Chapter 643: Bringing You Some Gifts
Chapter 643: Bringing You Some Gifts
In the Grand Line, a majestic Golden Ship sailed forward, trailed by the drifting wreckage of several Pirate Ships—clear evidence of the Golden Ship’s recent victories.
“Tch, pirates everywhere,” Kuro muttered, leaning against the ship’s railing with a bored expression.
“Can you blame them?” Moer yawned, delivering a philosophically questionable remark. “This ship’s like a top-tier beauty parading around naked—every inch on full display. Of course men would swarm her.”
“When will we reach Dressrosa?” Lida leaned over the bow, her legs dangling as she peered at the distant island silhouette. “I heard there are fairies there. Wonder what they look like?”
“Fairies?” Moer grinned. “Guaranteed to have killer figures and beauty that drags you into existential crises. Count me in!”
“Energy Drain.”
Before he could finish, Lida suddenly stood on the deck, stomped over, and zapped him mid-sentence. Moer crumpled to the ground like a deflated balloon.
Unfazed, Lida stepped over his limp body and sidled up to Kuro. “Hey, Kuro, when’re we getting there?”
“You’re asking the wrong guy,” Kuro rolled his eyes. “But we’re close.”
This trip required only Lida, Moer, and Ju Geng—someone had to handle cooking. The rest were still clearing pirates near G-3.
---
Three days later, the Golden Lion neared a colossal iron bridge.
“Why stop here instead of going straight to Dressrosa?” Lida grumbled, watching the large island shrink in the distance. “This place’s just a rusty bridge and fog. Can’t even see ahead.”
Kuro narrowed his eyes at the mist beyond the bridge. “Wait. Yi Xiaobrother’s waiting there. Better meet him first—save us the lecture later.”
The bridge connected Dressrosa to a smaller island ahead—Gremlinbit, as Yi Xiao had described.
A commander approached. “Vice Admiral, we’re entering Vegapunk Admiral’s territory. Stay alert—the area’s eerie. Those ‘Fighterfish’ near the bridge have kept ships away for years.”
“Fighterfish?”
Before Lida could ponder, a massive gap split the bridge’s center. Below, shipwrecks littered the waters.
Boom!
A towering wave erupted. From its crest, a jet-black shadow leaped—a shark-like beast with a scythe-like fin atop its head, twin horns on its skull, and a gaping maw of jagged teeth.
“Fighterfish!” the commander shouted, recoiling.
“Got it,” Lida deadpanned, raising a finger.
Shoooo—
A concentrated beam of energy lanced forward, piercing the creature’s body. The monster stiffened mid-air with a guttural growl before crashing into the sea.
“Dinner’s served,” Lida ordered. “Someone haul it aboard.”
“Uh… think there’s more,” Moer pointed. Beyond the mist, countless scythe-finned silhouettes surfaced like sharks.
“Ugh, what if they’re gross? Don’t want a whole banquet of bad sushi,” Lida frowned.
“Worry later.” Kuro raised his hand, his eyes glowing faintly red. “Found them.”
---
Gremlinbit—once a bustling island linked by the iron bridge, now overgrown with colossal vegetation. Only the shoreline remained untouched.
On one beach, Law stood gripping his long blade, escorting a man in handcuffs wearing a thick white coat, neckscarf, and chef’s hat. Across from them, a woman’s disembodied torso conversed calmly.
“Nico Leader, we’re out of time,” Law said grimly. “If Black Leg’s intel was right, our deal with Doflamingo’s off.”
“Wait, deal’s off? You’re not letting me go?!” the chef-hatted man panicked.
“Doflamingo kept his Seven Warlords of the Sea title. Trap confirmed,” Robin replied. “Call Longnose Master. We’re leaving.”
“I’m stuck underground with Usopp,” Robin shook her head. “You go ahead. Meet at the rendezvous port.”
Law nodded—then froze. His eyes snapped to the trees.
A massive figure emerged.
Blindfolded with scars over closed eyelids, the man wore a purple kimono and Navy hooded cloak, leaning on a wooden staff flanked by Marines.
“Trafalgar Law… correct?” he intoned.
“Vegapunk,” Law exhaled.
Robin tensed. “The new Admiral?”
Kshhhkshhkshh!
Pink feathers rained down. From the sky descended a man in a pink-feathered cloak, landing opposite Vegapunk.
“Found you at last!” Donquixote Doflamingo grinned wickedly, tongue flicking. “Law!”
The chef-hatted man brightened. “Joker!!”
“Later, Caesar,” Doflamingo waved. His grin widened at Law. “Kshhhkshhkshh! Clever ploy—dragging an Admiral here. But me? Terrified? Hardly. You’re just a pirate.”
“Enough!” Law gritted his teeth. “How’d you fake the World Government’s announcement? You lied to the world?!”
His plan unraveled. He’d captured Caesar to force Doflamingo’s resignation, then lure the Navy with his alliance with Luffy. Without Seven Warlords protection, Doflamingo should’ve fallen.
“Even I’m curious,” Yi Xiao stepped forward. “If the Navy believed this false report, how’d you manipulate Heaven itself, Heavenly Yaksha?”
“Details don’t matter,” Doflamingo’s grin turned feral, blue veins throbbing. “You forced my hand, Law. Now? I’ll kill you.”
“Run!” Law shoved Caesar toward Robin.
Doflamingo’s fingers twitched—
Booooom!
A tsunami surged from the island, halting at the shore. From the sky, shadows rained down—Fighterfish impaling the beach, their bodies convulsing.
“Oh, here they come,” Yi Xiao tilted his head.
Doflamingo sweated, recognizing the malevolent aura. “Didn’t invite you… Kuro. Or should I say—Golden Lion!”
Above, a figure blotted out the sun.
Kuro spat his cigar, smirking. “Came to drop off a gift.”
He turned to Yi Xiao. “Long time, Yi Xiaobrother.”
