Chapter 659: You Have to Trust Me
Chapter 659: You Have to Trust Me
Finally, the exams were over! Albert carefully reviewed his answers before submitting his Potions exam paper. He then left the stiflingly hot classroom to the envy of his classmates, stepping out into the fresh air.
Strolling leisurely across the sunny grounds, Albert stretched his body. He waited under the shade of a tree on the courtyard lawn, and soon spotted a figure approaching.
"How did it go today?"
Albert offered the drink in his hand to the red-haired girl sitting beside him. "Want some?"
"It was pretty easy," Isabelle replied lazily, yawning and taking a sip from the can of Coke Albert had handed her. "It tastes a little strange, but it's very refreshing in this hot weather."
"Iced Coke is perfect for summer," Albert agreed, waving his wand to transform the Coke bottle into a group of colorful butterflies. He watched as they flew carefree into the distance and then asked, "By the way, do you have any plans for the summer vacation?"
"Are you planning to invite me to go abroad again?" Isabelle thought back to what had happened during their last vacation, eyeing the guy in front of her with suspicion. His intentions were clearly not pure.
"Something like that," Albert said with a nod.
"So, it's a 'sort of' invitation?"
"It's an invitation to France. But it's not for a vacation. Mr. LeMaire invited me to his home, you see, he's sort of my teacher," Albert explained seriously. "Would you like to come with me?"
"Nicolas Flamel?" Isabelle was a little surprised. She had heard the name from Albert before, but this invitation still caught her off guard.
"Can I come too?"
Albert recalled the images he had seen in his crystal ball and nodded. "Actually, Mr. Flamel specifically asked me to bring you along."
"He knows me? You mentioned me to him?" Isabelle was astonished that this renowned wizard knew of her.
"I did mention you, and Mr. Flamel is also a master of divination," Albert said as he stood up and looked toward the lake. "In fact, he knows a lot of things."
"Divination Master?"
As Albert mentioned divination, Isabelle caught a whiff of something unusual.
Given Albert's own talent in divination and prophecy, she was familiar with the style of divination masters. For one to invite her along on a trip and given his status, it was highly irregular.
"Do you think Mr. Flamel has foreseen something?"
"He didn't say," Albert shook his head. "But I guess he'll tell us when we get there."
"You don't know?" Isabelle looked at Albert with suspicion, her doubtful gaze making him feel a little guilty.
"Do you think I should know?"
"So, there are still things that you don't know?" A faint smile played at the corners of the girl's mouth.
"Being able to make prophecies doesn't make one all-knowing," Albert said, taking Isabelle's hand and slowly walking down the slope toward the lake. They sat down on the grassy lawn in the shade of a tree and enjoyed the cool breeze that caressed their faces.
"But I think you should know," Isabelle insisted.
"A woman's sixth sense?"
"Yes, a woman's sixth sense."
"A woman's sixth sense is always so irrational," Albert said helplessly.
"I think you'll definitely try to find out what the prophecy is, just like how cautious you were about the snake in the Chamber of Secrets," Isabelle said. After all these years, she knew Albert's character well.
"Okay, fine, I did make a prophecy and saw some images in my crystal ball," Albert admitted.
"What did you see?" Isabelle asked, her curiosity piqued.
"We got married," Albert said.
"Is that all you can think about now?" Isabelle teased, ruffling Albert's hair playfully. "That's no good, it'll affect your studies."
"A secret wedding," Albert added.
Isabelle stared at Albert for a long moment, seeing that he wasn't joking. Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she stammered, "B-but that's not normal. You're not even an adult yet."
"You actually blushed."
"Not everyone has a thick skin like you, and you're not even ready yet."
"I am ready."
"You're not an adult yet." Isabelle poked her boyfriend's chest to remind him.
"I know."
"No, you don't know." Isabelle found it absurd, but there was no doubt that Albert was serious, "You're still just a child, or we're still just kids."
"Are you seducing a minor?"
"That's not funny." Isabelle said with a straight face, "Okay, I admit that our mentality is more mature than others, but this is truly absurd."
"Don't worry, I can earn enough money to support you." Albert said earnestly.
"You know that's not what I'm worried about." Isabelle cupped Albert's face with her hands, hoping he would talk to her seriously about this matter.
"Do you know what my first thought was when I found out about this?" Albert put away his smile and suddenly said.
"What?"
"The Second Wizarding War is going to break out." Albert whispered, "Probably around 1996."
Isabelle's mouth hung open as she realized what this meant.
She knew that Albert intended to get married right after graduating, which meant the time would be the summer of 1996, at the latest, in the winter.
Just as the two of them were getting married, something very unfortunate happened, so in order to avoid any mishaps, Mr. LeMaire intended to bring their wedding forward?
But why not postpone it?
"Mr. LeMaire's stockpile of Elixir of Life will probably last until around 1996." As if guessing the girl's thoughts, Albert revealed another big secret, "I think he would definitely want to attend our wedding."
"I'm curious, how did you come to this conclusion?"
"I plan to finish my sixth year and then send my family away." Albert didn't answer, instead, he said, "Britain is no longer safe, and I stand out too much as a Muggle-born wizard, making me an easy target."
"If anyone else heard this, they would definitely think it's absurd."
In fact, Isabelle also thought it was absurd, but she knew that Albert wasn't lying.
"What are you going to do? The last Wizarding War was quite fierce, a lot of people died." Isabelle looked at Albert, wanting to see the answer she hoped for in his face.
"The Fidelius Charm."
"The Fidelius Charm?"
"It's an extremely complex spell that can magically hide a person's secret forever within the soul of a living person. As long as the Secret-Keeper doesn't reveal it, no one will ever be able to find us."
"You already have a suitable candidate?" Isabelle asked with raised eyebrows.
"Yes, there's absolutely no need to worry about betrayal."
"I thought you would stay away from Britain and avoid all danger."
"I don't plan on leaving just yet." Albert fell silent for a moment, then shook his head, "My friends are still here fighting, and I need to provide them with some help. Besides, as I said, this is both a crisis and an opportunity."
"Your words are always so enigmatic." Isabelle stared at Albert for a long time.
"I trust you." she said, "I believe that you will definitely find a way to solve all the problems, you have never let me down."
"Even though you say that, I still feel a lot of pressure." Albert mumbled.
"Who told you to always say inexplicable things." Isabelle rested her head on Albert's shoulder, "It's good that the future foretold in divination can be changed."
"It's difficult, but it can be done." Albert whispered soothingly, "You have to trust me."
"I do."
