Chapter 65: Sensible People Don't Review
Chapter 65: Sensible People Don't Review
On Monday, as the exam day had arrived, Gang Zitie did not head to the Ninja Academy too early.
Having already reviewed for two weeks, he didn't need to rush during these last ten to twenty minutes.
On his way, Gang Zitie ran into Kamizuki Izumo, who was also heading to school.
"Good morning, Izumo," Gang Zitie greeted with a brilliant smile.
"Good morning, Zitie," Kamizuki Izumo replied with a smile, seeing his good brother.
"How was your weekend? Did you spend the whole time reviewing?" Gang Zitie asked warmly.
"Review? Who has time for that!" Kamizuki Izumo laughed out loud.
"Did you review?" Kamizuki Izumo asked.
"No, I didn't. Who has time to review before an exam? Only sensible people do that," Gang Zitie shook his head and said.
"Can the results from last-minute cramming really reflect your true abilities?" Kamizuki Izumo nodded in agreement.
The two glanced at each other and then burst out laughing.
"The game of Go is so much fun. Zitie, you have to try it after the exam," Kamizuki Izumo said enthusiastically, like a true game enthusiast.
However, he was thinking, "This time, I've definitely got it in the bag. Gang Zitie probably didn't review at all, so my only competition left is Shijima."
"I'll give it a try when I have time. The novels I've been reading recently are quite interesting, though. You should check them out when you have some free time, Izumo," Gang Zitie smiled and recommended some novels to Kamizuki Izumo, as if he had actually read them himself.
"It should be a piece of cake. Izumo hasn't been studying at all and has just been playing games. This time, my only competition is Shijima," Gang Zitie thought to himself.
"Haha, I'll definitely take a look when I have the chance," Kamizuki Izumo responded with a laugh, feeling quite pleased.
"What are you two chatting so happily about?" Anko Mitarashi appeared from behind and patted the two on their shoulders.
"We were just talking about what we did over the weekend," Gang Zitie explained with a smile.
"Playing? Did you two not review at all?" Anko Mitarashi asked.
"Of course not! Did you spend the whole time reviewing, Anko?" Kamizuki Izumo asked in surprise.
"No, I just reviewed yesterday," Anko Mitarashi thought for a moment before answering.
In fact, she had only studied for half an hour the night before, but when Kamizuki Izumo asked if she had reviewed for two days, Anko felt that admitting to only half an hour would be embarrassing, so she lied and said it was for a whole day.
"Oh, you reviewed for a day? That's great," Gang Zitie said with a smile.
Just one day wouldn't be a threat to him, as he had been reviewing for half a month. In fact, Gang Zitie felt that Anko Mitarashi hadn't reviewed enough and probably should have spent the last two days studying.
"If you do well, your family will probably reward you. Don't forget about us, your brothers," Kamizuki Izumo joked.
"Hehe, that depends on whether you share your games and novels with me or not," Anko Mitarashi replied, feeling quite cheerful.
Soon, the three of them walked together to the Ninja Academy, chatting and laughing, and entered their classroom to wait for the exam to begin.
Before long, Mu Yue and Ayaka Ueda arrived at Class 1-1. This time, Mu Yue had drawn her own class for exam supervision.
"Teacher Mu Yue!"
The students in the class greeted Mu Yue one after another, and she smiled in response.
"So, Teacher Mu Yue, you're the one supervising our exam this time?" Gang Zitie asked.
Mu Yue nodded to confirm.
"Teacher Mu Yue, can we ask you if we don't understand any questions?" Anko Mitarashi asked, even though she knew the answer.
Tap!
Mu Yue tapped Anko Mitarashi's head with her two fingers together and said, "You can ask, but this will be the only response you get."
"Ouch!" Anko Mitarashi covered the spot that was tapped and immediately became well-behaved.
"Everyone, check if you have your exam tools ready. The exam will begin in ten minutes," Mu Yue reminded the class.
Some cautious students began checking their tools after hearing Mu Yue's reminder.
"Teacher Mu Yue, you're really popular among the students," Ayaka Ueda exclaimed.
She had just noticed that almost all the students had greeted Mu Yue.
This was a rare occurrence, especially in a class of forty students, where there were bound to be some introverted or quiet individuals.
Moreover, there might be those who thought that since so many people were greeting the teacher, their own greeting would likely go unnoticed, so they didn't bother speaking up.
"After all, I am their homeroom teacher," Mu Yue replied.
When the ten minutes were up, Mu Yue announced the start of the theory exam and distributed the test papers along with Ayaka Ueda.
The students of Class 1-1 also gave Mu Yue some face, and throughout the entire exam, not a single student spoke up, as they all quietly worked on their papers.
Perhaps it was because they were at a ninja academy, but she was still surprised by their concentration. She randomly looked at a few students' papers and was astonished to see that, at a glance, all the answers seemed correct.
"Teacher Mu Yue, I think your class will probably have the highest average score for this exam again," Ayaka whispered to Mu Yue, sharing her observation.
"It's hard to say before the results are out. Maybe the other classes did well too," Mu Yue replied softly, not wanting to boast.
While it was true that her class had performed exceptionally well, she preferred to remain humble.
Once the exam ended and the papers were collected, the atmosphere in Class 1-1 changed.
"Finally, it's over!" Gang Zitie exclaimed with a relieved smile, feeling as though a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
It had been exhausting for him to study diligently every day and also come up with ways to prevent Kamizuki Izumo from studying.
"Yeah, after the practical exam, we'll finally have our long vacation," Kamizuki said with a relaxed smile.
Now that the theory exam was over, he no longer had to put on an act and try to distract Gang Zitie from studying.
"Zitie, Izumo, how do you feel the exam went?" Anko Mitarashi asked as she approached them.
"It was alright, but I found it quite difficult this time," Gang Zitie sighed.
"Yeah, there were a lot of questions that I had no idea how to answer, so I just filled in random answers. I don't know how many marks I'll get," Kamizuki said, his face clouded with worry.
"Huh? You found it difficult? I thought it was pretty easy. Could it be that my last-minute revision paid off?" Anko scratched her head, feeling puzzled. This scene seemed oddly familiar to her.
"Shijima, how do you think you did?" Anko asked as she noticed Shijima preparing to leave.
"It was alright," Shijima replied, pausing in his tracks.
He felt that this exam was similar in difficulty to the previous one, so there wasn't much to say.
"Why do I feel like I'm the only one who found it simple? Does that mean I did exceptionally well?" Anko wondered, feeling that the reward of dumplings was within her grasp.
"Remember, everyone, we need to perform well in tomorrow's practical exam. Let's show that female invigilator our ninjutsu skills," Anko said, recalling their plan to get their physical education teacher replaced.
"Definitely! This time, we'll definitely make the school get us a more competent PE teacher," Gang Zitie agreed.
"Actually, I think it would be great if Teacher Mu Yue taught us, but that would be too tiring for her since she'd have to take on more classes," Kamizuki said, sounding regretful.
The other students chimed in, expressing their determination to showcase their full potential in the practical exam.
