Chapter 641: Infertility is Nothing to Apologize For
Chapter 641: Infertility is Nothing to Apologize For
In the Invisible Empire, Feng Ye had eradicated all life forms, leaving only three people in existence—himself, Bambietta, and Yhwach.
Bambietta had been spared from Feng Ye's 'Sanctification', and as a result, she retained her powers as a Quincy unlike the others.
"What... what did you do to them?" Bambietta asked, her eyes flickering with uncertainty as she looked at the spot where Jugram and the others had disappeared. No matter what, she couldn't simply pretend that nothing had happened to the other Quincies.
"I ended their lives as Quincies," Feng Ye replied calmly, his words sending a shiver down Bambietta's spine.
However, he continued in a peaceful tone, "Then, I granted them a new life as ordinary humans and sent them to the World of the Living."
Hearing this, Bambietta briefly froze before exhaling in relief. At least, among the Quincies, there were still her family members.
But before she could relax further, Feng Ye glanced at her and smiled gently. "By the way, how did you address me just now?"
It seemed like a friendly smile, but this expression made Bambietta tremble involuntarily, and she immediately lowered her head. "I... I wasn't paying attention..."
"So, what do you think is the appropriate consequence for your mistake?" Feng Ye asked.
"Please... please punish me, Master," Bambietta said, bowing her head further.
"Good answer." Feng Ye couldn't help but chuckle, but he didn't do anything other than take a step forward.
Whoosh!
With a single step, the world seemed to shift. In an instant, they had traveled from the edge of the Invisible Empire to the center of Silbern, the Silver City.
The sudden shift in space disoriented Bambietta, and she stumbled slightly. Her eyes then fell on the nearby palace, a mass of black spiritual pressure that seemed alive, and an invisible giant hand gripping it.
"What is that?" Bambietta asked, her eyes widening.
"Yhwach," Feng Ye replied calmly, pointing towards the sky.
Buzz!
The entire space suddenly contracted, and the mass of Yhwach's spiritual pressure writhed and struggled frantically. Yet, it couldn't escape and was forcibly compressed into a ball, hurtling towards Feng Ye.
Feng Ye gazed at the ball of Yhwach's power that had flown before him and said indifferently, "It seems a little unfair to end everything with something you haven't done before. So, off you go."
As his words trailed off, Feng Ye reached out and grabbed the black spiritual pressure.
The black spiritual pressure trembled violently, twisting and turning in a desperate attempt to resist. However, it was forcefully subdued in Feng Ye's hand and completely extinguished.
Feng Ye had completely stripped Yhwach of his power and reclaimed it.
Yhwach's soul had been incomplete since birth. He had relied on his power to give others fragments of his soul, only to reclaim the complete souls later, repeating this process to sustain his life and grow stronger. Now that his power was taken away by Feng Ye, only a fragment of his soul remained.
"Whether you can survive or not is up to you now," Feng Ye said casually, looking at the small fragment of Yhwach's soul that was left after his power was taken away. With a wave of his hand, he sent this fragment of the soul towards the World of the Living.
Bambietta stood by, witnessing everything that was happening. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately, she lowered her head and remained silent, offering no opinion on the matter.
'If you can't afford to offend someone, you'd better act like you can't afford to,' she thought to herself.
Step, step, step...
After sending Yhwach's soul for reincarnation, Feng Ye climbed the stairs leading into the palace, stepping inside. Bambietta followed obediently, trailing behind him as they ventured deeper into the palace. She watched as Feng Ye ascended to the top of the palace and sat down on the throne.
She cautiously stood by Feng Ye's side, attending to him.
Feng Ye rested his left arm on the armrest of the throne, tilting his head to the left and propping his left cheek up with a fist. Then, he gently closed his eyes.
The entire palace fell into a profound silence.
...
In the Soul Society, within the Seireitei:
"Alert! Alert! An unknown spatial disturbance has been detected within the Seireitei, and the cause is unknown!"
"Alert! A large area of spatial depression has appeared in the World of the Living, suspected to be caused by some power penetrating space to create a spatial passage! The origin is unknown!"
The Gotei 13 was in a state of chaos.
The Invisible Empire was located in the shadow of the Seireitei, and the World of the Living was constantly under the surveillance of the Gotei 13. Therefore, the unusual occurrences in both locations immediately drew the attention of the seated officers and captains of the Gotei 13.
The 8th Division Captain, Shunsui Kyoraku, considered the situation gravely and promptly dispatched investigation squads to the affected areas while reporting to the 1st Division and requesting an emergency meeting.
"Although the source of the power is unclear, this level of spatial manipulation is likely beyond the capabilities of an ordinary person. I suspect only that person could be responsible..." Shunsui said, bowing his head slightly as he addressed Captain Commander Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto.
As Soi Fon and Byakuya turned to leave, Soi Fon glanced at Byakuya and suddenly chuckled. "Unknowingly, even that kid who used to run around in a diaper following me has become a captain."
"..." Byakuya's face turned stiff, and a vein popped up on his forehead as he glared at Soi Fon. "Are you looking to spar with me, Soi Fon?"
Soi Fon laughed it off. "No, no, no. I wouldn't want to embarrass you right after you became a captain. That wouldn't be very captain-like of me."
Byakuya's forehead now sported three veins, and half of his face was twitching. "Are you saying I'm inferior to you?"
"Oh, quite the attitude there," Soi Fon remarked with a grin. "Let's see if your skills match that attitude. We'll see who gets there first."
Whoosh!!!
With that, Soi Fon vanished into thin air.
Byakuya's face turned into a mask of annoyance, but after taking a stiff step forward, he refrained from using shunpo to catch up. Instead, he forced himself to remain calm and continued walking down the street with his usual aloof expression.
Moments later, he arrived at the palace where Liana resided.
Soi Fon was already waiting for him at the entrance, a smirk on her face. "Looks like you've grown up quite a bit. You didn't even try to catch up."
"Your pointless provocation won't work on me," Byakuya stated coldly without looking at her. "But if you truly wish to spar, I don't mind showing you the taste of defeat."
As Soi Fon was about to retort, a voice called out from above them. "What are you two arguing about down there?"
They looked up to see Liana sitting atop the 'Zero Separation Palace' plaque, her legs crossed casually as she held her zanpakuto.
She tilted her head, and an invisible force quietly rippled through the air.
Soi Fon's cheerful expression froze, and her face contorted with a mix of emotions before she slumped to the ground, muttering, "I'm sorry for being born human..."
Beside her, Byakuya's face stiffened, and he, too, slumped to the ground, echoing her words. "I'm sorry I can't bear children..."
An awkward silence filled the air.
Soi Fon slowly regained her composure, her face stiff, but she quickly shook it off and shot Byakuya a strange look.
Byakuya stood up, his expression even stiffer than before, as if he were wearing a mask. He gave Soi Fon a stiff glance before looking toward Liana and taking a deep breath to steady his emotions. "Byakuya Kuchiki, the 28th head of the Kuchiki family, greets the princess."
Soi Fon managed to suppress the odd expression in her eyes, biting back a laugh. She knew that if Liana were to leave, Byakuya might not be able to maintain his composure any longer.
"Soi Fon pays her respects to the princess," she said, bowing as well.
Liana jumped down from above, tilting her head playfully. "Did you come to ask about the spatial disturbance earlier? That was indeed my father's doing."
Byakuya bowed again, his face expressionless. "Thank you for clarifying, Princess."
