Chapter 671: She's Just My Sister
Chapter 671: She’s Just My Sister
Soon, the 40 minutes were up, and it was 11:10 AM.
After 40 minutes of intense effort, the 500 players led by Zhong Feng and the joint government soldiers overcame numerous obstacles, breaking through the base's outer psychic barrier and finally entering the facility.
"Phew! Finally in!" Zhong Feng wiped the sweat from his forehead and heaved a sigh of relief once they were inside.
The other players and soldiers also broke into smiles, feeling that their 40 minutes of hard work had not been in vain.
Zhong Feng leaped into the air, hovering halfway up, and turned to his deputy, Old Meng, saying, "Old Meng, divide everyone into groups of 20 and quickly secure this base. Follow the same protocol as before—don’t enter any suspected danger zones, and if you encounter resistance, neutralize it on the spot!"
"Got it!" Old Meng replied crisply.
Under his command, the various teams quickly dispersed, moving along the roads to occupy different areas of the base.
All the Skrulls within the base had already been subdued by the Great Cultivators, so the teams faced no significant danger as long as they avoided any special experimental zones.
Standing 100 meters in the air, Zhong Feng looked down at the massive base, a hint of joy appearing on his usually stern face.
The base was intact!
This was a huge piece of good news for the humans of Earth!
The two previous massive bases that the Earthlings had captured were in much worse shape. The Yunlu Mountain base was filled with powdered dust, and the Kunlun Mountain base had been stripped of everything the Skrulls could carry away. Even the equipment, instruments, and heavy weapons that couldn’t be taken were destroyed, leaving the Earthlings with nothing but a hollow shell and a pile of debris.
But this base was different!
It was in pristine condition, with all areas functioning normally. The antimatter railgun at the center of the base gleamed with a dark luster.
The intact state of this massive base was of immense significance to humanity. They could analyze many advanced technologies here. While the top-tier weapon, the antimatter railgun, couldn’t be replicated in the short term, the existing one would greatly enhance the Earth’s military defenses.
Zhong Feng couldn’t help but think that Su Yu and the Great Cultivators had done an outstanding job!
The various teams below shared Zhong Feng’s excitement. Seeing that the base was in such good condition, they moved quickly, occupying every corner, especially the central antimatter railguns.
These railguns were the most valuable trophies the Earth had captured, and they couldn’t afford to lose them.
Just as Zhong Feng was basking in his joy, Xiaotian flew straight up to him from below.
Xiaotian had been part of the 500-strong team and, as an "Elite" template, was the strongest among them. She had played a major role in breaking through the raging psychic barrier.
She wasn’t particularly concerned about the base’s condition. As she approached Zhong Feng, she looked around and asked, "Where’s Kexing? Have you seen the Snow Leopard?"
Zhong Feng scanned the area from the sky and finally pointed to a small square in the distance. "He’s over there."
The psychic energy around the small square was so dense it was almost tangible, and the Great Cultivators had definitely gathered there.
"Let’s go find Kexing then!" Xiaotian looked in the direction Zhong Feng pointed and quickly flew off.
Zhong Feng hurried to follow.
Before long, Zhong Feng and Xiaotian arrived in the sky above the small square.
Su Yu and the Great Cultivators saw them arrive and promptly finished their psychic energy recovery, greeting them warmly.
Little Tian also spotted Tina and Alyssa beside Su Yu, but she didn't think much about it. Instead, she dove straight into Su Yu's arms.
Su Yu didn't expect her to do this and could only gently catch her.
The moment he caught Little Tian, he suddenly felt three sharp gazes piercing his back, making him feel as if he were being pricked by needles.
Startled, Su Yu quickly sent a mental message to them: "Don't think too much of it. I only see her as a little sister."
Upon receiving his message, the three gazes softened somewhat.
Little Tian looked up at Su Yu's face from his arms, her eyes filled with concern. "Kesheng, how are you? Did you get hurt in the battle just now?"
"I'm fine, just a bit drained," Su Yu said, placing Little Tian gently on the ground without showing any discomfort.
Feeling Su Yu's awkwardness, Little Tian couldn't help but glance at Tina and Alyssa behind him, her big eyes reflecting a mix of emotions.
Before, she hadn't taken Tina and Alyssa seriously, considering them mere NPCs in the game who posed no real threat to her.
But now that they had entered the real world, and she was at a significant age disadvantage, could her first love be coming to an end so soon?
Seeing Little Tian's expression, Su Yu quickly guessed what she was thinking.
He knew he couldn't dwell on this issue, so the best course of action was to divert her attention.
"Zhong Feng, Little Tian, I'll leave this giant psychic spring to you two. I'm planning to head to the next giant spring with the Great Cultivators and try to secure a couple more," Su Yu said, laying out his plan.
He wasn't worried about the Skrull spies overhearing, as the Great Cultivators had already set up a barrier to block both sight and sound.
As Su Yu explained his plan, Little Tian and Zhong Feng's expressions grew serious.
Once Su Yu finished, Zhong Feng nodded earnestly. "Alright, you should go quickly. The nearest giant spring is at Mount Fuji in Japan, and it will take some time to get there."
"Alright, we're off. We can chat more in the game if anything comes up," Su Yu said, pinching Little Tian's cheek and waving goodbye to both of them.
The other Great Cultivators also took flight, heading toward the supersonic fighter jets.
Just then, Zhong Feng suddenly activated a soundproof barrier, enclosing Su Yu, Little Tian, and himself within it.
He had something important to tell Su Yu. Although the Skrull spy satellites couldn't see them, he wanted to be extra cautious.
"What's up?" Su Yu asked, looking at Zhong Feng. The soundproof barrier told him that Zhong Feng had something to say.
Zhong Feng didn't waste time and got straight to the point. "Su Yu, in a week, Donna will open a spatial portal to Skrul. Are you planning to go to Skrul this time?"
"I'll pass this time," Su Yu answered after a moment's thought. "I haven't logged in to train for the past seven days, and my progress is already lagging behind my schedule. If I go to Skrul again, my training will be severely delayed, so I don't plan to go."
