Chapter 670: Destiny
Chapter 670: Destiny
"Dr. Orlin?" Shizuru's face was filled with surprise upon hearing this.
He looked at the screen and asked, "What's the matter?"
Just as Dr. Orlin's AI was about to respond, the screen flickered with static, and the communication was abruptly cut off.
Zero Zone Research Institute.
"What's going on?" Dr. Futo's AI was momentarily stunned.
Shizuru was slightly taken aback by the sudden disconnection. He tried to redial, but there was no signal on the other end.
"What's wrong?" Ki Shu noticed Shizuru's odd behavior and couldn't help but ask.
"Dr. Orlin suddenly called and said she needed my help with something," Shizuru recalled Dr. Orlin's expression and wondered if something had happened in Zero Zone.
Shizuru began getting dressed as he spoke, "I'll go and check it out."
Ki Shu was a bit concerned, "Zero Zone? Isn't that a very dangerous place?"
Shizuru smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry, I've been there many times. It'll be fine!"
As he spoke, Shizuru went upstairs to find Little Tree and said to her, "Little Tree, Daddy's going out for a bit. I'll play with you when I get back!"
Little Tree ran over, her footsteps echoing, "Where is Daddy going?"
"I have some errands to run," Shizuru patted her head, "Be a good girl and listen to Yandi and the others while I'm gone, okay? I'll be back soon."
"Okay!" Little Tree obediently agreed.
Shizuru went downstairs and looked at his Pokemon, asking, "Who wants to come out with me?"
Pupitar eagerly agreed, "Bamo!"
Swift Dragon nodded, "Roar!"
Gogoat, of course, was also coming along.
But the next moment, it heard Gogoat's warning, "Agasy!"
It didn't understand; it had become a very powerful Pokemon now and was certain it could help Shizuru! It had never had the chance to assist Shizuru like Swift Dragon and the others...
It was a firm 'no'!
Seeing the two Pokemon like this, Shizuru was momentarily dumbfounded.
He asked, puzzled, "Gogoat? Why are you like this?"
Gogoat turned to Shizuru, "Agasy!"
It was no longer the weak Pokemon it used to be! Gogoat stared at it, and the atmosphere became tense.
"Agasy." (If you want to go, prove your strength to me. If you win, I'll let you go. If you lose, you'll stay here and not cause any trouble.) Gogoat said.
As Shizuru and Pupitar looked on in confusion, the two Pokemon ran out of the house and into the outside world.
Shintaro hurriedly followed, and saw two Pokemon engaged in a battle.
Moto-Lizard vs. Gogoat.
Gogoat's strength was formidable. Moto-Lizard didn't even last a minute against it before losing its ability to fight.
Witnessing this, Shintaro couldn't help but furrow his brows. "Gogoat, what's wrong with you today?"
"Agasy," Gogoat pretended not to hear.
Shintaro went to treat Moto-Lizard's injuries, and the awakened Moto-Lizard looked dejected.
"It's okay, Moto-Lizard. You're already very strong," Shintaro comforted, feeling sorry for it. "When I return, I'll train you properly, and I'll make sure you surpass Gogoat."
"Gak?"
"Of course, I promise," Shintaro assured.
Then, he stood up, looked at Gogoat, and said, "You went too far today, Gogoat."
Gogoat hung its head. "Agasy..."
"Apologize to Moto-Lizard," Shintaro said.
[A strange sequence of characters that doesn't seem to translate.]
Upon hearing this, Gogoat looked at Moto-Lizard, and Moto-Lizard also turned to look at Gogoat.
Neither Pokemon spoke.
Shintaro: "..."
Shintaro decided to let it go for now, as he had more pressing matters to attend to.
He recalled Pupitar and Swift Dragon into their Poke Balls and said to Gogoat, "We'll talk about this when I return. Moto-Lizard, stay here for now. We'll be back soon."
Seeing that Shintaro no longer intended to take Moto-Lizard with him, Gogoat breathed a sigh of relief.
After this was over, Gogoat decided it would tell Shintaro everything! Once history was changed, it would disappear, and the Gogoat from the past could stay by Shintaro's side forever.
Carrying Shintaro, Gogoat flew high into the sky, heading straight for the Pantier Giant Pit.
At the farm, seeing Moto-Lizard's dejected state, Ki Shu offered comfort:
"Don't be sad, Moto-Lizard. You did great!"
"Gak?" Moto-Lizard lifted its head.
"You've always been helping Shintaro! Carrying Shinka fruits, harvesting crops, picking apples—you've been a great help!" Ki Shu reassured. "So, don't be sad. You did great!"
Hearing these words, Moto-Lizard seemed to find new determination.
"Gak!"
That's right! Although its strength might not match Gogoat's, Moto-Lizard was determined to help Shintaro. Looking up at the direction Gogoat had left, Moto-Lizard made up its mind.
While Ki Shu was inside preparing lunch, Moto-Lizard, eager to prove itself and show that it was now a strong Pokemon capable of protecting Shintaro, secretly followed.
Just as it was about to set off, a small hand reached out and grabbed it.
Moto-Lizard turned to see its young owner.
The little girl asked, "Moto-Lizard, are you going to see Daddy?"
Moto-Lizard nodded. "Gak!"
"Then, when will you come back to play with me? I want to go catch butterflies on the World Tree with you!" she said.
Since she was little, Moto-Lizard had often taken her to the flower fields on the World Tree to chase butterflies, where they played with many other Pokemon.
Moto-Lizard thought for a moment and replied, "Gak."
"Come back soon, okay?" the little girl urged.
"Gak~" Moto-Lizard readily agreed.
