Chapter 66: Art is an Explosion
Chapter 66: Art is an Explosion
Compared to the troubled Slytherins, the atmosphere in Gryffindor was much more cheerful, especially after seeing Sevn Rozier storm out of the Great Hall, which made them laugh even harder.
"George, is this the Firebolt 2000?"
As soon as the Slytherins had left, a tanned boy with long hair eagerly approached the twins, urging them, "What are you waiting for? Let us see it already."
His words instantly gained approval from the others, "Yeah, open it and let us have a look."
"Merlin's beard, this should be the best broomstick around, even professional teams might not have the Firebolt 2000."
However, despite the urging of the crowd, Fred and George showed no intention of opening the package.
George looked disdainfully at his side and said, "Hey, Lijordan, I'm Fred. You still can't tell us apart?"
"Sorry, Fred, I can see..."
"No, I'm Fred."
Beside him, the real Fred hooked his shoulder, "Are you falling for such a simple trick? Honestly, I'm starting to doubt if you're really our best friend."
Poor Lijordan was completely confused. Looking at the two identical faces beside him, he couldn't find any differences at all.
They were basically clones.
"Okay, Fred and George, I'm sorry." Lijordan shook his head and took a deep breath, "No matter who you are, can you let me see the Firebolt 2000, just a glance.
Please."
If it were any other time, Lijordan would have pointed at the twins' noses, belittled their tasteless prank, and even thrown in some slang insults.
But now, instead of doing that, he apologized and lowered his stance.
There was no choice; when under someone's roof, one had to bow. As a loyal Quidditch enthusiast, the allure of a yet-to-be-released broomstick was simply too great. If he didn't get to see it, he would definitely lose sleep over it.
"What Firebolt 2000?" Fred glanced at him and said, "I don't understand what you're talking about. Our broomstick is the old Cleansweep Five."
"I know you want to keep it a secret..." Lijordan looked around and said, "But now the Slytherins are all gone, and we're surrounded by our people. It's fine to just take a quick look..."
Fred and George remained silent.
"Why don't we go back to the Common Room?" someone suggested, "It'll be safe to look there."
"You can't do this..." some young wizards from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw protested, "We want to see it too."
But no one cared about their opinions now.
The Gryffindors surrounded the twins and rushed out of the Great Hall in a swarm.
However, when they reached the portrait of the Fat Lady, they found that Fred and George had disappeared.
"They must have slipped away when we went upstairs."
Lijordan felt wronged, "How mean of them to even be on guard against their own people!"
By noon, the atmosphere at the Slytherin table was still heavy.
For the entire morning, they searched all over Hogwarts but didn't even see a shadow of Fred and George. It was as if the two had vanished into thin air.
Additionally, those who had sent letters home had no luck either. Some hot-tempered parents even scolded them in their replies, telling them to focus more on their studies and stop daydreaming about unrealistic things.
Sevn Rozier was one of them.
"Firebolt 2000? I have a Firebolt 2100, you want it or not!"
He crumpled the reply letter in his hand and was about to throw it away when he suddenly thought of something and pulled his hand back, angrily asking, "Still no news?"
The people around him exchanged glances, but no one spoke.
"Useless!"
Just as Rozier was about to flip the plate, a Slytherin player rushed over.
"Captain, I've heard something."
Marcus Flint, with his mouth wide open, revealing a row of large teeth, said, "When I passed by the Quidditch Pitch, I saw the Gryffindor team there. They must be trying to secretly test the brooms' performance while we're having lunch in the Great Hall."
Rozier looked up.
Sure enough, none of the Gryffindor team members were in the Great Hall.
"Captain, should we go take a look?" Marcus asked tentatively.
"Let's go!"
Without hesitation, Rozier led the group towards the Quidditch Pitch.
Just as Marcus had said, the Gryffindor team members were indeed there, but they weren't training or testing brooms; they were... fighting? To be precise, the Weasley twins were fighting, and the others were trying to stop them.
Upon seeing this, Marcus exclaimed with delight, "A conflict within Gryffindor?"
The match was in the afternoon, and this internal discord among their opponents was a huge advantage for Slytherin.
Additionally, Rozier noticed that the package delivered by the owl in the morning was placed near the corridor where they were.
And there was no one around to guard it.
...
A moment later, the Slytherin members left the Quidditch Pitch, huddling closely together, shielding the person in the middle.
They didn't return to the Great Hall to continue their meal, nor did they go back to the Common Room. Instead, they randomly found an empty classroom and entered.

After closing the door, they finally dispersed, revealing the person in the middle... and the slender package he was holding.
"Captain, can we hide it here?" Marcus asked with some concern. "I think we should just put it in the Common Room..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Rozier kicked him.
He wasn't trying to steal the broom; he just wanted to hide it before the match and prevent the Gryffindors from using it.
Hiding it in the Common Room was out of the question; what if someone accidentally let it slip?
The Slytherins stealing a broom? If this news got out, Professor Snape would be the first to punish them.
Rozier looked around and noticed that the tables were covered in a thick layer of dust, indicating that the room had been abandoned for a long time.
"Let's do it here, remember to hide it well," Rozier said.
But no one moved; they all stood in place, staring at the person holding the package.
After a long silence, someone suddenly suggested, "Why don't we open it and take a look? What if it's not a broom inside? We'd have wasted our efforts."
The others nodded in agreement.
"No, we can't open it."
Rozier firmly refused, snatching the package and placing it aside.
He knew the Gryffindors well; if the information was false, the package definitely wouldn't contain anything pleasant.
So, it was best to leave it untouched.
"Ho ho ho, clever little rascal."
A small, milky white dwarf suddenly appeared outside the window.
"Get lost, Peeves!" Rozier said sternly.
"Impolite little rascal, you'll get what's coming to you!"
Peeves, angry, smashed the glass and threw in a balloon filled with liquid.
The balloon didn't hit anyone but landed precisely on the package.
It's unclear if it was because of the water or some other reason, but the package began to swell violently.
"I knew it... damn Peeves!"
Rozier turned to leave, but the door was jammed, and it couldn't be opened from the inside.
He drew his wand, "Explosion Charm..."
"Bang..."
With a loud bang, the package finally exploded, and a strong stench instantly filled the entire classroom.
