Chapter 645: Who's the Real Imbecile Here?
Chapter 645: Who's the Real Imbecile Here?
"Hahaha, it was Xiao Wang's fault!"
The man in red robes at the head of the table was none other than the King of Kuqa. With a wave of his hand, he signaled to the attendants in the grand tent, "Quickly, prepare a seat for Master Jin!"
Soon, three small tables were added to the gathering, and Liao Gang and Ye Jin took their seats behind Jin Banhua.
During the interval of serving wine and dishes, the King of Kuqa introduced the guests to Jin Banhua.
There was Sirius Star, a notorious lone robber who struck fear into both sides of the Yellow River; Qingtian Wu and Baiyun Wu, two renowned masters of the Dragon-Floating Sword style; and Wang Chong, a swordsman who happened to be traveling through the great desert.
As for the man in green robes who had spoken derisively to Jin Banhua, he was the infamous "Merciless Assassin," Huan Du.
And seated next to the King of Kuqa was, of course, his beautiful daughter, the Princess Pipa.
At that moment, Princess Pipa gazed at Jin Banhua with curiosity.
Jin Banhua, in turn, admired the princess's exquisite features.
A soft laugh escaped Princess Pipa's lips. "Is Master Jin still upset about what happened at the entrance?"
"I'm not upset at all," Jin Banhua replied with a smile. "It's not like we're the ones at a disadvantage. Why would I be angry?"
"Moreover, I came here of my own accord to join in the fun," he continued. "If there had been too many experts present, I would have simply watched from the sidelines without intervening."
His words were blunt, and the expressions of those present turned sour.
The King of Kuqa quickly raised his cup. "Please forgive us, Master Jin. My camp is located close to the edge of the desert, and I had also spread word in the Central Plains' martial arts world. As a result, we've had quite a few imposters and frauds trying to take advantage of us lately."
Jin Banhua raised his cup in return. "I understand. And here I am, sitting and drinking with you."
The King of Kuqa laughed heartily. "Exactly!"
Princess Pipa asked, her curiosity piqued, "Master Jin, you mentioned that you've achieved the pinnacle of both Northern and Southern martial arts. May I ask what you meant by that?"
Jin Banhua replied, "Well, I invited several dozen masters in the capital to teach me their respective martial arts styles. I've learned Northern and Southern styles, so naturally, I've become the pinnacle of both."
Huan Du scoffed. "If this qualifies as the pinnacle of Northern and Southern martial arts, then the most skilled person in the martial world should be a traveling performer."
Jin Banhua nodded. "You're right. I once met an elderly storyteller who traveled with his granddaughter. If he isn't the best in the world, he's certainly among the top three."
Princess Pipa was taken aback, and the others directed mocking and pitying glances at Jin Banhua.
Huan Du fixed his gaze on Jin Banhua for a moment before shaking his head and laughing coldly. "So, he's just an imbecile from the capital, indulged and spoiled. Sharing a table with him is a disgrace."
At this point, his expression turned gloomy, and he glared at Liao Gang and Ye Jin. "Take your idiotic master and leave. I won't ask again."
An awkward silence filled the grand tent, but no one spoke. Instead, curious gazes shifted between Huan Du and Jin Banhua.
Upon hearing Huan Du's words, Liao Gang and Ye Jin exchanged a glance, hesitated, and then looked at Jin Banhua... and the sword in his hand.
However, instead of reaching for his sword, Jin Banhua widened his eyes and exclaimed, "Hey, how dare you insult me?"
Huan Du gave a cold laugh. "So what if I did?"
"Then you apologize, of course!" Jin Banhua pushed his table aside as he stood up, rolling up his sleeves. "Otherwise, I'll beat you to your knees, and you won't get up until you've admitted a hundred times that you're an imbecile with an incomplete mind!"
Huan Du rose abruptly.
But he didn't look at Jin Banhua; instead, his gaze fell on Liao Gang and Ye Jin.
Liao Gang and Ye Jin exchanged a look of dismay. Ye Jin, recalling Jin Banhua's incredible swordsmanship that had slain Bai Yu Mo, couldn't help but remind him, "Master, I've heard that Huan Du's martial arts skills are exceptional. Why don't you use your sword instead?"
Liao Gang nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes, yes!"
Huan Du was so furious that he could laugh. He had thought that his master was an idiot, and on regular days, it was these two henchmen who put on a show of force. Unexpectedly, these two henchmen were idiots as well.
Huan Du stopped talking and instead crossed over the short table with a sinister smile. In a flash, he appeared before Jin Banhua and reached out to press down on his shoulder, shouting sternly, "Kneel!"
However, his hand had only reached halfway when he realized that Jin Banhua had grabbed his wrist.
"What?" Huan Du's pupils contracted.
In the next moment, Jin Banhua shook his hand, and Huan Du felt all the bones in his body loosen for a moment. Then, his entire body lost its strength, and he knelt on the ground involuntarily.
"What?" Everyone present was shocked.
The King of Kuqa and Princess Pipa's eyes shone with curiosity.
The Wu brothers of the Dragon-Floating Sword style, Qingtian and Baiyun, stood up abruptly, looking at the center of the tent in disbelief.
Sirius Star scratched his head, and even Wang Chong, who had been dozing off earlier, opened his eyes.
"Alright, start talking!" Jin Banhua said.
"What should I say?" Huan Du asked subconsciously.
"Say that you're an imbecile with an incomplete mind!" Jin Banhua patted Huan Du's shoulder. "Say it a hundred times!"
"You're asking for death!" Huan Du roared in anger.
His right hand was still being held by Jin Banhua, and half of his body had lost its strength, but since he hadn't been struck at any vital points, he still had control over his left hand. He quickly pulled out five black rings from his sleeve.
In the next moment, Huan Du struck towards Jin Banhua's chest.
Having been inexplicably restrained by Jin Banhua earlier, he thought it was due to his own carelessness. Now, he was more cautious and struck with full force, changing his moves continuously to ensure a successful hit.
However, halfway through his strike, he felt his wrist and elbow being gently brushed, and then his arm inexplicably bent.
"Bang!"
To Huan Du's disbelief, his fist struck his own right shoulder, and the five iron rings scraped across his clothes, leaving a bloody mark on his shoulder.
Huan Du was instantly terrified. "Poison... poison..."
Jin Banhua pressed down on Huan Du's shoulder. "Hurry up and apologize a hundred times."
"I'm poisoned. Let me detox first!" Huan Du said anxiously.
"Say that you're an imbecile with an incomplete mind, a hundred times. Hurry up, don't dawdle." Jin Banhua patted his left shoulder again, causing his left arm to lose strength as well.
Huan Du looked at Jin Banhua as if he were looking at a devil.
Liao Gang and Ye Jin breathed a sigh of relief, their expressions showing that they had expected as much.
Huan Du glanced at Jin Banhua and then at his own shoulder, his forehead instantly breaking out in cold sweat. He no longer dared to hesitate.
"I'm an imbecile with an incomplete mind. I'm an imbecile with an incomplete mind. I'm an imbecile with an incomplete mind..."
The wound on Huan Du's shoulder became more and more painful, and his tone became more and more urgent. He felt dizzy, and his vision darkened as if he were about to faint.
When Huan Du couldn't even remember how many times he had apologized, he suddenly felt his shoulder lighten, and he regained some strength.
Almost instinctively, he reached into his bosom, took out a porcelain bottle, and poured the medicine inside into his mouth.
In the next moment, he heard Jin Banhua ask with a proud smile, "Who's the real imbecile here?"
Huan Du, just before fainting, managed to force out a single word, "Me..."
