, and stars to mercilessly obliterate enemies, Fairy Law is a magic based on the principles of causality.
Theoretically, as long as they are enemies, this magic can forcibly erase them from existence, both physically and spiritually.
However, using this magic comes at the cost of one's life. The stronger the enemy and the more they resist, the greater the life cost will be.
After extensive research and multiple improvements, Jerry finally managed to change the cost from life to magic power.
Now, he was going to use Fairy Law to forcibly erase the soul of Ego, who was in a deep sleep and unable to resist, from this planet, leaving only the planet and the powerful Celestial Power it contained.
Since Ego's soul was extremely powerful, he needed ten seconds to gather the entire Ring World's power to assist him in achieving his goal.
This was why he had asked Mantis to hold on for ten seconds earlier.
As Jerry chanted, the law chains that had been restraining Ego's planet dissipated, and the world's power, along with the power of the followers and others like Korulido, all converged within Jerry's body.
After ten seconds, Jerry suddenly opened his eyes, and two extremely complex magic arrays formed on his irises. Then, an immensely powerful white light shot from his eyes directly into Ego's brain.
"No!!!!"
Immediately, Ego's desperate voice echoed across the entire planet, growing weaker and weaker until it finally faded away.
"Done!"
Sensing that Ego's soul had been completely erased, Jerry closed his eyes and dispersed the powerful magic power that had gathered in his body.
In reality, with Jerry's current strength, he could have defeated Ego in a direct confrontation. Unlike Odin and the Ancient One, Ego, despite possessing powerful Celestial Power, had a fatal weakness: his brain.
If Jerry could forcibly break through to the brain and destroy it, both Ego and his planet would vanish.
However, that wasn't what Jerry wanted. He needed the planet's Celestial Power to enhance his Ring World, to bring a beautiful moon to it, and to further upgrade the Ring World.
Now that Ego's soul had been completely erased, it would take at least a few million years for this planet to grow a new one.
By then, his Ring World would be far more powerful than it is now.
"I need some time to process Ego's planet. Head straight for Knowhere, and I'll come out when we're close."
On the Dawnship, Jerry instructed Star-Lord and the others.
"Knowhere?"
Star-Lord and Gamora exchanged confused looks.
"Are you planning to sell Ego's planet to The Collector?"
In the eyes of Star-Lord and the others, Knowhere was the largest black market in the galaxy, and its owner, The Collector, had a hobby of collecting all sorts of strange and rare items.
They thought Jerry was likely going to sell Ego's planet there.
"Do you think I'm short on money?"
Jerry shrugged.
"I'm not selling Ego's planet. It's still useful to me. Instead, I'm planning to buy The Collector's Knowhere."
"Buy Knowhere?"
Star-Lord and Gamora's eyes widened.
Jerry nodded and smiled.
"Yes, how about I gift it to you as a space base? You're planning to continue your adventures in the galaxy, and you'll need a place to rest and regroup, right?"
"Give it to us!"
Star-Lord nearly jumped on the spot.
When they first met Jerry, they did indeed earn a fair amount of money from him, but compared to the entirety of Knowhere, that was just a drop in the bucket.
"It can't be that simple, right?"
Gamora was clearly much calmer than Star-Lord. She knew that Jerry wasn't one to do anything without a reason. She found it hard to believe that Jerry would go to Knowhere just to give them a space station.
Jerry nodded at Gamora.
Truly, she was the most skilled spy under Thanos, capable of finding the location of the Soul Stone, something even Thanos couldn't do on his own.
"Of course, the main reason is that we need to deal with Thanos in Knowhere and turn it into a new Avengers base that can connect to Earth."
With Ego taken care of, the next target was clearly Thanos, who sought to destroy half of the universe's life.
While Ego had planted seeds on thousands of planets, not all of them would become his avatars when he activated them. Don't underestimate the power of some planets. For example, if Ego's seeds began to assimilate Earth, Kamar-Taj, Odin, various Dimensional Deities, and the Eternals would not stand idly by.
Planets like Xandar and the Kree Planet also possess advanced technology that could potentially drive out Ego's influence.
So, in the end, the planets Ego could truly convert were those with lower civilizations or no other Gods to protect them.
Moreover, the universe contains far more than just a few thousand inhabited planets.
Considering this, Thanos's collection of the six Infinity Stones and his plan to wipe out half of the universe's life would cause far more destruction than Ego. Therefore, the red stars Thanos offers should be even more valuable.
Coincidentally, Jerry also planned to connect the Avengers with the universe, but only the Avengers would be privy to this. The governments and leaders of Earth would remain in the dark.
And Knowhere was the perfect place to accomplish all of this.
After explaining everything to Star-Lord and the others, Jerry returned to his ring world, where he still needed to deal with Ego's planet.
Swallowing Ego's planet and erasing Ego's soul didn't mean it could be seamlessly integrated into the ring world. It was a real planet, not a pure form of energy like the Dormammu Incarnation.
So, there was still much to be done.
As the ring world gradually improved, Jerry was also upgrading the entire realm.
First, he was expanding the ring world's spatial dimensions using the Spatial Law, continuously enlarging it and extending it outward.
Next, he was expanding the two continents and the ocean between them.
Where once the land and sea in the ring world were flat, Jerry had unconsciously transformed them into a spherical shape. If one flew high enough, they would see that the two continents and the ocean between them had formed a basic planet.
The Eternal Flame, hanging high above, served as the sun, though it was too small to make the planet orbit around it. Instead, it orbited the planet, creating day and night.
