Chapter 65: Magic Surge
Chapter 65: Magic Surge
Red blood rain splattered around, and chunks of flesh and feathers fell from the sky in pieces.
Ivan, who had just emerged from that peculiar state, collapsed weakly on the ground. The all-powerful him a moment ago could now not even conjure a Magic Barrier, leaving him to endure the disgusting chunks of flesh sticking to his face.
After resting for a while, Ivan finally recovered and tried hard to re-enter that miraculous state.
But the dispersed Magic had obediently retreated back into his body. No matter how hard Ivan tried, he could not lift objects with a mere thought, let alone perform advanced Transfiguration Spells.
This experience was like being suddenly demoted from an omnipotent god to a mere mortal, making Ivan extremely uncomfortable.
However, as he recalled the scene,
Ivan vaguely felt that he had experienced something similar in the past.
It was during his Magic Awakening at the age of eight.
After being startled awake from a nightmare in a small room, his surging Magic destroyed everything around him and briefly brought the Wood Carving in his arms to life.
Throughout the entire process, he did not wave his Wand or utter any incantations. It was just his subconscious rejection of everything due to Fear that caused the large-scale destruction, and the Wood Carving was activated to protect him because of the insecurity caused by Fear.
As for why he could do this during a Magic Surge, Ivan did not know. However, he remembered that in the original story, Harry could also achieve something akin to making things happen by thought alone during his Magic Surges.
This included growing his hair back, turning his teacher's wig blue, and using his mind to make a glass at the zoo disappear.
This meant that any young wizard during a Magic Surge should have similar experiences.
Ivan believed that he likely experienced a second Magic Surge due to a sudden increase in his Magic, which was even more powerful and enduring this time. For some unknown reason, he was able to briefly control it.
"Is it because of the Fusion Potion?" Ivan recalled the ingredients he used when brewing the Potion, many of which were related to stabilizing Magic.
Unable to figure it out for now, Ivan put it aside and decided to investigate further when he had the chance.
The sticky blood on his body and the chaotic surroundings made Ivan feel quite nauseous, as if a storm had ravaged the area.
"Scourgify~" Ivan pulled out his Wand from his sleeve, first pointing it at his clothes, then starting to clean up the mess around him.
Invisible Magic waves rippled, and everything seemed to reverse in time. Cabinets that had fallen in the corners stood up and returned to their original positions. Tables, chairs, and crucibles that had been crushed into corners returned to where they belonged, and even the dust and wood shavings on the ground were swept away.
Ivan couldn't help but marvel at the Magic's convenience. It was so efficient; if he had to clean such a large Potion storage room by himself, it would have taken him several days.
If it were yesterday, Ivan's Scouring Charm would not have been nearly as effective. The nearly doubled Magic significantly enhanced the power of his spells.
Moreover, after fusing with Unicorn Blood, Ivan felt his Wand was extremely easy to handle, with Magic transmission almost flawless, even gaining a notable boost.
Of course, even with this, Ivan's Cleaning Charm was not omnipotent.
At the very least, the Redwood Round Table that had been turned into a Phoenix could not be restored. The dismembered chunks of flesh, blood, and feathers were merely gathered in the corner, and Ivan had to use a Fire Charm to burn them to ashes.
Due to the Magic Surge, the bottles shattered, and the various Potions spilled on the ground were not recovered, turning into waste. Ivan was heartbroken; if these Potions had been sold, they would have been worth hundreds of Galleons, and now they were all gone.
Fortunately, Ivan found that one bottle of Fire-Protection Potion was still intact, which provided some consolation.
After tidying up, Ivan finally had the mood to check his System status bar, curious about how much his strength had improved.

Ivan looked at the updated System panel, noting many new additions.
First, his occupation changed from Wizard to Bloodline Wizard, and Ivan was still unsure what the difference was.
Second, the proficiency of all his spells had increased significantly. Ivan suspected this was related to the strange state he entered after the Magic Surge.
The Transfiguration Spell not only broke through to Level 4 but also gained over a thousand points in proficiency. Ivan glanced at the System notification bar, which was filled with dozens of messages, most of which indicated a significant increase in the proficiency of the Transfiguration Spell.
This made Ivan think greedily that if he hadn't tried to transfigure a Magical creature earlier, the state might have lasted longer, potentially pushing the Transfiguration Spell directly to Level 5.
Of course, it would be even better if he could maintain that state indefinitely. Ivan even felt inflated enough to think he could match Dumbledore within the range of his Magic.
Yes, only within the range of his Magic.
Finally, the new Bloodline Magic section appeared, as expected.
According to the records in the book The Origin of Bloodlines found in the Restricted Section, successfully fusing with the bloodline of a Magical creature usually grants the person some of the creature's innate abilities. For example, a wizard with Veela bloodline has extraordinary charm.
However, Ivan found that the Bloodline Magic section only displayed five large question marks, with nothing else shown.
