Chapter 643: No Sleeping Allowed, Classmate
Chapter 643: No Sleeping Allowed, Classmate
Early that morning, Kyle paid a visit to the school hospital.
After being thoroughly thrashed in the Quidditch match, Malfoy had been sent there by his teammates.
When Kyle arrived, Malfoy was leaning against his bed, munching on sweets he had bought from Honeyduke's.
His face had fully healed and showed no signs of the previous day's injuries. However, upon noticing Fred and George enter the room, he quickly tossed aside his Pepper Imp and feigned discomfort, groaning and writhing on the bed.
"What are you two doing here!"
Pansy Parkinson, sitting by his side, jumped to her feet and shrieked, "Get out! If you're here to beg for forgiveness, don't bother dreaming..."
"Oh, Fred..." George raised an eyebrow, "Did you hear that awful noise? It's unbearable."
"I think it must be a Tebo Warty Pig," Fred said, "They make the most disgusting sounds. But I can't understand why Madam Pomfrey would keep such ugly creatures in the hospital."
Fred and George's banter infuriated Pansy, her sharp-tongued face twisting with anger.
But before she could retort, Fred shouted, "Madam Pomfrey! Lee Jordan has been vomiting, and we don't know why..."
As soon as he finished speaking, Madam Pomfrey emerged swiftly from the partition, asking, "What happened? Did he eat something bad?"
"We don't know," George shook his head, "He refused to come to the hospital. Could you please take a look at him?"
"Not coming to the hospital is sheer nonsense!" Madam Pomfrey exclaimed angrily, "I hope he hasn't been drinking something from the Hog's Head. I've said it before, such places shouldn't be allowed near the school... and neither should you be going there!"
Despite her words, she took two bottles of potion from the shelf and hurried out.
Fred quickly followed, "He's in the Gryffindor common room, I'll take you there, Madam Pomfrey."
George deliberately slowed down, glancing at Kyle, his expression hesitant as if he wanted to say something.
But Kyle shook his head slightly.
George sighed and, in the end, said nothing. He hurried after Fred with a small jog.
With their departure, only three people remained in the hospital room.
Kyle, Pansy, and Malfoy, who was lying on the bed.
Malfoy looked uneasy, watching Kyle as if he were Harry facing Snape.
"Why are you still here?" Pansy walked over arrogantly and addressed Kyle, "Go and tell your despicable friends that they..."
"Plop..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly fell back against the table and dozed off, sitting on the floor.
"It seems like she's been taking good care of you, to the point of exhaustion," Kyle said with a smile.
Malfoy looked at Kyle in terror. He knew that Kyle was responsible for Pansy's current state, but he dared not speak.
Especially now, as Kyle approached step by step, Malfoy instinctively recalled the things his father had said during the holidays, and his fear reached its peak.
"Wh-what do you want from me!" Malfoy's voice trembled, "This is Hogwarts... Dumbledore is here... You won't get away with anything if you dare to do something to me."
"Oh, so you know Professor Dumbledore," Kyle said, "I thought you only knew about Umbridge."
Kyle sat in the spot where Pansy had been sitting and helped himself to a box of Chocolate Frogs from the mountain of sweets beside the bed.
"You know," Kyle said slowly as he unwrapped the package, "Your father did some things during the holidays that caused me quite a bit of trouble.
"But I generously forgave him. From the start of term until now, have I ever caused you any trouble?"
"This has nothing to do with me..." Malfoy stuttered, "It was Professor Umbridge... really... She wanted to teach Weasley and Potter a lesson... because they wouldn't listen to her..."
"But you were more than happy to go along with it, weren't you?"
"I... I can forgive them... I can plead with Professor Umbridge on their behalf..."
"Forgive whom?"
"The Weasley brothers..." Malfoy said, "They... they can continue playing Quidditch..."
"Tsk, I knew you were a reasonable person, but they just wouldn't believe me," Kyle smiled and handed the Chocolate Frog to Malfoy.
Malfoy initially refused, but when Kyle frowned, he quickly and shakily took it.
"I won't pursue the matter any further," Malfoy continued.
"On behalf of Fred, George, and Harry, I thank you for your generosity," Kyle said.
Malfoy breathed a slight sigh of relief.
But the next second, Kyle spoke up again: "It's a pity, but your word isn't enough. Professor Umbridge requires that Mr. Lucius Malfoy also agrees to let it go."
"I can persuade my father!"
"Ah, that's for sure... but there's no need to go to so much trouble." Kyle took out a letter that he had prepared in advance and handed it to Malfoy.
"Just sign your name on this, I think Mr. Lucius will recognize your handwriting."
Malfoy subconsciously looked at the parchment.
"Dear Mr. Malfoy:
"I have been wanting to express my gratitude to you since our last meeting at the Ministry of Magic, but due to my busy school schedule, I haven't had the time.
"The reason I'm writing to you today is regarding my friends, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, and Harry Potter, who had a minor disagreement with Draco during the Quidditch match.
"Here's what happened..."
The letter then went on to describe in detail what had transpired on the Quidditch pitch, including the exact words Malfoy had spoken and the reactions of the Weasley brothers. It was all true, without any alterations.
"In conclusion, I believe both parties were at fault, and the punishment of banning them from playing Quidditch may be too severe.
"P.S. Draco has generously forgiven them."
The wording on the parchment was sincere and polite, making it seem like an ordinary letter.
At this point, Kyle handed Malfoy a quill and pointed to the blank space below the last sentence.
"Just sign your name here."
Malfoy did as he was told and scrawled his name awkwardly on the parchment.
After he finished writing, Kyle took back the letter and quill, saying meaningfully, "So, is there anything wrong with what's written here?"
"No, no," Malfoy quickly shook his head. "Everything written here is the truth."
"Then why are you shaking?" Kyle smiled. "If someone else saw this, they might think I'm some kind of evil Dark wizard, but I'm just here to talk reasonably."
"Yes, that's right," Malfoy nodded vigorously. "I'm just... a bit cold, that's all."
"Is that so?" Kyle took out his wand and pointed it at the fireplace in the corner, causing the flames to roar to life.
"Don't mention it, it was no trouble at all." Kyle stood up, appearing ready to leave.
"Oh, I almost forgot." Kyle suddenly called out, "Kaka!"
A house-elf suddenly appeared in the school hospital, holding a large camera. Before Malfoy could react, the elf took a picture of the two of them.
"What are you doing!" Malfoy cried out in alarm.
"Don't be so nervous, it's just a photo to prove that I came to visit you," Kyle said, glancing at the house-elf.
"Thank you for your help, Kaka."
The simple words of acknowledgment caused the house-elf named Kaka to become excited, jumping up and down in joy.
"It's Kaka's honor, sir," Kaka said eagerly.
"Don't mention it," Kyle waved his hand dismissively and grabbed a handful of candies from behind his back, stuffing them into the elf's apron. "Thank you for the photo, this is my token of appreciation."
Kaka wanted to refuse, but Kyle insisted, and the candies found their way into the elf's apron.
This made the little elf even more excited, his large ears turning slightly red.
"You may go now," Kyle said. "If I need your help again, I'll be sure to call for you."
"Kaka is willing to help sir!" the elf exclaimed before disappearing from the school hospital.
Kyle then turned to leave, but just as he reached the door, he stopped.
"By the way, remember to tell your friend that Madam Pomfrey doesn't allow students to sleep on the floor."
This time, Malfoy clearly saw Kyle's finger twitch, and then... the unconscious Pansy stirred, slowly getting up from the floor in a daze.
"What happened to me?" She looked at Malfoy and then at Kyle's departing back, her mind still foggy. "What did that guy say just now?"
Malfoy, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, glanced at Pansy without much interest. "Oh, he said we're not allowed to sleep on the floor."
