Chapter 665: Hey, Let Me Go, Kuro
Chapter 665: Hey, Let Me Go, Kuro
The tiny man spun around, only to see two members of the Officer Clan—one tall, one short—standing behind him. The pistol was now floating midair, slowly descending into the taller Officer Clan member’s hand.
“Give it back! Damn Navy!”
The tiny man yanked out a long spear from behind his back and charged forward, gripping it like a lance.
“Oh? A little guy with guts.”
Kuro glanced downward, snapped his fingers, and the earth beneath him suddenly stretched upward, forming into a stone hand that seized Leo.
“Tch! What the hell is this! Let go of me, you bastard!”
The tiny man thrashed wildly in the stone hand’s grip. The hand slowly lifted him upward until he was level with Lida’s eyes.
“A Tontatta?”
Lida leaned in curiously, poking the tiny man’s face with a finger. “Cute little guy. What’s this thing behind you? A tail? Like a bee’s?”
“I’ve got nothing to say to despicable Navy like you!”
The tiny man, realizing he couldn’t break free, stopped struggling and turned his head away angrily. “I know what you Navy are up to! You’re mistreating King Riku, and you’re planning to release that monster, Donquixote Doflamingo! I’ll make sure to kill him!”
“Oh? News travels fast. Is this from the royal court? Or just civilian gossip?”
Kuro raised an eyebrow, studying the tiny man. “Come to think of it, aren’t your Tontatta only allowed to show your faces near the royal family? Is it really okay for you to run off like this? And who said I’d release Donquixote Doflamingo? Don’t believe rumors so easily.”
“Eh? You won’t release him? You’ll keep him locked up?” The tiny man’s eyes widened.
When Kuro nodded, the tiny man sighed in relief. “So you’re not letting him go after all! You’re actually a good guy, huh. Sorry about earlier—I almost attacked you.”
The Tontatta Tribe, a primitive clan dwelling beneath Green Bit’s soil, were tiny beings—smaller than the palm of Kuro’s hand—but surprisingly strong, with strength rivaling that of full-grown adults.
Innately innocent and easy to trick.
“What’s your name?” Kuro asked.
“I’m Leo, a Sergeant of the Tontatta Tribe.”
Leo declared, “I heard the Navy was planning to free Donquixote Doflamingo, so I came here to assassinate him.”
Leo, the Tontatta Tribe’s “hero” and a Sergeant of the Tontatta Tribe.
That was all there was to it. As for that so-called Luffy Grand Fleet?
It had already been dealt with by Kuro, so naturally, there was no Grand Fleet anymore.
“That’s not true. I haven’t even decided yet. Don’t go barging into Navy bases, little guy.”
Kuro rubbed his chin. For such a tiny creature, he couldn’t even muster any killing intent.
“Lida, go play with him.”
He flicked his finger. The stone hand extended forward, releasing Leo into Lida’s grasp before the two walked off together.
“Kshhhkshhkshh, hey, Kuro, your security’s pretty lax, huh? I’ve got a Big Secret, you know. If someone kills me, it’ll be bad for everyone.” Donquixote Doflamingo chuckled darkly.
“I’m not interested in your secrets.”
Kuro shrugged, pulling out a cigar box and offering it forward. “Want one?”
“Kshhhkshhkshh, I don’t smoke. But if you’ve got some alcohol…”
“Hey, bring two bottles of sherry!”
Kuro nodded, shouting outside.
Soon, a Navy officer rushed in carrying two bottles of sherry.
Kuro flicked his finger, and the corks flew off both bottles. One soared toward Donquixote Doflamingo, while the other landed in Kuro’s hand.
“Loosen his chains a bit. Free one of his hands.” Kuro ordered the Navy officer.
“Yes, sir!”
As the Navy officer began unfastening the chains, Kuro’s other hand rested on his sword hilt.
Donquixote Doflamingo laughed. “Kshhhkshhkshh, do you really need to be so tense? I won’t run.”
“You expect me to take your word for it?” Kuro said coldly.
This was a bit risky. One misstep, and an accident could happen.
Once the chains were loosened, freeing Donquixote Doflamingo’s hand, he grabbed the floating bottle in midair and chugged it down in one gulp, exhaling sharply. “Kshhhkshhkshh, sherry, huh? Cheap Navy wine.”
“You should be grateful you’re getting any.”
Kuro took a few sips himself. “I’m letting you drink this out of respect for your time as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. And you’re still disgusted?”
“Kshhhkshhkshh, oh well. Anyway, you’d better keep a close eye on me during this time. Watch out for the World Government.”
Donquixote Doflamingo said, “If I die, those guys will become even more reckless, and that’ll interfere with your plans.”
“That’s got nothing to do with me.”
Kuro bit down on his cigar, exhaling a plume of smoke. “I don’t have any plans. But you won’t die—you’re already locked up. If I’d dealt with you myself, you wouldn’t even have this chance.”
“Kshhhkshhkshh, I know you. You never show mercy, whether it’s pirates or your own mentor.” Donquixote Doflamingo grinned.
Kuro raised an eyebrow. “If you want to die, just say so. I’d be happy to oblige.”
Donquixote Doflamingo smirked, taking another swig of wine. “Let’s talk about something else first. You planning to overthrow Riku? And—do you have the authority to release me?”
Kuro’s expression remained blank. “I’ve considered it. But your chances are still slim.”
“You shouldn’t talk like that, Kuro.”
Donquixote Doflamingo’s voice dropped low. “Hey, let me go. I can still be useful to you. The world isn’t ready for you to go on a rampage yet.”
“I haven’t decided yet.”
Kuro narrowed his eyes. “Know why your chances are so low? Mainly because you lost. Right?”
The words left Donquixote Doflamingo speechless, his face darkening.
In the end, he had lost.
To a couple of rookie pirates.
A humiliation that would haunt him forever.
“If you lose, don’t make so many demands.” Kuro exhaled another puff of smoke. “I warned you about this long ago.”
“Indeed. Losers don’t get to make demands.”
Suddenly, a cold voice cut in from behind Kuro.
Donquixote Doflamingo’s lips curled into an exaggerated smirk. “Kshhhkshhkshh, some heavyweights have arrived.”
Kuro furrowed his brow but didn’t turn around. “You crossed the Navy’s security line? Can’t you people just walk in like normal? Why insist on sneaking around like this?”
Behind him, four figures in white coats appeared, three of them wearing masks.
The leader, unmasked, was a man with a peculiar mustache, wearing a white top hat, a long white coat, and a white dress uniform with his collar wide open.
“Rob Lucci.”
Kuro turned his head slightly, his tone indifferent. “Long time no see.”
