Chapter 64: The Floating Bottom Line
Chapter 64: The Floating Bottom Line
In the evening, an empty classroom in Hogwarts.
The dimly lit oil lamp casts flickering shadows on the walls, illuminating the silhouettes of the three people present.
"I'm glad you came to us, Kyle, but we can't do this," Fred says, keeping his head down and hiding in the shadows.
"We've known each other for so many years, but this is the first time you've come to us for help since you arrived at Hogwarts. I can't even remember the last time we had a meal together," George says, his voice tinged with sadness.
"Last Wednesday," Kyle replies, sitting across from them. After a brief pause, he adds, "You wanted to sell my homework to the new students in Gryffindor."
"My friend, you refused very firmly at the time."
"You don't even know how sad we were when we left," George says softly.
"I just don't need Professor McGonagall's detention," Kyle says. "Selling homework in bulk? How could you even come up with such an idea? Do you think Professor McGonagall is Ron and won't notice something like this?"
"Cough... Well, let's say you have a point," Fred says, lifting his head and looking straight at Kyle. "Then why aren't you worried about Professor McGonagall finding out today?"
"This isn't difficult. You can do it yourself or find anyone in Hufflepuff, can't you?"
"Professor Snape is keeping a close eye on us."
"I understand. You only remember us when it comes to dirty work..."
George sighs. "You've found a place in Hufflepuff, and you like it there. The professors and students like you too.
To be honest, you may not need our friendship. You've never even been willing to call us 'sir.'"
"Cut the crap. Just tell us if you're in or out," Kyle says impatiently, his mouth twitching. "Mr. Weasley, I'm counting to three. If you don't answer, I'll find someone else."
"One!"
...
"Look, George, he's even threatening us."
"Yeah, Fred, we're not falling for that," George says.
"Two!"
...
"I think you can count faster."
Kyle doesn't say anything; he reaches into his pocket, takes out a golden card, and waves it in front of Fred and George.
"...Three."
"We're in!"
Fred and George appear on either side of Kyle, immediately putting on a smile.
"Kyle, was that card you just showed us Agribba?"
"Hmm..." Kyle nods.
"Can I take another look? Just one more glance," Fred says eagerly.
Kyle takes out the rare card again and waves it in front of them.
Fred and George's eyes widen, and their gaze follows Kyle's arm as it swings back and forth.
After about ten seconds, Kyle puts the card away and says to the two who are still eager for more, "Did you see that Agribba? After the task is completed..."
Before Kyle can finish, George exclaims with surprise, "You're going to give it to us?"
"You wish," Kyle says. "After the task is done, I can lend it to you for ten minutes."
"Ten days!" Fred frowns.
"Nine minutes..."
"No, at least a week," George says this time.
"Five minutes..."
"One day, that's our bottom line!" they say in unison.
"Deal."
Kyle extends his hand, and they high-five.
With the deal struck, they proceed to discuss the specific plan.
"We never intended to refuse," Fred says, patting Kyle's shoulder with a mischievous smile. "As long as it makes Slytherin miserable, we're always happy to help."
"However, we need you to provide the props," George said. "That thing needs to be customized, and it's very expensive. We can't afford it."
"Of course, I've already prepared for it."
Kyle placed a stack of Galleons on the table, "Here's a total of twenty Galleons. It should be enough for those two items, right?"
"It's more than enough."
Fred picked up the Galleons from the table and held them in his hands, rubbing them thoughtfully... He had never seen so much money before.
Although he knew that Kyle had made a good profit from selling the map earlier, it was just a guess. The feeling of seeing so many Galleons piled together was completely different.
Is selling maps this profitable?

"Kyle, we..."
George looked at the pile of Galleons in front of him, as if he had something to say.
Kyle glanced at him in confusion.
"Never mind, we'll talk about it later." George shook his head after a moment of thought, then said, "If it's twenty Galleons, Zoco will definitely deliver the items you want on time."
Kyle didn't mind and discussed some specific details with the two before preparing to leave.
"I can't wait," Fred said excitedly. "Slytherin has really messed with you, haven't they?"
Kyle glanced at him and reminded him, "Don't talk nonsense. It has nothing to do with me. I don't know anything."
"Haha, cunning Johnson."
"Heh, stupid Weasley."
...
After saying goodbye to Fred and George, Kyle didn't immediately return to the Hufflepuff Common Room. Instead, he aimlessly wandered the corridors on the third floor of the castle.
He was looking for a special ghost, and the Fat Friar told him that the ghost preferred to stay near the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
However, Kyle didn't find anything after wandering around for over ten minutes.
Just as he was about to leave and come back the next morning, a balloon filled with liquid suddenly flew towards the back of his head.
Kyle tilted his head slightly, narrowly avoiding it.
The balloon hit the ground, emitting a foul odor.
"Hoho, annoying little first-year brat, staying up late instead of sleeping, tsk tsk tsk, naughty. You'll be caught."
Suddenly, a small goblin appeared in mid-air, with a pair of evil black eyes, a big mouth, and legs crossed as he floated, holding two more balloons in his hands.
"Should I tell Filch? Big idiot and little brat, so much fun."
Kyle stood in place, watching with interest as he asked, "Are you Peeves?"
For a moment, a hint of confusion appeared in Peeves' small black eyes, but it quickly turned into anger.
The little brat seeing him not running away was clearly looking down on him. How could he tolerate this?
He threw the remaining two balloons at Kyle, "Yes, I am the great Peeves. I'll tell Filch about your night wandering, and he'll lock you up."
He said earnestly, "I'll tell him, it's for your own good, you know?"
Kyle took out his wand, tossed the two balloons aside, and said calmly, "I agree with your point, but there's still five minutes until curfew time, so it doesn't count as night wandering. And this time, I came specifically to find you."
"Came specifically to find me?"
Peeves was a bit surprised. In Hogwarts, it was rare for a young wizard to actively seek him out.
"Yes," Kyle looked around and said in a low voice, "I have an idea, and I don't know if you're interested in joining..."
