Chapter 648: Friends?
Chapter 648: Friends?
After Jack's two friends conceded, he stepped forward and handed the order details to Jiang Xia, smiling. "Thank you for a wonderful evening. The outfits tonight were stunning, and I’m really looking forward to the men’s fashion show tomorrow night."
Jiang Xia took the order and shook his hand again, smiling. "It’s an honor to have your approval. I hope tomorrow’s show will also surprise you."
Jack nodded with a smile. "I’m looking forward to the men’s collection."
Jiang Xia added, "I’ll take you to place the order, or you can check out the clothes again tomorrow and see if you need to adjust any quantities before placing the order."
Evans said, "No need to change anything for me."
Carlton added, "Same for me."
No matter how they adjusted, they still needed to reach the ten million order amount.
Ten million was a huge sum, and they couldn’t possibly use it all to order clothes. Even though the outfits tonight were expensive, they weren’t luxury brands, and ordering that much would be too risky for them to sell.
This procurement amount far exceeded their expectations, but they had lost the bet, and they weren’t the type to back out of a deal.
Both had carefully considered the order, selecting the most suitable quantities for clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories to ensure they could recoup the ten million.
So, there was no need to make any changes.
They had thought it through thoroughly.
Jiang Xia, upon hearing this, offered to personally take them to place the order and introduced herself, along with Zhao Cheng Lei.
Such trustworthy foreign friends were definitely worth getting to know, as they might become future clients for her clothing factory.
Evans, Carlton, and Jack also introduced themselves, shook hands with Zhao Cheng Lei, and praised Jiang Xia.
From the moment Jiang Xia stood up to argue her case, they had developed a bit of a liking for this Eastern girl.
Even though they had lost ten million, they didn’t resent Jiang Xia. In fact, they admired her actions at the time, which was why they had sought her out with the order.
The group chatted and laughed as they made their way to the service center.
Evans even invited the couple to Paris for a fashion show, which he would also be attending.
Jiang Xia smiled. "We’ll see if we have the time. If we do, we’ll definitely come."
Evans immediately gave Jiang Xia his contact information and asked for hers.
Carlton and Jack also provided their contact details.
Jiang Xia left her family’s and Zhang Fuyan’s phone numbers and the address of the quadrangle courtyard.
There were many people at the service center, with some foreign buyers placing orders right after the show without waiting until the next day.
Many staff members were still busy.
The factory manager was also there, consolidating the approximate quantities of the best-selling items to facilitate the procurement of more fabric and accessories and the production schedule.
Seeing Jiang Xia, the factory manager was delighted. "Xia, you haven’t gone home yet?"
Jiang Xia replied, "I’m about to. These three foreign friends want to place their orders, so I’m bringing them here."
The other staff members were still busy, so the factory manager immediately said, "I’ll take care of it!"
Jiang Xia translated for Evans, Carlton, and Jack, then handed the order to the factory manager.
The factory manager took a look and immediately felt the weight of the three orders. These were undoubtedly the largest orders he had ever received.
He was sure that none of the other orders confirmed and submitted the next day would match the size of these three!
Especially with two of the orders, the quantity for several clothing styles exceeded a thousand pieces for a single size, and one style had several thousand pieces.
One order alone surpassed what others would place in multiple orders.
He quickly took out his abacus and began calculating.
Jiang Xia and Zhao Cheng Lei stood nearby, chatting with the three men.
The conversation naturally shifted from fashion to other industries.
When they talked about fashion, Jiang Xia, who had studied Western fashion history, could easily keep up. When they discussed other industries, she, as a person from the future, knew more than they did.
No matter the topic, Jiang Xia could always respond with insightful and perceptive comments.
Zhao Cheng Lei, who had traveled extensively and even gone abroad, was well-informed and forward-thinking. Due to his personality, he didn’t talk much, but every word he said hit the mark.
The couple’s eloquence and knowledge surprised Evans, Carlton, and Jack, making them feel like they had found kindred spirits.
They became more animated and talked more enthusiastically.
Seeing how well they were getting along, the factory manager assumed the three men were friends of the couple.
After calculating the numbers, the factory manager asked them to sign the order, confirming the deposit amount and delivery time. Once they transferred the deposit, production and shipping could begin.
The three men had placed large orders, with only Jack’s order being around five million, while Evans and Carlton each placed orders for over ten million.
Jiang Xia was delighted; all her hard work had paid off.
After signing the documents, the three men took a copy of the order for their records. Seeing that it was getting late, they made plans to meet Jiang Xia again the next evening before leaving.
Once they were gone, the factory manager asked, "Xia, are these your friends’ orders? I’ll make sure the factory staff handle these three orders with the utmost care."
Definitely big clients!
The delivery addresses and company names left behind didn’t match any of their previous clients.
Such big clients must be served well, with the hope of turning them into long-term customers.
Jiang Xia shook her head. "Not friends, just met them briefly before the fashion show. We had a bit of a verbal spat at the time."
The factory manager: "…."
What kind of brief meeting could be so valuable?
A single meeting worth a thousand pieces!
He wanted such a meeting and a verbal spat too!
If one meeting wasn’t enough, a thousand meetings would do!
Whoever could place such large orders, he’d be happy to argue with them every day!
Even if he wore out his lips, he wouldn’t mind!
Yang Qiuqiang was also there. Seeing how Jiang Xia and the three foreigners had become friends, he was quite surprised!
If he hadn’t seen with his own eyes how Jiang Xia had tricked the two foreigners, he would have thought they were friends.
It was ten o’clock, and after bidding farewell to the factory manager, Jiang Xia and Zhao Cheng Lei headed back to their residence. She had been standing for over ten hours, and although she didn’t have to talk much in the evening, helping the models change clothes had left her exhausted. All she wanted was to get back and sleep.
Then she heard the factory manager say, "With so many orders, the workers might not be able to keep up, even with overtime. We’ll need to find other factories to help."
The assistant replied, "But other factories don’t do exports, and those that do have their own orders. The quality of the workers in domestic factories varies, and it’s hard to ensure the quality of our high-end goods. Xia said we need to control the details and quality carefully."
Jiang Xia felt that standing for another ten hours wasn’t a problem.
She didn’t leave. Instead, she tugged at Zhao Cheng Lei’s sleeve, turned him around, and walked back to the factory manager. "Manager, you’re looking for other factories to help with the orders?"
The factory manager understood her meaning. "Do you have any factory recommendations?"
