Chapter 683: Annihilation
Chapter 683: Annihilation
September 25, 2017
For some time now, Lu HaiKong had deployed almost all of his elite forces, leaving little defense behind.
So when he emerged from the City Lord's Mansion, he was accompanied by a small group of less than a hundred men, barely enough to serve as a token guard.
At this moment, a group of lone wanderers appeared, numbering in the dozens.
Although their numbers were inferior to Lu HaiKong's side, each of them possessed strength above seventy, and many even had strength in the eighties.
Adding insult to injury, these individuals were all equipped with elite-level gear, and some even wore exquisite-level sets, which were clearly purchased from Lu HaiKong's equipment shop.
With their superior strength and equipment, this group of lone wanderers was incredibly arrogant, believing that Lu HaiKong's numerical advantage was insignificant. They immediately surrounded him without hesitation.
Once they had encircled Lu HaiKong, the leader of the group stepped forward confidently and demanded, "Lu HaiKong, you've fallen into our trap. If you want to live, hand over the Divine Valor Pill and sever your own arms!"
Their tone was domineering and fearless, showing no regard for Lu HaiKong, the first Outsider who looked down upon the world.
They treated Lu HaiKong as if he were a pig to be slaughtered at their will.
Lu HaiKong narrowed his eyes, scanning the faces of the lone wanderers surrounding him, each filled with pride and arrogance, as if searching for something. He showed no intention of responding.
"Lu HaiKong, don't even think about your subordinates coming to rescue you. We've made thorough preparations, and they won't be able to arrive within thirty minutes. If you want to live, hand over the Divine Valor Pill. I know you have more, and if you don't, thirty minutes is a long time. I'll make you experience a life worse than death."
The leader's eyes gleamed with greed, fixated on Lu HaiKong.
At that moment, Lu HaiKong's gaze returned, and his face showed a hint of disappointment.
"If I hand over the Divine Valor Pill, will you really let me go?" Lu HaiKong asked.
As soon as Lu HaiKong spoke, the leader's eyes flashed with disdain. He thought that Lu HaiKong was someone extraordinary, but now he was cowering after being surrounded. He planned to kill Lu HaiKong after obtaining the pill, and he didn't care about the consequences. Why would he keep Lu HaiKong alive for the New Year?
Of course, he wasn't going to admit this openly. He still hoped to trick Lu HaiKong into giving up the pill.
"Enough, don't say another word. Your expression has already spoken for you. I can see that you want not only the Divine Valor Pill but also my life, right?" Lu HaiKong's lips curled in mockery.
The man was taken aback by his words, sensing something amiss. But before he could react, the leader, confident in his advantage, shouted, "Stop your damn blabbering! Hand over the pill or your life, you son of a bitch!"
"How long has it been since I last took action? You puny little worms dare to draw your blades in front of me?" Lu HaiKong muttered, answering a different question.
"Don't you dare blow smoke in my face. I know that Lu HaiKong's strength comes from historical generals like Dian Wei and Wen U. Now that those generals are gone, what can you do?"
"You'd better hand over the Divine Valor Pill, or among us, there are many who want to get their hands on a weakling like you. If you don't hand over the pill, we'll drag you to the wall and end your life!"
The man's words sent a chill through the air, and everyone could feel the temperature drop by several degrees.
Lu HaiKong's mocking expression instantly turned cold.
Seeing Lu HaiKong's cold demeanor, the man's heart trembled. He felt that Lu HaiKong seemed a bit dangerous, and wondered if the intelligence was wrong. But upon closer inspection, he couldn't detect anything unusual about Lu HaiKong, so he calmed down but knew he couldn't hesitate any longer.
The leader pointed his long sword at Lu HaiKong and said, "Since you won't accept my offer, I'll have to force you to drink the bitter wine. Everyone, take down Lu HaiKong! You've never tried to capture a governor before, have you? Let's show you a good time!"
At the leader's command, several lone wanderers surrounding Lu HaiKong charged forward with ferocious roars.
Indeed, each of them was exceptionally skilled, and even the weakest had a strength of no less than seventy. In an instant, dozens of distinct auras soared into the sky, creating a breathtaking scene.
The dozens of auras resonated with each other, boosting the lone wanderers' morale tremendously. Their confidence in capturing Lu HaiKong skyrocketed, and some even had perverted dreams.
However, at that moment, a domineering aura rose to the sky.
This aura instantly shattered the combined might of the lone wanderers' auras.
These wanderers had barely grasped the situation when they witnessed Lu HaiKong's hands suddenly wielding a battle axe exuding a savage aura. Even more alarming, Lu HaiKong had already initiated the attack!
Lu HaiKong was unaware of any official rankings in the Enchanter world, but he knew that if such a list existed, he would never be ranked below the top. This was not only a matter of pride but also his self-perceived standing.
This self-assurance, though arrogant, was undeniably accurate.
As Lu HaiKong unleashed his power, an unparalleled Asura was born.
Before Lu HaiKong, those so-called master wanderers, those with strength above 80, and even the leader with strength nearing 90, all seemed as fragile as infants.
With Lu HaiKong's Unmatched Tyrant skill activated, his opponents' strength dropped by 3 points, and the few wanderers with unique warrior traits, couldn't even activate their special abilities when Lu HaiKong's warrior trait took effect.
However, Lu HaiKong was unaware of this, nor did he have any interest in finding out.
After months of inaction, Lu HaiKong's dormant bloodlust awakened, especially with the leader's taunts enraging him. Each strike of his axe was an extreme assault.
Each blow inevitably gave rise to a bizarrely beautiful spray of blood, and no one could withstand more than one strike.
Within three minutes, Lu HaiKong shattered their pride and plunged them into despair.
In this short time, the wanderers' confidence turned to fear and hopelessness.
They now realized they had been deceived. Lu HaiKong, with his strength around 80, was not as skilled in combat as they thought. The idea that Lu HaiKong relied solely on the abilities of historical warriors to dominate the battlefield was a lie.
It was all a deception, a false version of the truth!
Lu HaiKong was a demon, more terrifying than they could imagine.
Those who didn't reveal their twisted desires were fortunate to be swiftly killed by Lu HaiKong's axe. But those who dared to show their perversions were pinned down by Lu HaiKong's axe, crushed slowly into a bloody mess.
Witnessing the unrecognizable remains, they felt immense regret. How could they have been so foolish, so gullible as to believe such simple lies?
A mere mountain bandit who rose to become a powerful figure should never have been someone they could challenge!
Deep down, they knew their greed had led them astray, but this realization came too late. There was no turning back, and Lu HaiKong's slaughter would not permit it.
In just ten minutes, dozens of wanderers surrounding Lu HaiKong were reduced to a single leader.
"Don't kill me, I won't resist anymore, please don't kill me!" the leader begged.
Gone was his previous arrogance as he watched Lu HaiKong approach, terrified by the man with strength nearing 89. He couldn't even stand, paralyzed by fear.
It wasn't that he was particularly cowardly; it was the sheer terror emanating from Lu HaiKong.
"Stay back! I have items, powerful ones! I'll kill you if you come any closer!" he threatened.
Lu HaiKong's stride didn't falter. The leader's face was pale with fear.
With trembling hands, he repeatedly reached into his pockets, but nervousness made him fumble, unable to produce any items. By the time he managed to retrieve one, Lu HaiKong was already before him.
Seeing Lu HaiKong so close, the leader froze, wanting to speak, but before he could, Lu HaiKong struck with four swift axe blows, turning him into a lifeless husk.
Lu HaiKong wasn't about to let the man who had angered him off so easily. He wanted him to suffer.
"Press him down, don't let him die too quickly!" Lu HaiKong commanded mercilessly, then turned away, surveying the battlefield strewn with bodies like a field of Asuras. This man, once a recluse, showed no emotion.
After scanning the area, finding no one left, Lu HaiKong strode away with his troops.
Shortly after Lu HaiKong's departure, in a corner about a hundred meters from the battlefield, a figure emerged from the shadows, cloaked in black.
The figure cautiously observed the horrific scene, eager to gather information, but remained motionless.
After a while, the figure spoke quietly, "As expected, an attack of this magnitude is insufficient to defeat Lu HaiKong. But failure in the light doesn't mean the dark won't succeed!"
