Chapter 653: Another Prophecy
Chapter 653: Another Prophecy
Katrina slowed down and looked at Albert's retreating back. "Last time, those glasses... Were they to protect against the Basilisk?" she asked.
"That was a gift from an old friend," Albert replied, sidestepping the question. His intuition told him that changing the subject was a much better option than answering directly.
"Hmm, you don't suit rimmed glasses," Katrina suddenly said, her comment coming out of left field as she headed towards the Ravenclaw table.
Albert paused for a moment, not paying much mind to Katrina's odd statement. He made his way to the Gryffindor table and sat down to the right of Wood.
"You're here!" Wood greeted him enthusiastically. "So, do you think we can win the Quidditch Cup this year?"
"Unless something unexpected happens, we should be fine," Albert said, giving Wood a peculiar look before glancing at Fred and George. It immediately became clear to him what these guys wanted from him.
Albert couldn't help but find the situation amusing. Who would've thought he'd have the potential to be a charlatan?
Cough, cough... Was it because he believed his own words that they mostly came true? He almost convinced himself.
"See, I told you we'd definitely win!" Fred boasted, putting an arm around Albert's shoulders and smiling at Wood.
"Now that even Albert agrees, we're definitely getting the Quidditch Cup!" George immediately nodded in agreement.
Katie stared at Albert curiously, blinking as she asked, "Is it really that accurate?"
"Of course," Fred and George said in unison. "If you don't believe us, just ask Harry."
Harry: "..."
"I feel like you've changed quite a bit lately," said Alicia, who wasn't too concerned about these things. She eyed Albert up and down.
"Maybe it's because I haven't been wearing glasses lately," Albert said with a laugh, making a motion as if pushing up nonexistent glasses.
"No, no, it's definitely not that," Angelina shook her head, her hands supporting her chin as she stared intently at Albert, causing him to stiffen. "You seem more confident and handsome."
"Thanks," Albert managed a weak smile. "But your flattery is making me a bit uncomfortable."
"Mate, you're glowing," George said, patting Albert's shoulder. "Like a torch in the darkness, always attracting the girls' gaze."
"I have a girlfriend," Albert coughed lightly, changing the subject. "Oh, by the way, I made another simple prophecy for the coming semester."
"You made another prophecy?" Fred asked with interest. "What did you foresee this time?"
The others perked up, knowing that Albert could foresee some events through a crystal ball. It was said that his prophecies were what had warned him about the Chamber of Secrets incident beforehand.
"What prophecy?" Harry asked.
"A chance to make a fortune," Albert replied without hesitation.
"What do you mean?" The twins' eyes lit up; they were in dire need of money-making opportunities.
Albert spread his hands and shrugged. "I don't know."
"You don't know?"
The group looked at him in dismay, as if to say, "That's it?"
"Well, maybe my posture was wrong during the prophecy. But I think this matter has something to do with Potter." Albert looked at Harry, who was listening with interest, and continued his analysis. "The events of the past two years have involved you, so it's best to be careful next semester."
Harry opened his mouth to speak but didn't know what to say.
"Don't think I'm exaggerating," Albert continued. "To be honest, I doubt you'll be able to graduate from this school peacefully."
Harry felt wronged. This was completely out of the blue, and Albert's prophecy sounded absurd.
Could he really not be able to graduate from Hogwarts peacefully?
"Don't look at me like that," Albert said, as if reading Harry's mind. "I think it's because you're the savior. When everyone bestows that title upon you and recognizes it, it's no longer just a simple title. It means you'll shoulder certain responsibilities."
"I feel like you're becoming more and more like Professor Trelawney," Wood muttered.
"Are you saying I'm a fraud?" Albert couldn't help but sneer, well aware of what Wood was implying.
"No, I think you're very good at putting on a show," Wood clarified. "Look, you know what I mean. You shouldn't have said those things to Harry; they'll only distract him."
"Alright, Wood, we'll have a talk with Albert," Fred and George said, sandwiching Albert as they headed towards the entrance hall, also calling out to Lee Jordan to join them.
As the four strolled in the courtyard, Fred, eager to get answers, asked, "You said earlier that we'd have a chance to make a fortune next semester."
"There's probably... an opportunity for us to make a fortune!" Albert organized his thoughts. "I think that if we can seize this opportunity... well, we probably won't have to worry about money for our shop."
"That's fantastic! Remember to bring us along. I'm sure you'll need some reliable helpers," Fred, George, and Lee Jordan said excitedly.
"Reliable helpers?" Albert reassessed his roommates and shook his head repeatedly. "I don't see how you guys are reliable."
"We've always been reliable!" Fred, George, and Lee Jordan protested against Albert's slander.
"Then you'd better start acting reliable. I think it's best if you master the Patronus Charm first," Albert said with a smile.
"Why do we need to master the Patronus Charm?" the trio asked in unison.
"Dementors," Albert said, deliberately revealing a bit of information. "Although I've only seen fragments, I suspect we'll have to deal with Dementors next semester. So, good luck!"
"Oh, for heaven's sake, are you sure you're not mistaken?" Fred and George looked at each other, well aware of what Dementors were.
"You don't expect us to believe that Azkaban is hiding a pile of gold coins, do you?" Lee Jordan scoffed.
"Perhaps a lunatic escaped from Azkaban, and Albert is planning to take us to capture the fugitive," Fred analyzed, his brain working overtime. "You know, most of those escapees have bounties on their heads."
"Don't be ridiculous," Lee Jordan frowned. "No prisoner has ever escaped from that prison." He clearly didn't think this was a good money-making opportunity.
The three roommates stared at Albert, hoping to get some answers from him.
"Don't look at me like that. Prophecies aren't all-powerful," Albert said irritably. "I think we'll find out what's going on next semester. In the meantime, if you really want to help, learn the Patronus Charm!"
"Alright, we'll listen to you."
With the incentive of potential profits, Fred, George, and Lee Jordan were highly motivated. They couldn't wait to make a fortune.
Moreover, Albert wouldn't deliberately mislead them.
Albert was quite satisfied with their attitude. Being the fisherman in this scenario wouldn't be so bad.
Regarding the events to come, Albert was fearless.
Why?
Because all the conspiracies were aimed at Harry Potter, and what did any of it have to do with Albert Anderson?
Even if there was danger, could it be worse than facing a Basilisk?
The most perilous moments were already behind them.
Moreover, Albert's strength had increased significantly.
With foreknowledge of future events, the ability to make prophecies, and his secretly enhanced abilities, how could he lose?
