Chapter 637: It's Time to End This
Chapter 637: It's Time to End This
As Bombieta panted heavily, her cold sweat soaking through her clothes, the destroyed courtyard below silently restored itself to its original state.
Feng Ye stepped forward, ascending invisible stairs until he reached the window. Instead of climbing through, he moved forward, his body phasing through the window as if he were a ghost, entering the room without a sound.
"Quite a spectacle, huh? What do you think?"
Feng Ye landed gently on the floor, his hands clasped behind his back as he addressed Bombieta calmly.
Bombieta continued to pant, biting her lip. Though she had countless questions swirling in her mind, she ultimately lowered her head, remaining silent.
"You seem deep in thought," Feng Ye said with a slight smile, and then suddenly waved his hand.
The carpet in the room instantly split apart, the fibers intertwining in the air to form a rope as thick as a finger, which flew towards Bombieta.
In an instant, the rope bound Bombieta, wrapping around her wrists and ankles.
Throughout this, Bombieta offered almost no resistance.
Feng Ye observed her reaction and smiled gently. "You're not putting up any resistance or begging for mercy this time. And what's with that look in your eyes?"
Not only was Bombieta not physically resisting, but her demeanor also lacked any sign of panic. Instead, she seemed to have a look of relief on her face.
Suspended in the air, Bombieta met Feng Ye's gaze with a complex expression. "Resistance is futile," she replied.
"Oh dear, where's the fun in that?" Feng Ye mildly complained as he spread his hands. Then, with a wave of his hand, a large number of spirit particles rapidly gathered, forming a ball of light the size of a basketball that took on a golden-red hue and radiated heat.
The ball of light quickly flew upward and hovered over Bombieta's body.
"Wh-what are you going to do…?" Bombieta's eyes followed the ball of light, and a hint of panic flashed in her eyes as a slight tremor crept into her voice.
No matter how much one might anticipate or feel that something is inevitable, it was impossible to remain calm when faced with it.
"Much better," Feng Ye said with a slight smile as he noticed Bombieta's panic and trembling. "Don't worry, compared to what you've used before, this is child's play. It's nice to switch things up and go for a more relaxed style once in a while."
As his words trailed off, Feng Ye flicked his finger.
The golden-red ball of light immediately seemed to melt, and a small droplet of light, the size of an infant's fist, fell from above, landing on Bombieta's back.
Sizzle!!!
A searing heat instantly spread, silently melting the clothes on Bombieta's back as if a ball of fire had landed on her, causing her to let out an "Ah!"
Her body tensed up, but because her legs and arms were bent backward and bound by a rope suspending her in the air, this sudden tensing only pulled on the rope, making the bonds around her body tighter. She felt like she had taken a step off a cliff, and her body went limp.
Huff... Huff... Huff...
Bombieta gasped for air as if she had been submerged underwater for a long time and had finally surfaced, breathing heavily.
Feng Ye smiled gently. "Looks like it's working quite well."
Bombieta, still panting heavily, watched Feng Ye's movements, her eyes filled with panic and trembling. She pleaded, "No... please don't..."
Sizzle!!!
Another ball of light fell, once again causing her body to tense and then relax.
Bombieta twisted her body a few times in the air, biting her lip. She realized that Feng Ye hadn't completely taken away her control over the spirit particles, so she focused her mind and gathered a small amount of spirit particles, directing them towards her back to try and block the scorching heat.
She didn't know how to use the Quiet Blood Armor, and it was impossible to learn it in a short time, but she could still use spirit particles to create a barrier to block the heat falling on her back.
"Don't try to block it with spirit particles," Feng Ye said with a smile. "Where's the fun in that? Disperse those spirit particles now."
Bombieta looked at Feng Ye, her eyes pleading, but he just smiled at her. She bit her lip and then dispersed the spirit particles she had gathered.
"That's more like it," Feng Ye said with a smile, and then he flicked his finger, causing another ball of light to fall.
Sizzle!!!
Bombieta grit her teeth and made a soft sound of endurance as her body trembled in the air. She tensed up again before relaxing and panting heavily.
Feng Ye continuously flicked his fingers, sending down a large number of scorching balls of light that covered Bombieta's body, causing her to let out cries of pain.
Throughout this process, Feng Ye did not take away Bombieta's control over the spirit particles.
In other words, she could manipulate the spirit particles with her mind at any time to form a barrier to block the falling balls of light or even stop them from falling altogether.
Feng Ye maintained a smile on his face and, after several repetitions, stopped causing the ball of light to descend. He then extended his hand, and a large number of spirit particles gathered, causing the huge ball of light floating above Bombieta, which had shrunk in size, to return to its original basketball size.
"Come on, manipulate it and make it float there. You can do it, can't you?"
Feng Ye looked at Bombieta and said with a gentle smile.
The ball of light floating above Bombieta did not have a high density of spirit particles, and it was even less intense than the attack she had used earlier against Feng Ye. For Bombieta, who had the spirit manipulation abilities of a Knight Captain, controlling such a ball of light was extremely simple.
"..."
Sweat beaded on Bombieta's forehead, and her panting gradually calmed down. She looked at Feng Ye, biting her lip slightly, and directed her thoughts towards the scorching ball of light floating above her, causing it to hover in the air.
Feng Ye released his control over the scorching ball of light, allowing Bombieta to manipulate it herself, and smiled at her as he said, "Good. Now, just like before, this shouldn't be difficult for you."
Bombieta looked at Feng Ye, her eyes pleading. "No... please don't..."
Feng Ye smiled gently. "Come on, give it a try."
Bombieta's gaze flickered, but in the end, she controlled the scorching ball of light, separating a small portion and letting it fall onto her body.
"Ah..."
The searing heat made her let out an involuntary cry, and her body tensed up again, almost causing her to lose control over the large ball of light, which shook violently.
Feng Ye raised his hand and applauded gently. "Very good. That's it, continue."
Bombieta looked at Feng Ye pleadingly once more, but seeing that he was just smiling at her, she eventually separated a second small portion of the ball of light and let it fall onto herself.
Sizzle!
"Even in pain, you didn't completely lose control over the spirit particles. Your improvement during this period has been quite effective."
As he spoke, Feng Ye's eyes took on a faint golden glow, and everything in the mansion, including Bombieta's actions in the room, came into his view.
"This is interesting."
Feng Ye sat down and poured himself a cup of tea, taking a sip as he continued to observe Bombieta's actions.
The most interesting part was that although Bombieta could easily destroy the rope and the ball of light, she didn't do so. One might attribute this to her fear of facing even more cruel torture if she disobeyed, but in reality, this psychological factor accounted for only about thirty percent.
More importantly,
She didn't want to disobey Feng Ye's orders.
This was very different from Nel, Tia, Lilith, and his two daughters, Leanne and Liana. While they also obeyed his orders unconditionally and would follow the same instructions as Bombieta, the situations were not the same.
From the beginning, they had absolute obedience towards him, with no hint of rebellion in their hearts. They respected him and believed that his will was everything.
But Bombieta was different.
She had a rebellious mindset, yet she chose not to act on it.
Even if Feng Ye were to tell her that she wouldn't face additional torture or punishment for disobeying, she would still likely obey his instructions.
"Let's see how far you can go in following my orders."
Feng Ye smiled faintly and took a sip of tea before looking out the window.
With the death of a Sternritter, the entire Wandenreich would soon be in an uproar, followed by the gathering of the Sternritter.
He had already decided how to deal with the Quincies.
This trip to the Wandenreich was coming to an end.
