Chapter 64: Uchiha Kakashi (Bonus Chapter – Please Continue Reading)
Danzō had believed that unleashing massive, destructive ninjutsu within Leaf Village—regardless of civilian casualties or the destruction of buildings—was already extreme enough. But he hadn’t expected to meet someone even more fanatical.
He couldn’t fathom the devastation that would result if the torrent of lava bombs raining from the sky were left unchecked.
Yet one thing he was certain of: neither he nor his Summon Beast could be struck by that molten fury.
He’d already experienced the terror of lava firsthand, days ago.
“Wind Release: Vacuum Jade Array!!”
Danzō inhaled deeply, filling his lungs with air thick with the stench of sulfur. Beneath him, Dream Mō lifted its head and opened its maw wide.
Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!
A barrage of wind orbs shot forth from its mouth, racing upward in dense formation—forming a counterforce to the descending volcanic bombs. The two forces collided midair in a storm of explosive energy.
But just then, a flicker in Danzō’s peripheral vision caught his attention—Uchiha Iizumi had vanished without a trace!
Damn it!
Danzō’s gaze darted frantically across the battlefield, fearing Iizumi might be closing in from behind.
Yet this time, he was overthinking. For Iizumi had no intention of attacking him directly—his first priority was dealing with the persistent little pests.
A glowing, molten orange-red hand—lava flowing like liquid fire—had already seized the face of one Root ninja.
The mask melted instantly. The hand pressed down like a red-hot branding iron, sinking deep into the man’s flesh.
“AAAAAHHHHHHHH—!”
His agonized scream echoed through the air. Iizumi didn’t even need to push—his face collapsed inward like melting butter, sinking into a grotesque, charred ruin.
And then silence. The life was gone.
“There’s a weakness!”
While Danzō and Dream Mō held back the falling volcanic bombs, one Root ninja gritted his teeth, lunging forward with desperate resolve—aiming for Iizumi’s back.
He tore open his battle armor, ripped through his inner layers, bit his thumb, and slashed it across his abdomen.
Instantly, a complex, intertwining network of pitch-black sealing patterns erupted across his stomach. His chakra was sucked away at an alarming rate, and his muscles visibly withered, his body rapidly deflating into a skeletal frame.
“Ninjutsu: Puppet Binding Sealing!!”
Zzzzip!
The black sealing patterns burst apart—three thick, dark iron chains lashed out from his abdomen, streaking through the air toward Iizumi’s back.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The chains pierced Iizumi’s body—no blood spilled, but strange, writhing patterns spread across the molten surface of his skin, creeping like veins of black fire.
From the dying ninja’s hollow eyes, Iizumi appeared to struggle—trying to break free. But no matter how hard he fought, the chains held fast.
“Huh… hah…” The Root ninja gasped, his face pale, a cold smirk curling his lips. “This… is a technique from the… Uzumaki clan…”
“What are you doing?! He’s behind you!”
A sudden, thunderous shout shattered his focus.
Before he could react, the kunai at his hip was yanked from his waist—pulled from behind.
Slit!
His massive head tumbled to the ground, rolling lifelessly.
Iizumi glanced down at the severed head, then at the black chain still embedded in empty air.
Sharingan’s illusion… still too overwhelming.
Especially in life-or-death combat, a single second of illusion could decide a man’s fate.
…
“Meow! They’re surrounding Iizumi-sama in numbers! Newbie, run faster! We’ve got to help Iizumi-sama!”
Tachibana Jiro led a swarm of Ninja Cats, leaping frantically from rooftop to rooftop toward the Yamanaka Clan’s position.
Izumi followed closely behind.
“Tachibana Jiro—what is that?!” Izumi called out, eyes wide as he glanced up at Dream Mō in the distance.
Tachibana Jiro corrected him immediately: “Call me Tachibana Jiro-sama!”
Then, without pause: “That’s Danzō’s Summon Beast—Dream Mō. A powerful one. Specializes in wind-based ninjutsu without hand seals.”
As the cat pack darted across the rooftops, a figure cloaked in black suddenly appeared on a nearby rooftop—drawing their attention.
Izumi passed by in a blur, but as he glanced back, the figure had vanished.
As if it had never existed.
As if it were a hallucination.
“Tachibana Jiro… sama!” Izumi’s pupils tightened. “Did you see that person?!”
Tachibana Jiro’s face darkened. “I saw him… but I didn’t see how he disappeared. Meow… I think I caught a glimpse of a mask—one eye exposed. Never mind him—our priority is helping Iizumi-sama!”
…
“Uchiha Iizumi…”
In the darkness of night, barely visible ripples shimmered in the air. A cloaked figure reappeared.
One visible eye—cold, shadowed, filled with quiet malice.
“If it weren’t for Minato-sensei… I’d have died at your hands long ago.”
He spoke softly, as if to himself.
“They say that little Uchiha Itachi went through something similar… just like me.”
His gaze drifted toward the chaos ahead—toward the growing number of figures rushing toward the Yamanaka Clan’s position.
He sighed, regretful.
“…Nah. Too many people.”
…
Boom!!
A tidal wave of scorching lava surged toward Dream Mō and Danzō. Even from dozens of meters away, the heat was unbearable—Danzō’s eyes stung, his skin itched and cracked.
Dream Mō drew in a deep breath, then unleashed a hurricane-force gust of wind.
The gale roared like a wall of air, blocking the molten flood.
But Danzō sensed something wrong beneath Dream Mō’s feet.
Cracks spread across the ground, glowing faintly red—like veins of fire beneath the earth. Something massive was about to rise.
Danzō’s breath froze.
His pupils contracted.
“Dream Mō—below!” he shouted urgently.
Dream Mō turned its gaze down.
In the next instant, its eyes reflected the searing glow of lava.
Boom—CRACK!
The earth split open beneath Dream Mō’s feet. A colossal wall of molten rock erupted like a giant blade, slashing upward—aimed straight at its head!
Dream Mō scrambled back—but the lava surged too fast. In less than a blink, it tore past.
Danzō watched, frozen in horror, as the crimson blade of fire flashed within three meters of his face.
“RRRAAAAGH!!”
He heard Dream Mō’s agonized roar.
He looked down—just in time to see that the beast’s long nose and half its face had been completely stripped away.
…
