Chapter 654: Yu Sheng Mu Yue's Good Fortune
Chapter 654: Yu Sheng Mu Yue's Good Fortune
Upon entering Konoha, Enma disbanded the ninja forces and then led the four Kage to their accommodations within the village.
After all, the Kage were equals to Enma in status.
And now, as allies, Enma felt it was his duty as the Hokage to show them hospitality.
Before leaving, Enma specifically instructed Yu Sheng Mu Yue to visit the Hokage's office at 4 p.m. that afternoon, without revealing the exact reason.
"It's not a mission, it's something good," Enma smiled and patted Mu Yue's shoulder before turning to leave.
"So mysterious, why can't he just say it directly?" Deidara complained behind Mu Yue.
In the ninja novels he read, there were characters who spoke vaguely about destiny, which he despised. Why not just speak plainly?
"Perhaps he wants to create a sense of surprise," Kakashi analyzed calmly.
He wasn't fond of such behavior either; if you have something to say, either say it clearly or not at all.
"It depends on what the good news is. For Teacher Mu Yue, neither rewards nor ninjutsu can bring him surprise," Deidara thought that ordinary things couldn't surprise a sage like Mu Yue.
"Could it be that Teacher Mu Yue is going to become the Hokage!" Deidara suddenly exclaimed.
Deidara carefully considered the possibility and felt it was highly likely.
Mu Yue had made significant contributions, and with Enma gradually aging, it seemed only natural to pass on the Hokage position to him.
Kakashi remained silent.
Although Mu Yue was capable of becoming the Hokage, Kakashi felt that Enma wouldn't transfer the position at this time.
"Being the Hokage is not an easy task," Mu Yue shook his head.
In the original story, Enma quickly passed on the Hokage position to the most deserving candidate, Namikaze Minato, after the Third Shinobi World War. However, this didn't mean Enma would do the same for Mu Yue, despite his outstanding contributions.
In the original story, Enma's decision to pass on the position had multiple reasons. It wasn't solely because of Minato's achievements but also because Konoha had suffered heavy losses during the war. Despite being the victors, the village was severely weakened. Enma's decision to step down carried a sense of taking responsibility for the losses.
This time was different. With Mu Yue's intervention, Konoha emerged as the true winner of the Third Shinobi World War. They not only defended their reputation as the strongest ninja village but also received substantial war reparations, with minimal damage to the village itself.
Enma personally led the forces in the decisive final battle, contributing significantly to the ultimate victory.
Given his accomplishments and lack of failures, Enma didn't need to pass on the position so soon.
"It's more likely that I'll be appointed as the Hokage's Advisor," Mu Yue said.
After Danzo's death, Enma hadn't appointed a new advisor, leaving the position vacant.
Moreover, Mu Yue could sense Enma's intention to nurture him, and he guessed that Enma wanted to promote him to the advisor position.
Enma's plan might be to place Mu Yue in the advisor role for a few years, allowing him to become familiar with the Hokage's duties before passing on the position.
Kakashi nodded in agreement. While becoming the Hokage was challenging, the advisor position was a sure thing.
"The Hokage's Advisor, barely worthy of Teacher Mu Yue," Deidara said with a hint of disappointment.
Mu Yue tapped Deidara's head with his middle and index fingers, "The size of the position doesn't matter; it's about serving the villagers. Don't get carried away."
Although it might seem like a common occurrence in Konoha, Mu Yue genuinely didn't care about the Hokage position.
The reason was simple; his system was a teaching system, not a village prosperity system. Teaching his disciples was his primary responsibility.
Even if he became the Hokage, Mu Yue would choose to manage the village through shadow clones unless he no longer needed to enhance his strength.
But that was a distant future, as Mu Yue's goal was to surpass Kaguya otsutsuki, the final boss.
Mu Yue actually hoped that Namikaze Minato would become the Fourth Hokage, just like in the original story.
That way, he would have a close friend as the Hokage, and with his own position, he could accomplish almost as much as the Hokage.
"People with great abilities in high positions can do more good for the villagers," Deidara rubbed his head and chuckled.
"Don't spread rumors; it's just my guess. I'm not even sure if it's the advisor position," Mu Yue cautioned.
Mu Yue only spoke openly because his disciples were present; otherwise, he wouldn't have said anything.
"Go home and rest well. For the next month, you can all take a break as you wish," Mu Yue continued.
Although there was still the ancient evil, Black Zetsu, who hadn't been dealt with, Mu Yue decided to give his disciples some time to relax since Black Zetsu alone couldn't cause much trouble.
"A whole month!" Deidara exclaimed in surprise.
Taking a break after a mission was Mu Yue's usual practice, but it was usually only for a few days, and even a week was rare.
Kakashi couldn't help but show his astonishment.
"Hey, Kakashi, with such a long vacation, do you want to join me for a passionate training session?"
"Might Guy suggested to Kakashi.
Kakashi: ...
He didn't plan to take a whole month off, but he also didn't intend to start intense training right after the break."
Zhi Shui remained calm, as he still had to attend his training sessions at the Academy.
"The war is over, and you can afford to relax a little."
Upon reaching the intersection, Yu Sheng Mu Yue gave his disciples a warm smile and headed towards his house in the main city.
Along the way, Mu Yue opened the system panel to check on his disciples' life quests.
"In a few more days, Might Guy and Deidara should be able to complete their quests," Mu Yue thought as he looked at the progress on the panel.
Both Might Guy and Deidara's life quests required fame.
In the final battle, Deidara and his team's performance was outstanding, and as the news of the war spread, their life quest progress steadily increased. Now, it was close to reaching the 50% completion mark.
After returning home, Mu Yue created a Shadow Clone to clean the room, then headed to Tsunade's house.
Before going into battle, Tsunade had lent him the First Generation Necklace, saying it was a one-meal-a-day deal. Now, almost two months had passed, which meant he owed Tsunade sixty meals, and it was time to repay the debt.
"Teacher Mu Yue, you're back," Shizune, who was sweeping the yard, greeted Mu Yue with joy.
"Yeah, I just arrived," Mu Yue responded with a smile.
"Please come in, Teacher. I'll get you some tea."
Shizune put down her broom and invited Mu Yue into the house, preparing tea for him.
"Lady Tsunade got drunk again yesterday and hasn't woken up yet. Please wait a moment while I call her."
After pouring the tea, Shizune headed towards Tsunade's bedroom.
Seeing Tsunade lying on the bed in a sprawled-out position, snoring loudly, Shizune helplessly touched her forehead. Even her sleeping posture was worse than that of a twelve-year-old girl.
"Lady Tsunade, wake up! It's almost noon!" Shizune tugged at Tsunade's blanket, which was already twisted and turned, hoping the pulling sensation would wake her up.
"Stop bothering me, I'm sleeping," Tsunade scolded with her eyes closed.
"Teacher Mu Yue is back with groceries!"
"What did he buy? Did he get free-range chicken?"
Tsunade suddenly opened her eyes and asked, then, before Shizune could react, she quickly got out of bed, changed her clothes, and rushed to the living room at an incredible speed.
Shizune walked out of the bedroom with an exasperated expression and joined Tsunade in the living room.
"Good, Shizune, you dared to lie to me," Tsunade said, looking at Mu Yue who was sitting with empty hands, and reached out her evil hands towards Shizune's small face.
"Umm... I won't do it again," Shizune said with a pout.
Whenever Mu Yue visited Tsunade, he would usually cook, as she was worried that Tsunade wouldn't get to eat his delicious meals otherwise.
"You want to eat alone, huh?" Tsunade, who had been about to put down her hands, changed her mind and started to pinch Shizune instead.
"Cough, cough," Mu Yue coughed lightly, indicating that it was enough.
Only then did Tsunade let go of Shizune and sat down on the sofa.
Shizune looked at Mu Yue with grateful eyes, sometimes thinking that if Tsunade's personality could be half as good as Mu Yue's, her life would be so much happier.
"Congratulations, I've been hearing so much good news about you lately. Many people say you're the second Ninja God and the perfect candidate for the next Hokage," Tsunade said with a mischievous smile.
"Just say what you want," Mu Yue replied straightforwardly.
There's no such thing as a free lunch; if he hadn't even become the Hokage yet, the current Hokage, Enma, hadn't shown any respect towards Tsunade either.
"Since you've achieved so much with your Wood Style, shouldn't the rent for the necklace be adjusted? Borrowing it for three meals a day seems more reasonable." Seeing Mu Yue's straightforwardness, Tsunade dropped the act.
To be honest, when Tsunade heard the news from the battlefield, she was surprised.
It had only been a few months since Mu Yue developed his Wood Style, and yet he had gained such a huge reputation.
She couldn't tell if it was because Mu Yue's Wood Style was too extraordinary or if the Leaf Village had intentionally promoted it.
"What if the necklace breaks?" Mu Yue asked curiously.
When Susanoo's sword struck, the First Generation Necklace shattered instantly.
Izanagi resurrected Mu Yue, but it couldn't restore the necklace he was wearing.
"If it breaks? Then you'll have to pay for 99,999 days!" Tsunade paused for a moment, then casually threw out a very high number.
This necklace was important, as it was a memento left by Tsunade's grandfather.
But ultimately, it was just an inanimate object, and Tsunade would definitely not want the person she lent it to get into trouble.
"What if I could give you an identical necklace?" Mu Yue extended his hand, and a pale green crystal appeared in his palm.
He had cracked the technology of the First Generation Necklace and could create a necklace with the same effect.
However, this wasn't an easy task for Mu Yue at the moment. To ensure a decent quality, he had to consume a large amount of chakra.
So, Mu Yue only made two necklaces; one to return to Tsunade and the other to give to Kushina Uzumaki to suppress the Nine-Tails' chakra.
Tsunade's eyes widened, and her lips parted slightly in astonishment as she looked at Mu Yue.
Could he even replicate her grandfather's necklace? Was he truly the second Ninja God?
