After dinner, Yu Meitone and Lu Jiaxin left together. However, they were suddenly stopped at the front door by Tao Yong.
"Ah Zhan is still inside and hasn't come out yet," Lu Jiaxin said to Tao Yong, indicating Meitone.
Tao Yong pointed at Meitone and said with a smile, "Sister-in-law, I have something to discuss with Meitone."
A hint of panic flashed across Meitone's face, and her words came out in a rush, "I have something private to tell you."
Seeing her expression, Lu Jiaxin was filled with curiosity about what was going on between these two. Instead of asking directly, she said, "Meitone had a bit too much to drink earlier. If it's not something urgent, it might be better to discuss it another day."
Tao Yong hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement.
Once they were in the car and had left the hotel, Lu Jiaxin asked, "What's going on? When did you and Tao Yong start interacting?"
Seeing that she couldn't hide it any longer, Meitone replied with a bitter expression, "On the day I broke up with Jiang Yuanjiu, I was feeling terrible, so I invited a friend to a bar for drinks. Both my friend and I got so drunk that we passed out. A man tried to take me away, but fortunately, Tao Yong, who was also drinking at the bar, noticed. He realized I was unconscious and rescued me from that man, sending me back to the hotel."
This could be considered a fortuitous event, and it was a favor to her as well. Lu Jiaxin continued to inquire, "Since he rescued you, it would be appropriate to thank him with a meal. But why are you acting like this instead?"
Meitone didn't know how to respond.

Meitone thought Lu Jiaxin was incredibly perceptive, as she had guessed correctly without any hints, "Yes, he started pursuing me after he found out about my breakup. He used to be Shi XinYu's fiance, and I was Fu Ye's fiancee. I don't know what he's thinking."
Lu Jiaxin was also at a loss for words. Setting aside the awkwardness of the situation, Tao Yong himself was actually quite a catch.

Lu Jiaxin affirmed that she would definitely refuse if she were in Meitone's position. However, she was unsure of Meitone's feelings on the matter. Meitone shook her head, "I haven't thought that far ahead. I just feel embarrassed about the whole situation."
"Then take some time to think about it when you get home."
After a moment of silence, Meitone nodded.
Lu Jiaxin shifted the topic to the company. Many of Wufu Jewelry's new designs were her creations. Thanks to Meitone, she was also well-informed about the goings-on in the design department.
Upon returning home, Lu Jiaxin went upstairs to rest. When she woke up, she heard voices outside and peered out the window to see Nie Zhan and Tao Yong. This was the first time Tao Yong had visited since she moved here.
Not wanting to interrupt, Lu Jiaxin practiced yoga for half an hour and then read the newspaper. By the time she went downstairs, Tao Yong had already left.
"What did he come for?" she asked Nie Zhan.
Nie Zhan poured her a glass of water and smiled, "He wants to expand his investment company and invited me to become a shareholder."
As business owners, they all aspired to grow their companies and make them stronger—Lu Jiaxin shared this ambition. "I've heard his investment company is doing quite well. If the prospects are good, it might be worth investing," she remarked.
Nie Zhan shook his head, "I didn't agree to invest. His investment company has reached its limit, and there isn't much potential for profit."
However, he assured her that if Tao Yong ever encountered difficulties and needed help, he would certainly lend a hand as a friend.
However, business is business. Tao Yong's investment firm was currently valued at around 700 to 800 million yuan, and according to his estimates, it would top out at a billion. Investing now wouldn't yield much profit. The prospects for the companies under his own name were much better, so there was no need to divert funds to this low-return project.
Lu Jiaxin immediately supported his decision but soon sighed, "Being a boss comes with a lot of pressure too. When the business is small, you want to expand and strengthen it, but once it becomes a large corporation, you lose your freedom."
Nie Zhan smiled and asked, "What, are you thinking of traveling again?"
He knew that Lu Jiaxin's dream was to travel the world, and so far, she had only visited a handful of places. He had always told her not to work too hard, but she never listened, which worried him.
Lu Jiaxin indicated that she had no time for that at the moment due to the many company matters. "Tao Yong wants to pursue Meitone. Do you know about this?"
Nie Zhan was very surprised and asked, "Ah, Tao Yong wants to pursue Yu Meitone? What's going on?"
Lu Jiaxin said that she didn't know much either and briefly recounted what Yu Meitone had told her. "He's also worth several hundred million yuan now, and he maintains a good relationship with his family. He should be able to marry a woman of equal status, right?"
Nie Zhan said that Tao Yong's family had introduced him to many women, all of whom were excellent. Still, he hadn't shown any interest in any of them. Nie Zhan agreed, "Miss Yu is beautiful, independent, and has a decent job. Most importantly, Tao Yong knows her inside out and knows that she isn't a troublesome woman, so he might have been moved by that."
"Jiaxin, Tao Yong is a very serious person when it comes to relationships. If he's pursuing Meitone, he's definitely thinking of marriage. So let's let nature take its course and not interfere."
Lu Jiaxin looked at him and asked, "What do you mean by 'we won't interfere'? Are you worried that I'll create trouble and not let them be together?"
Nie Zhan quickly clarified that he didn't mean it like that, and she wasn't the type to meddle in others' relationships. "It's Tao Yong. Besides discussing the investment, he also asked me to put in a good word for him with you."
Lu Jiaxin scoffed, "So his talk about investment was just an excuse, and his real intention was to ask me to speak highly of him?"
It was not a good thing that his girlfriend was too clever; one slip of the tongue, and she had him figured out. Nie Zhan said, "He's 32 years old now, and he wants to get married. Also, his parents have come to beg me, and I hope he can settle down soon."
Lu Jiaxin let it go, "When Meitone mentioned this to me today, I told her not to worry about the past and to follow her heart."
Whether Tao Yong and Yu Meitone ended up together or not was fine. But for her to speak highly of Tao Yong was out of the question.
Hearing this, Nie Zhan felt relieved. He had no choice; his girlfriend seemed to have a magical power that made everyone believe her. If she told Yu Meitone that the relationship was awkward and embarrassing, then Tao Yong would have no chance. He smiled and said, "If they get together, let him treat us to a meal."
Lu Jiaxin was not so optimistic, "That still depends on Meitone's feelings. Maybe she doesn't feel anything for Tao Yong, and you're just getting excited for nothing."
As someone who had been through it, Nie Zhan said, "If there's no feeling, she wouldn't be avoiding him; she would be directly cursing him out."
Lu Jiaxin couldn't help but laugh. With Yu Meitone's current fierce temperament, that was indeed true.
