At midnight tonight, Dusk Divide will officially be released.
Success or failure, the truth will be revealed.
Before releasing this book, I was a bit anxious, unsure if this type of folk horror would be well-received on Qidian.
Now, one month after the release, the response from everyone has been very comforting. Whether it's reader enthusiasm, monthly votes, or favorites, everything has far exceeded my expectations.
Especially towards the end, the book even managed to top the new releases chart, staying there for a day and a half.
Sadly, it dropped off the next day when the word count limit was reached.
But the goal was achieved, and I'm secretly thrilled.
Now, let's be straightforward. I know what everyone is concerned about, and I'll address it clearly.
First, the issue of word count. My previous two books were a bit short. I could make excuses, like saying my outline was just that way, or that the story was complete even without padding, but the readers are always right. Short is short.
So, the first thing I can promise is that this book will definitely be longer. At least three million words, aiming for four or five. That's my commitment.
(I must add, even though Mystic's End was short, it still got a Galaxy Award nomination. Humph!)
Next, the update issue. During the new book period, I've been putting in a solid three thousand words per chapter. I'm not the type to go for sudden bursts of updates, but I'll do my best to be consistent.
Under the premise of maintaining quality, I'll ensure daily updates of at least six thousand words, with occasional extra updates depending on my state, or when I need to boost the rankings.
As for today, there will be two updates after midnight, and three more around noon.
In short, reading the book is fun, but missing chapters is painful.
I'll do my best to make sure everyone enjoys it without missing a beat at crucial moments.
