Chapter 654: Let the Terrifying Handle the Terrifying
Chapter 654: Let the Terrifying Handle the Terrifying
On the highest platform of Dressrosa,
Panting on the ground, Law barely dodged Donquixote Doflamingo’s stomp as Luffy’s kick intercepted the attack. The shockwaves of their clashing Conqueror’s Haki rippled through the air.
Yet amidst the deafening roar and overwhelming aura erupting nearby, even these Conqueror’s Hakis seemed insignificant.
“Doffy! A terrifying one’s coming!” Trebol screamed from the sidelines.
“What the hell is that?!” Luffy twisted his head toward the source of the aura.
Donquixote Doflamingo chuckled, his malevolent grin widening. “Kshhhkshhkshh… He’s here.”
“Just what did you do, Mingo!” Luffy demanded.
Boom!
The pressure from their Conqueror’s Haki finally shattered the air itself, sending explosive shockwaves that blasted both fighters apart.
Luffy seized the chance, grabbing Law and leaping backward.
Doflamingo hovered midair, his grin twisting wider. “Want to know? I simply called in a little backup—Caesar Clown.”
He spat the name, “Ever since you fools tried to negotiate with me, I’d already sent word. She should be arriving right about now.”
Stretching his arms wide, he laughed maniacally toward the sky. “From the very start, I never expected Caesar Clown to survive your hands. Surviving the Grand Line means preparing for the worst.”
“Law, you think threatening me with Caesar’s life gives you leverage? Think again.”
Doflamingo’s eyes locked onto Law, still gasping in Luffy’s grip. “Kshhhkshhkshh… Caesar’s always been expendable. While he’s my valuable partner, there’s someone else who desires him even more than I do.”
As if summoned by his words, a phantom-like face loomed behind him—a colossal visage even more sinister than Doflamingo’s own wicked grin.
“Big·Mom!”
Doflamingo’s voice dripped with amusement. “That existence has been dying to claim Caesar for herself. If it’s her, even Kaido’s spearhead will point solely at her. This way, I can finally shake off Kaido’s threats. To me, Caesar was always a pawn. Though… I didn’t expect him to actually die at Kuro’s hands.”
His single hand clawed upward, his grin darkening. “That bastard doubted me, thinking I’d lose to you brats. That alone was enough to enrage me. And you? Daring to challenge me? Even entertaining the thought is an unforgivable insult!”
…
Beyond Dressrosa’s shores, a massive pink ship approached, its hull adorned with candy canes and sugar-coated railings. A towering ice cream cone crowned its mast, while candy-stick decorations and crystalline chips glittered along the deck. At its stern, a colossal candlelit double-layer cake glowed, and at the bow, a harlequin-shaped statue wearing a tricorn hat and crown sang endlessly. The ship itself seemed alive.
On the main deck, Charlotte·Big Mom’s face contorted with rage, her blue veins throbbing. “Kuro! You little brat! Killing Caesar Clown?! Destroying my dream of a giant?! You’ll pay for this!”
“Mother’s furious…” Pekoms muttered, adjusting his sunglasses. Beside him, Daifuku—the Long Leg Tribe man with an eggshell torso—glanced at Big Mom’s scarred shoulders.
“Ever since Golden Lion’s last visit, Mother’s been unstable,” Pekoms added. “But that Navy bastard wounded her this time.”
Daifuku clenched his fists. “Doflamingo’s a snake. He claimed Caesar might be captured by the Navy, so Mother rushed here. Then the Straw Hats had the gall to say Kuro killed Caesar. Of course she’d explode!”
Golden Lion. Lucius Kro. The same man whose name alone drove Big Mom to destruction. Since his return, Cake Island had been rebuilt more times than ever before.
“Let Mother crush him already!” Pekoms barked. “No one survives her wrath!”
Big Mom’s bloodshot eyes pierced the distance, her Observation Haki rendering even distant islands transparent. Her gaze locked onto a figure cloaked in a Navy hooded robe, his face twisted in shock.
“Golden Lion!!”
Her scream sent shockwaves across the Grand Line, churning the sea.
“Mother, wait! We can’t just—”
“Silence!” Big Mom’s roar cut Daifuku short. Tearing off her captain’s hat, she stretched it into a massive blade.
“Napoleon!”
“Yes, Mother!”
With a swing of the weaponized hat, a hurricane-force slash tore through the air, shattering the rocky barrier around Dressrosa. Boulders crashed into the sea, carving a gaping hole.
“Golden Lion!” Big Mom’s crimson eyes blazed. “Return MY Caesar! Return MY Dream!!”
