Chapter 639: Unfairness
Chapter 639: Unfairness
Wenwan was confident that she could earn more money this time.
The commission from the orders negotiated by her senior classmates would also count toward her earnings. All she needed to do was pay them ten yuan per day and a small bonus.
They were overjoyed to learn that they would earn ten yuan each day.
Who wouldn't be happy? A trip to the Guangzhou Trade Fair could earn them two hundred yuan, and where else could they make money so easily?
Wenwan, along with a few classmates, greeted approaching clients enthusiastically. If they were interested in clothing, she would personally guide them to the fashion exhibit.
For those not interested in clothing, they would politely direct them to the fair's volunteers, staying focused on their goal.
Jiang Xia wasn't paying attention to Wenwan. She was chatting with Zhang Fuyan and a few students from Q University and Beijing University, all of whom had attended her classes.
She was answering their questions.
Every client who approached them would be politely asked about their needs, and they would be directed accordingly.
At the entrance, staff members were responsible for distributing invitation letters.
There were invitations for a large fashion show and a major food tasting event, both scheduled for that day.
The fashion show was in the evening, while the food tasting event was in the afternoon.
When they encountered clients from the fashion or food industry, the staff would hand them an invitation to attend the corresponding event.
The invitation letters were beautifully designed by students from the Design Institute.
Wenwan had only just arrived at the exhibition and was unaware of the fashion show, let alone the fact that Jiang Xia had organized it.
When she heard everyone talking about the beautiful clothes from the dress rehearsal the previous day, she assumed that every factory had a chance to showcase their products on the runway.
She thought the fashion show might be an opportunity for her to make a lot of money and was already planning how to use it to her advantage.
Around 8:15 AM, two large buses pulled up to the main road of the exhibition center.
About eighty foreign clients got off the buses.
Old He also arrived with one of the buses, leading them toward the exhibition center.
Some of these clients were regular customers who knew Old He well.
Jiang Xia had been waiting for them and went to greet them.
Seeing Jiang Xia approach, Wenwan immediately said to her classmates, "Let's go greet them too."
The group hurried over.
Zhang Fuyan quickly stopped them, "Just wait here. There's no need for so many people to go over."
Wenwan thought Zhang Fuyan was afraid she would steal clients from Jiang Xia. "Why don't you tell Jiang Xia to wait here? You all stay here!"
Without another glance at Zhang Fuyan, she said, "Let's go! Hurry up."
The group hurriedly followed Wenwan, even passing Jiang Xia.
Of course, Wenwan didn't dare run too fast, so as not to appear rude and risk losing her job. She just quickened her pace, making it look like they were enthusiastically welcoming the foreign guests.
Seeing Wenwan and her group with their red armbands, Old He recognized them as staff members and waved them off, "Just stand by the entrance. No need to come over here."
With so many people approaching, anyone who didn't know better might think some important official was visiting!
Wenwan, seeing Old He shoo them away, forced a stiff smile, "Okay."
She regretted not coming over alone; Old He probably wouldn't have shooed her away then.
She and the others turned and walked back to the entrance.
Jiang Xia continued toward Old He.
As Wenwan and Jiang Xia passed each other, Wenwan kindly reminded her, "Jiang Xia, Old He said everyone should wait by the entrance."
"Uh-huh", Jiang Xia replied, continuing forward.
Wenwan pursed her lips, "…"
She knew Jiang Xia wouldn't believe her and waited for Old He to shoo her away too.
Old He was leading a group of people over, smiling at Jiang Xia. "I’ve brought the guests for you. Make sure you treat them well!"
More than half of the people in the two vehicles were foreign businessmen in the food industry. Old He had personally brought them over so that Jiang Xia could translate and introduce the products for them.
This was a strategy Jiang Xia had proposed after summarizing her experiences from the first Guangzhou Trade Fair. She suggested that the foreign businessmen be picked up and escorted by industry, to better serve their specific needs.
So, from the moment the foreign businessmen checked into their hotels, a thorough survey was conducted to understand their requirements for the trade fair. They were then given a schedule for the shuttle buses and a detailed itinerary of the trade fair events.
This not only made it easier for the staff to serve the foreign businessmen, making them feel well-cared for, but also saved on manpower. One staff member could now escort a group of businessmen to the relevant exhibition areas.
It avoided the situation where staff were overwhelmed and also facilitated large promotional activities.
There was a major food tasting event scheduled for the day.
Jiang Xia smiled. "You can count on me!"
Wenwan: "……"
So, all these people were guests that Old He had brought to Jiang Xia?
He had handed all their information to Jiang Xia one by one?
Wasn’t this just a blatant way of giving Jiang Xia money?
This was outrageous!
Jiang Xia stepped forward and greeted the foreign businessmen warmly. "Welcome to the Guangzhou Trade Fair in our country, ……"
After exchanging pleasantries and introducing herself, she began leading them to the food exhibition area, guiding them along the way.
Jiang Xia remembered the names of some of the foreign businessmen and greeted them warmly. They also remembered her and were even more enthusiastic, giving her a big hug and some even kissed her on the cheek.
After the warm greetings, Jiang Xia led the food industry businessmen to the exhibition area.
The food exhibition area was filled with the aroma of various foods.
The foreign businessmen knew about the large-scale free tasting event. Many had skipped breakfast, getting up early to take the shuttle buses directly to the fair.
Being in the food business, they naturally tried the products before placing orders to see how they tasted.
Jiang Xia didn’t show favoritism. She led the group from the first booth, translating the product descriptions for the foreign businessmen and sharing her own opinions and evaluations to attract more orders.
She managed the time well, spending about ten minutes at each booth.
Some businessmen who found interesting products stayed to communicate with the exhibitors.
Most, however, continued to follow Jiang Xia.
Many of the businessmen were not first-timers. They had their regular products to purchase, but they still enjoyed listening to Jiang Xia’s explanations and exploring new products.
Wenwan and her classmates were leading a few foreign businessmen to the fashion exhibition area when they saw Jiang Xia leading a large group from one booth to the next.
She was stunned!
"This is too much!"
A male classmate who had a crush on Wenwan, from a wealthy family in Capital City, was there to spend more time with her. Seeing her upset, he asked, "What’s too much?"
Wenwan pursed her lips and shook her head. "Nothing, just that the world is so unfair. That girl’s father is very influential, and she’s earning a commission for being a translator."
Jiang Qian overheard this and glanced at Jiang Xia, who was holding a sausage, eating it while earnestly explaining the products. He looked thoughtful.
Good morning, I’m here! This is to make up for last night! (End of Chapter)
