Chapter 634: Giselle Geweill
Chapter 634: Giselle Geweill
Sunlight streamed through the clean glass windows, illuminating the cozy room.
"Ahhh..."
Bambietta suddenly sat up, hugging her shoulders and letting out a frightened cry. Her body tensed as her eyes darted anxiously around the room.
It was only when she realized she was in her bedroom that she gradually calmed down, lowering her head to examine her body.
She was naked, but there wasn't a single scar on her body.
Every inch of her skin was flawless, with no signs of abnormal swelling except where it was naturally supposed to be.
As this scenario had repeated itself several times, Bambietta quickly regained her composure and breathed a slight sigh of relief. "He really keeps his word..."
The memory of Feng Ye forcefully pouring spiritual energy into her mouth until she exploded was undoubtedly not a dream but a real event. Yet, here she was, resurrected once again due to her immortality.
In fact, this immortality was a result of Feng Ye's abilities. If he could grant her such power, he could just as easily take it away. In other words, if he wanted her dead for good, it would be effortless, but he chose not to.
Despite the immense pain she had endured, Bambietta found her hatred fading away, replaced by a sense of gratitude for being allowed to live.
She was grateful that Feng Ye kept his word and didn't kill her.
Recalling her experiences, she acknowledged that while his methods were rough, every act of torture he inflicted on her was something she had done to others in the past. Moreover, every word he spoke to her seemed to be true; he did exactly as he said.
Bambietta sat on the bed, hugging her legs as her thoughts sent her into a daze. Suddenly, she snapped back to reality.
How could she feel grateful to Feng Ye?
Her current predicament was entirely his fault. If not for him, she would still be free, unconfined, and spared the torment she now endured. How could she feel gratitude just because he hadn't killed her?
"His strength is comparable to that of a Sternritter... It's impossible to defeat him with conventional means. Even if my family were to find this place, they would likely lose to him."
Bambietta's expression turned grim.
She understood why Feng Ye was so calm and collected. After all, his power was on par with that of a Sternritter, the pinnacle of strength in the entire Wraith Empire.
If she wanted to escape her current situation, Bambietta concluded that there were only two options: find a way to send information about this place to the Sternritter, or escape and flee to Silbern.
Once she reached Silbern, she would be safe. Even with Feng Ye's formidable power, he wouldn't dare intrude into Silbern, the headquarters of the Sternritter.
And even if...
Even if Feng Ye truly gained Yhwach's recognition and became the second Fallened Quincer to join the Sternritter, she believed that with hard work and by showcasing her talent, she might have a chance to become a Sternritter as well.
If she attained the rank of Sternritter, she and Feng Ye would stand on equal footing.
"Regardless, I must find a way to escape this place. But that man..."
A hint of fear crept into Bambietta's heart as she imagined always encountering Feng Ye's handsome and gentle face no matter how she tried to flee.
It felt like her every move was under his control, like a fish trapped in a net, frantically struggling but ultimately unable to escape.
"..."
After a moment of contemplation, Bambietta shook her head, her eyes reflecting the complexity of her emotions. She temporarily pushed aside her chaotic thoughts, got dressed, and left the room.
She made her way downstairs to the familiar side hall.
In the side hall,
Feng Ye sat at the dining table, leisurely enjoying his breakfast.
Upon seeing him, Bambietta remained composed, unlike her initial encounters with him. She paused only briefly before walking over and taking a seat across from him, picking up her utensils.
"There's no use thinking about it. With your abilities, it's almost impossible for you to escape from here, nor can you hope to send a message for help." Feng Ye took a sip from his glass, his gaze calm as he spoke, revealing the thoughts that had been running through Bambietta's mind.
Bambietta's body stiffened once more as she looked at Feng Ye, her eyes filled with suspicion. "How do you know what I'm thinking? Can you read my thoughts?"
She couldn't understand how he knew about her past and every detail of the torture she had inflicted on others, only to turn it back on her.
Simple surveillance couldn't explain all of this.
After all, she was the young mistress of the Bambietta family. It was inconceivable that Feng Ye could have monitored her every move since birth without the family's knowledge.
"Indeed, I can," Feng Ye admitted with a smile. "But I didn't do that just now because there was no need to... Since you've realized that you can't kill me or win against me, your only options are to stay here and endure my torture or to escape and seek the Sternritter's aid. There's no need to guess."
With that, Feng Ye disappeared outside the door.
Bambietta froze for a moment, then lifted her head to look in the direction Feng Ye had vanished. Her expression stiffened slightly as she spoke, "Even the Sternritter would be of no use... Are you not a little too confident...?"
While Feng Ye's strength was indeed on par with the Sternritter, Bambietta found it hard to believe that even their arrival would be futile. After all, the Sternritter were bestowed with the Holy Letters by Yhwach himself, making them vastly different from ordinary Quincies.
But Feng Ye had never lied to her, and in her memory, he had never made empty promises. If what he said was true—then she dared not think about the implications.
In any case,
She could only suppress the thought and focus on finding a way to escape.
"Without any accidents, escape is impossible. So, is there a chance for an accident to occur?" Bambietta murmured to herself, pausing her stirring.
...
One day, two days, three days.
In the blink of an eye, three days passed, and during this time, Bambietta did not suffer any further torture. It seemed like Feng Ye had temporarily lost interest in tormenting her or was still pondering new methods.
However, the absence of torture only served to heighten Bambietta's anxiety. The longer it went on, the more she felt that something worse might be awaiting her, and she became increasingly hesitant to attempt any form of escape.
Just as Bambietta's unease was reaching its peak,
The unexpected finally happened.
Feng Ye had gone out fishing again, carrying his fishing rod and bucket. Not long after he left, a figure appeared in the distance, approaching the estate.
There were five people in total, four of whom wore the badges of Silver Rack Knights, and the one leading them wore the badge of a Knight Captain. He had an adorable appearance, with two antennae-like cowlicks on his head.
He was the Silver Rack Knight Captain—Giselle Geweill.
That's right.
He, not she, despite his appearance as an adorable young girl, was actually male.
"Hmm?"
"I thought there wasn't a manor here."
Giselle, riding a horse, looked towards the distant manor with a hint of surprise. "Did a family build a manor here? Why wasn't I informed?"
One of the knights following her also looked surprised. "This area is under your jurisdiction. Even if a family wanted to build a manor, they should have notified you."
"Let's take a look."
Giselle furrowed her brows in thought and rode towards the manor. Soon, they arrived at the manor's main gate and entered.
Their entry into the manor was unhindered, and as soon as Giselle stepped inside, her eyes widened slightly as she sensed a faint spiritual pressure within.
"Hmm, this spiritual pressure feels familiar. It's almost like..."
As she recognized the owner of the spiritual pressure, she blinked and looked around the manor, puzzled. "...Little Bambi? What are you doing here? I heard you went missing, and your family has been searching for you high and low in Silver Rack City."
Bambietta emerged from the main hall and stepped into the courtyard, spotting Giselle and her companions. She, too, looked a little surprised.
"Giselle? It's you."
She recognized Giselle, who was also from a noble family. Giselle was older than her and had already joined the Sternritter, attaining the rank of Knight Captain.
"I was about to ask you the same question. Why did you build a manor in my garden without even informing me?" Giselle hopped off her horse and tilted her head, looking at Bambietta.
Bambietta paused for a moment, then looked at the knight beside Giselle and asked, "You just walked right in, and you didn't encounter anything?"
"What are you talking about?" Giselle raised an eyebrow, confused.
Bambietta hesitated for a moment, then walked to the entrance, stopping near the doorway. She carefully extended her finger and touched the area just outside the door.
Sizzle!!!
As soon as her fingernail touched the outside of the door, it sizzled and disintegrated.
This sight caused Giselle's pupils to shrink, and her expression changed slightly. She quickly moved to the doorway and looked outside, but she couldn't see anything unusual.
"What's going on here?"
Realizing that the situation was more complex than it seemed, Giselle's gaze turned serious.
Bambietta retracted her finger and looked at Giselle, saying,
"You try it."
