Chapter 642: Hiberrian Thought She Was Pretty Clever
Chapter 642: Hiberrian Thought She Was Pretty Clever
In the lounge area of the student council room, a dark wooden coffee table stood quietly.
President Monastero casually got up and walked to the counter on the other side of the room. Soon, he returned with a tray and porcelain cups, serving cranberry tea to both Ranchi and Hiberrian.
Ever since Vice President Asina graduated and became the head chef at Boss Cat's restaurant, making tea for guests had become a daily task for the president.
"Regarding your clothes, make sure to wash, dry, and put them away when Loren isn't home. Don't let him discover any female garments in the house."
"Also, pay special attention to the fact that there's a 24-hour cooldown for your Human Transfiguration spell. Don't casually remove your disguise at his place, or you might not be able to change back temporarily. Either you'll have to meet him in your armored battle stance or he'll see that there's a girl in the house."
Ranchi continued to advise Florence:
"And even if Loren is feeling very depressed or has suffered a major setback one day, don't take a pillow to his room to chat with him, let alone fall asleep with him."
"Hm."
Hiberrian took a couple of sips from her tea cup, seemingly choking a little.
However, seeing that the president didn't seem to mind, she thought it best to keep her opinions to herself.
After all, it was up to Miss Florence to decide, and the community service of the Ikelite Student Council never interfered with the wishes of their clients.
"Ranchi, I'll keep all your advice in mind. Thank you."
Florence expressed her gratitude.
"It's no problem. Regarding this request involving you and Dean Loren, I'll take full responsibility. Feel free to come to me with any concerns."
Ranchi replied with a determined gaze, ready to serve her to the best of his ability.
"Then I'm counting on you!"
Florence nodded repeatedly.
She lowered her head in thought and then looked up again, this time directing her gaze towards Hiberrian, who was sitting on the sofa opposite her.
"Erm, I have one more girly question that I'd like to ask you, Hiberrian."
Florence whispered, her eyes fixed on Hiberrian.
"I'll go downstairs and find Lana. She's in Professor Polaau's experimental workshop downstairs. I should go get her."
Ranchi immediately stood up, his hand resting on the back of the sofa. A smile played on his lips.
At this distance, he could clearly sense Lana's coordinates. It was time to stop her from studying any further and prevent her from getting too engrossed.
"Hiberrian, I'll wait for you downstairs."
"Oh, okay."
"I'm heading back too. Sister, just close the door to the basement when you leave."
Monastero waved his hand and left with Ranchi.
The sound of their voices in the hallway outside the student council room gradually faded into the distance.
The cranberry tea in the porcelain cups released a rich, sweet, and sour aroma that filled the room, bringing a sense of tranquility to the two girls.
"Hiberrian, you and Ranchi seem to have a great relationship. It's wonderful that you can open up to each other and interact so comfortably."
Florence remarked with a hint of admiration in her vibrant eyes, a rare display of envy towards Hiberrian and concern for herself.
"Miss Florence, why not drop the act and meet Dean Loren directly?"
Hiberrian could understand Florence's sentiment.
She had long been curious as to why Florence was reluctant to let Loren know the truth.
"I was born into a martial arts noble family in the western part of the South Continent, in the Kingdom of Canberra. As the eldest daughter and heir to the family, I was raised as the eldest son. Later, when Monastero was born and my father realized he had no combat talent, he focused even more on grooming me to be the next head of the family..."
Florence gazed out of the window of the student council room, allowing Hiberrian to see only her profile, but not the expression in her eyes.
"So, the first time I met Loren, we were both young and had pure thoughts of survival on the battlefield."
"Before we knew it, he and I had gone through life and death several times, and we felt that entrusting our lives to each other was nothing."
Florence didn't elaborate further on the past.
She believed that those who understood would naturally understand.
It's like wearing a mask for too long, and then you can't take it off.
"I see."
Hiberrian nodded.
She felt that if she had pretended to be a man when she first met Ranchi and had gone through everything with him to become close friends, she probably wouldn't let Ranchi know that she was a girl in this lifetime. She didn't know if it was "unable", "unwilling", or "afraid". No matter which word was used, it was difficult to accurately describe her thoughts.
"Miss Florence, is there anything I can help you with?"
Hiberrian stood up, came to the sofa where Florence was sitting, and sat down beside her.
She felt that she really wanted to help Florence, not only because they were both female clerics of the Goddess, nor because she had always been taken care of by the student council, but simply because she wanted to help the woman in front of her.
"Hiberrian..."
Florence seemed to feel Hiberrian's kindness and looked at her, touched.
"It's just... it's just..."
But when it came to voicing her request, Florence seemed at a loss for words again.
"Actually, I agreed with Loren that we would go out and play together next time. Although he doesn't know that I'm a girl, but now that I think about it, this is my first date with a man. I... I don't know what to do."
Florence finally closed her eyes and said what made her feel embarrassed and shy.
"Uh..."
Hiberrian was stunned after hearing this.
She didn't have much dating experience either, unless hanging out and chatting with Ranchi on the way to and from school every day counted as a date, in which case she could say that she had been on many dates.
"I wouldn't know who to ask for help with this kind of thing. I heard from Monastero that you're very reliable. Can I ask you for some dating advice?"
Florence asked timidly.
"Next time?"
Hiberrian asked, coming back to her senses.
"Yes, the next time we go out, teach me how to get along with a male friend, and if I do something wrong, remind me."
Florence didn't know when Loren would be free next time, it could be in the next month or two, or it could be half a year, but he had promised that there would be a next time.
Hiberrian, who had been a little flustered, seemed to have caught on to the key phrase and suddenly realized what was going on.
"No problem, don't worry, I'll teach you how to interact with a male friend on a date."
Hiberrian clenched her fist and said confidently.
"Thank you, Hiberrian!"
"It's a small matter, Miss Florence!"
The two hit it off, exchanged magical communication details, and chatted away with a smile, clinking their teacups.
