Chapter 679: Only One Left
Chapter 679: Only One Left
If he were to seriously engage in a fight with Sagel without the option to retreat, he would definitely lose.
"Everything is fine now, so I will take my leave. I still need to report to Titch and Red Hair, Sagel."
Yellow Monkey looked at Sagel, "Some things are not as simple as you think."
With that, he transformed into a ball of yellow light, disappearing into the sky and reappearing on a warship. The Marine fleet also turned its course at that moment, steering away from the area.
"Tch, how complicated could it be? Just find the source."
Sagel looked in the direction of Mariejoa, a sinister smile spreading across his face. "I have no interest in historical secrets, but I do have some expertise in unraveling tangled threads."
Burning the entire tangled mess and weaving it anew in the direction he desired—this was what Sagel excelled at.
Some chessboards were good, so he continued playing.
Some chessboards were bad, so he simply overturned them and started anew.
For example, right now.
"Let's head back, Lily."
With a swift movement, he rode a cloud and landed on the Damnation Star. Lily leaped and transformed into a bolt of lightning, appearing behind Sagel.
As soon as they reached the deck, Buggy instinctively shielded the unconscious girl, eyeing Sagel warily.
"Sagel, this is Shanks' only daughter. She, she—"
Although Buggy found it hard to speak under Sagel's intense gaze, his actions spoke volumes.
Sagel, still radiating the overwhelming aura from his recent defeat of Red Hair, was a terrifying presence.
Even Crocodile and the others fell silent upon seeing Sagel, subconsciously avoiding any interaction with him.
It wasn't that they were afraid, but rather their instincts, or their perception of his aura, made them avoid communicating with such a powerful being.
Under normal circumstances, no one would dare approach someone radiating Conqueror's Haki.
But Buggy broke this rule.
This made Mihawk, who was slightly taken aback, feel a bit surprised.
He had to admit that Buggy had his merits, including his incendiary speech on Cale Bali Island, which was indeed effective. However, this time, Buggy's courage in speaking up to a powerful figure, despite being weaker, shone even brighter than his oratory skills.
In a sense, Buggy couldn't be considered a weakling anymore.
"Am I such a low-quality person? When I say something, I mean it."
Sagel waved his hand, "Don't worry, brother. This is a promise I made. As long as she's not dead, I will bring her back to life."
With that, he extended his finger and touched the unconscious Uta. The aura of Conqueror's Haki swept past Buggy and entered Uta's forehead. Her body visibly trembled, and her previously fading breaths gradually stabilized.
He wasn't restoring her life force; he was simply allowing her exhausted body, which couldn't even sleep, to fall into a deep slumber.
Uta's condition was a result of prolonged sleep deprivation and overuse of her powers, leading her to a point where she couldn't even rest, causing her life force to weaken.
But Sagel could help. He didn't need to force her to live like he did with Pedro; he just needed to let her sleep.
"This sleep will be long. It's best to find a doctor to keep her nourished until she wakes up. By then, she should be fully recovered. Buggy, you and Shanks were once on the same ship. Given your current relationship, I'll leave the decision of what to do with her in your hands."
Sagel said, stepping toward the captain's cabin with a grin. "For now, crew, set sail! Inform Ohara that I'm throwing a grand banquet! Celebrate my defeat of another Emperor! Ha-ha-ha-ha!"
One more plan was completed.
Only one remained.
And it was the most crucial one, the one that would perfect Sagel's vision.
"You won't be able to resist, unless you give up on your ambitions. I have a longer lifespan than you, Titch."
Sagel looked up at the sky, "I wonder how you'll play this game!"
