A purple aura erupted around him, intercepting the fire column.
The flames abruptly reversed course, lifting upward as gravity shifted.
"Mother! I'm losing control!" Prometheus cried from her hand.
"What? Who are you?!" Charlotte·Big Mom's bloodshot eyes locked onto Yi Xiao.
"I am Yi Xiao, newly promoted to Admiral Position after the World Recruitment", he said politely, his tone almost mocking. "What terrifying emotions and aura! Miss, why such a temperamental disposition?"
"Admiral? Are you Vegapunk?" Charlotte·Big Mom glanced between Yi Xiao and Kuro, hesitating momentarily.
"Mother, an Admiral plus that annoying Kuro makes two opponents. Mother, we should retreat", Zeus, the dark clouds, interjected anxiously.
"Silence, Zeus!"
She glared at her weather creation, narrowing her eyes. Though notoriously hot-tempered, she wasn't foolish. Even in her most ravenous moments, her judgment remained sharp.

Kuro acted decisively, drawing Autumn Water in a flash. A golden slash erupted skyward, cleaving through the thundercloud and striking the Birdcage above. The structure trembled briefly before the energy dissipated.
"Ugh! I've been severed, Mother!" the thundercloud cried, reforming but visibly retreating.
Kuro immediately activated his Transponder Snail, dialing a number.
The call connected swiftly.
"Moer, did you see that golden slash? Come here."
"Huh?" A confused voice responded, then in an instant, a white glow flared beside him—Moer materialized.
He hung up the snail, asking, "Vice Admiral Kuro, you summoned me?"
Before the question finished, his gaze locked onto the colossal figure beyond the Birdcage. He froze. "Big·Mom?! What the hell's going on? Why is Big·Mom here?!"
"She's right here. No time to waste, Moer. Teleport me and Yi Xiao out of this cage."
Kuro glanced at the approaching thundercloud and Charlotte·Big Mom's flame-wreathed fist preparing another strike.
"Eh? Just that? Great! I thought you wanted me to fight. While I consider myself capable, facing a monster like this? No way I could handle it. I'm no one who can use sheer willpower to block attacks."
Moer sighed in relief, rushing to Kuro's side and grabbing his arm. "If that's all, I can do it."
In a flash, white light enveloped them.
"Heavenly Fire!"
As Charlotte·Big Mom prepared to strike, her side erupted in blinding light. A shadowy afterimage appeared behind her. A Black Radiance laced with golden lightning slashed through the air.
Charlotte·Big Mom's pupils contracted. She immediately retracted her fist, her elbow swirling with white Haki flames, countering backward.

A black blade clashed against her elbow.
But in an instant, the blade—and its wielder—became a mere illusion. From behind her neck, Kuro reappeared, striking downward again.

White flames erupted at Charlotte·Big Mom's neck. The elasticity of her steel-balloon body caused Kuro's blade to recoil momentarily.
Yet the figure dissolved into another illusion. As the recoil occurred, Kuro rematerialized to her left, slashing toward her waist.
As he appeared, his previous illusions still lingered mid-slash.

This time, Charlotte·Big Mom countered with her left fist, gathering white flames to block Autumn Water. The impact sent Kuro skidding backward several meters, his boots carving glowing furrows into the ground.
Golden lightning and white flames intertwined, piercing the heavens and sending shockwaves across the earth. Debris and rubble floated upward, momentarily suspended in the air.
Charlotte·Big Mom grinned maliciously. "Little brat! Your speed's improved!"
Under her fist, Kuro's armored face bore a cross-shaped scar. Tear streaks marked his cheeks as he lifted his head, returning her grin. "This time, I'll settle the score from last time... Big Mom!"
