Chapter 67: All Martial Dao of the World, United in One Strike
Chapter 67: All Martial Dao of the World, United in One Strike
February 2nd—the Dragon Raises Its Head.
Three years had passed since Lv Yang’s visit to Wang Boyuan.
During this time, Lv Yang had reunited with the other Martial Dao Celestials. Some had been amiable, others brutal, and a few had even tested their skills against him in battle.
Yet Lv Yang’s gains were immense. He finally grasped the fourth step of the Martial Dao—Pursue the Transformation of Heaven and Humanity—with profound clarity. His previously dormant spirit now surged with vitality, his blood and energy seeming to burst from his body in a wondrous, exhilarating sensation.
That night, a moonless sky blazed with stars, and a biting wind howled through the streets.
The Heavenly Capital, usually aglow with lanterns, was oddly silent. Tonight, many homes were shuttered and bolted, leaving the grand city eerily desolate.
Down a pitch-black lane, only Lv Yang strode forward alone.
“This Heaven and Humanity Path certainly holds surprises,” he murmured, calmly observing the flow of his vital energy. His blood felt alive now—nimble, vibrant, as if it had gained sentience!
“The Pursuit of Heaven and Humanity’s Transformation has two phases. The first is ‘Human Change’—perfectly uniting a cultivator’s blood and spirit. The second is ‘Heavenly Change’—resonating the blood and spirit within with the grand cosmos without.”
The more he pondered, the more his aura intensified.
Rippling—
Suddenly, a blade of light slashed through the darkness, dazzling and radiant, illuminating the street with a beauty that outshone the heavens.
Clang! Clang!
In response, golden radiance erupted around Lv Yang, layering over his body like a bell-shaped cage, shielding him.
The blade slammed into the golden bell, erupting into swirling steam and dazzling sparks. It pierced three layers before finally shattering on the fourth. Seeing his strike fail, the attacker disengaged instantly, retreating into the shadows.
Crack!
No sooner had the assailant withdrawn than a blazing sword qi cleaved through the air, carving a deep fissure in the ground where he’d stood.
“So, it’s you, Brother Ding.”
Lv Yang tilted his head, smiling faintly. “We haven’t met in a year, but your demonic blade has clearly improved. Breaking four of my Power Talismans? Impressive.”
He glanced at the curved blade in Ding Feiying’s hand—a crescent-shaped weapon, radiant as a rainbow yet steeped in malevolent aura, its very sight intoxicating and corrupting.
“Exiled Immortal Dishi Tian,” Ding Feiying replied, his voice calm but eyes burning with fervor. “Ji Xiongying says you’re the True Immortal of this age. Slaying you will perfect my blade technique!”
Lv Yang chuckled. “Relying on you alone would be overreaching.”
“If one isn’t enough, what of seven?”
As the words fell, shadows emerged from the darkness. At their forefront stood “Heavenly King” Ji Xiongying. The Martial Dao Celestial’s gaze burned with avarice so intense it felt predatory, as though he wished to devour Lv Yang whole.
Beside him was the disheveled “Sage-Heart Scholar” Wang Boyuan.
The street ahead and behind were now sealed off—by a monk with a sorrowful face and a Taoist priest wielding a fly-whisk.
From the Xuan Kong Temple—the “Devastation-Enduring Divine Monk” Xuan Ku.
From the Heavenly Master’s Mansion—the “Barefoot Taoist” Chang Qingjing.
Above, on the rooftop, a tall figure in a white gown gazed down—a woman as flawless as jade.
From the Hundred Blossoms Sect—the “Jade Immortal” Hua Xiangrong.
The final figure wore a dragon-embossed gauntlet, his burly frame clad in opulent robes, exuding a rugged ferocity.
The rogue cultivator—“Heavenly Alliance Lord” Guan Qiankun.
The Seven Martial Dao Celestials had gathered, encircling Lv Yang. Outside the alley, the clank of armor echoed—the imperial guards were here too.
All Martial Dao united to strike down one!
“What a spectacle,” Lv Yang mused, his expression serene. “But perfect. Today, I shall borrow your power to ascend—Skyshatter Ascension!”
With a thunderous laugh, he lunged forward, fist striking first at Xuan Ku.
The monk stepped forward, raising his palm to meet the blow.
Then—Lv Yang’s fist unfurled, revealing a Sword Qi Talisman hidden within his palm.
Clang! Clang!
Blazing sword qi erupted, splitting Xuan Ku’s forehead. When the light faded, however, the monk stood unshaken, his golden-hued skin gleaming, his blood roaring like a river. The Talisman had only drawn a single drop of blood.
“Amitabha,” Xuan Ku intoned, palms pressed.
“Xuan Ku’s physique truly is peerless!” Ji Xiongying roared in delight, signaling the others to attack.
But Lv Yang merely smiled, withdrawing a thick stack of Power Talismans.
Boom!
In an instant, dozens of Talismans scattered through the air, their multicolored light illuminating the night. The alley’s buildings crumbled to dust as Lv Yang’s aura surged higher.
“Hahahaha! It’s happening! I’m ascending!”
His eyes wild, he laughed hysterically. “Skyshatter Ascension! After a thousand years, today I ascend!”
The Celestials exchanged glances.
Skyshatter Ascension?
They had believed the path ended at Celestial cultivation. But now—was there truly a higher realm?
Even the watching Yun Clan Patriarch frowned.
“Nonsense! Impossible!”
The Martial Dao’s Fourth Step was his own discovery, propagated through Wang Boyuan. He knew—it was a dead end. There could be no further progress.
“This is deception! A fabrication!”
His mind raced. “But if there’s deception, I’ll expose it. If there’s a flaw, his Sage Body Theft Cultivation will fail. He’ll have to abandon that formation and fall into my trap.”
Yet unease prickled the Patriarch. Something felt… off. The karmic threads were shifting against him.
“Enough. Sever his avatar now—before it’s too late.”
He twisted his hands, channeling karma into the void. “Now!”
Simultaneously, Ji Xiongying, who had paused to probe the “Skyshatter Ascension,” suddenly snapped into action.
“Don’t be fooled!” he barked. “This ‘Skyshatter Ascension’ is mere illusion. With our seven divine weapons arrayed, we’ll slay him and share eternal life!”
