Chapter 669: Trace of the Immortal Deity
Chapter 669: Trace of the Immortal Deity
"It's not a Xian Tian Jin Xian."
Meng Lang's response made Zhu Xi's brows furrow again, a hint of disappointment in her heart.
She hadn't guessed it to be a Balanced Heaven Immortal because she thought such a transcendent being couldn't possibly be trapped here.
She stared at Meng Lang, hoping he could persuade her.
What kind of assurance did Meng Lang have that he could help her escape?
If he didn't explain clearly, she wouldn't leave with him.
Meng Lang looked ahead. The Xian Tian Jin Xian was still giving an impassioned speech, stirring the blood of those present, filling their hearts with intense determination.
Rather than wait to die, they might as well fight to the death.
"The waters of the Taiwei Great World are truly deep", Meng Lang, or rather, Gu An, thought to himself.
In the Heavenly Spirit Grand World, Gu An had divined that Zhu Xi was in trouble, so he came to assist her. He transformed into Meng Lang to avoid entangling too much karma.
Upon arriving in the Taiwei Great World, Gu An discovered that this vast world harbored several Grand Luo Immortals, some of whom were beyond the reach of heavenly karma.
He had heard before that among the Three Thousand Great Worlds, a few had far deeper foundations than the others. Today, he learned it was true.
The Xian Tian Jin Xian had set up an array, believing it could block any prying eyes, making it easier to stir the hearts of the people. Little did he know, a Tai Qing Jin Xian was watching him from above the heavens.
Indeed, it wasn't a Balanced Heaven Immortal, but a Tai Qing Jin Xian. This Tai Qing Jin Xian stood above the heavens, toying with two beads in his hand. His face was cold, and his eyes reflected the scene of Zhu Xi and others gathering together.
If Gu An didn't intervene, Zhu Xi would follow these people out and be captured by the Tai Qing Jin Xian. She would then be taken to a training ground and ultimately refined into a ghost artifact.
Moreover, Gu An sensed the qi of a Xianshen in the Taiwei Great World, located deep within the Divine Court, even stronger than the Taiyi Immortal Lord. This made Gu An speculate about the relationship between the Taiwei Divine Court and the Heavenly Court.
"If you don't explain clearly, I can't go with you. Who are you, and what makes you so confident you can help me?" Zhu Xi's voice interrupted Gu An's thoughts.
Gu An smiled. "Don't ask so many questions. Just watch."
Zhu Xi's frown deepened. She was about to say more when the Xian Tian Jin Xian suddenly released a powerful aura, capturing her attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, once the escape plan is confirmed, we must act immediately. We can break out now. I will open a tunnel, but I don't know where it will lead. It's most likely to the Divine Court's interior. What we do next will depend on the situation."
The Xian Tian Jin Xian cast a spell as he spoke, and a black hole appeared in front of him, rapidly expanding. It was surrounded by intertwining spacetime lightning, and the darkness within was chilling, making it look terrifying.
Once the black hole stabilized, he led the way, and the others followed closely.
Some hesitated, but seeing the others go in, they gritted their teeth and followed.
Zhu Xi was about to ask Gu An a question when she saw him follow the others.
This seemed absurd to her.
His plan was to follow these people?
What was the point of all that talk earlier?
Without him, she would have followed too!
Zhu Xi cursed inwardly a few times before stepping forward to follow.
She came up behind Gu An, glaring at his back with a hostile gaze.
If looks could kill, Gu An would have been reduced to ashes by now.
The two of them stepped into the black hole. As soon as they entered, Zhu Xi's vision was swallowed by darkness, and even her divine sense couldn't pierce the gloom. Fortunately, she could sense the flow of spiritual energy and hear Gu An's footsteps ahead.
"Is this your plan? I would have followed him even without you!"
Zhu Xi gritted her teeth, her tone full of dissatisfaction.
Gu An's voice followed, "The real trouble will come when we get out. Without me, you would surely die."
This statement left Zhu Xi in a state of shock and uncertainty. She could only suppress her confusion and remain vigilant.
She didn't fully trust the Xian Tian Jin Xian leading them, but she had no other choice but to follow.
Their pace was quick, and Zhu Xi could clearly feel the spiritual energy becoming more concentrated along the way.
This indicated they were getting closer to the exit!
Zhu Xi grew more anxious, imagining what they might encounter once they emerged.
After a while,
Light finally appeared ahead, and Zhu Xi heard the voices of the people around her. Most of them were pleasantly surprised, not expecting to escape the oppressive land.
As the light ahead grew brighter, Zhu Xi gradually saw Gu An's back.
For some reason, she felt a sense of familiarity, as if she had seen this person's back before.
Soon, she followed Gu An into a burst of bright light. Her divine sense immediately recovered, and she sensed the people ahead stopping. She also stopped in her tracks.
She opened her eyes and looked forward, her face instantly turning rigid.
Not just her, but the other escapees also stared in disbelief.
Ahead lay a vast and magnificent forest, like another world, but everyone's gaze was fixed on the sky above the forest.
In the sea of clouds, countless figures in purple armor stood on the cloud tops, each wielding divine weapons. The number of people was impossible to count, and the overwhelming presence of the army filled the air.
The Xian Tian Jin Xian's face turned ashen, clearly not expecting so many enemies to be waiting outside.
"Your Highness, as the Crown Prince of the Divine Court, why are you plotting rebellion?"
A voice echoed across the heavens, causing a commotion among the escapees. They hadn't expected the Xian Tian Jin Xian to be the Crown Prince of the Divine Court.
Zhu Xi's brows furrowed tightly. She felt a sense of dread.
Clearly, she had been drawn into a much larger web of karma. If she hadn't been swayed earlier and stayed in the guarded land, she wouldn't be in this trouble now.
The Xian Tian Jin Xian took a deep breath, stepped forward, and shouted, "General Zhu, you are the Eternal Divine General of the Divine Court, having protected the great world countless times, revered by all. Now, the Divine Court has become a lackey of the Xianshen. In the past million years, countless innocent lives have been lost to the Divine Court's offerings to the Xianshen. Can you really remain indifferent?"
"That Xianshen is insatiable and ever-encroaching. One day, they will set their sights on the foundation of our Divine Court. We cannot afford to gamble!"
This statement only made the escapees more uneasy. How did the Xianshen get involved?
Even in the Taiwei Great World, the Xianshen were nothing more than a distant legend.
Like Zhu Xi, they all felt the situation had become extremely dire, involving the Crown Prince of the Divine Court and the Xianshen. Their likely fate was eternal doom.
Zhu Xi turned to look at Gu An, noticing that his face showed no signs of tension. This only made her more curious. How did he plan to help her escape?
Could it have something to do with the Xianshen?
From the Crown Prince's words, the Xianshen seemed extremely evil. However, for Zhu Xi, an outsider, the morality of this world was not her concern. She only wanted to escape.
