Chapter 633: I Won't Even Leave You Corpses!
Chapter 633: I Won’t Even Leave You Corpses!
“I—I don’t know what you’re talking about! Just don’t come any closer!”
Fen Ni kept her eyes tightly shut as she screamed.
Seeing this, a flicker of nostalgia passed through Moer’s eyes.
He extended his hand, then let it fall back to his side.
“Ugh, this is such a pain. I just can’t bring myself to do it.”
Moer scratched his head, glancing toward the others.
White Whale?
Nope. That woman seems to be the strongest.
Black Wolf?
He doesn’t look weak either.
Colossal Shield and Big Gun?
Even harder to deal with.
What about the blue-haired one and the ninja-looking guy who’ve been maintaining order without joining the fight?
They’re no pushovers either.
And that guy with the cross spear? Also a problem.
“After all that, you two are still the easiest targets.”
Moer sighed, turning his gaze to Fen Ni and Sazil.
The archer is tricky too, and he couldn’t bring himself to attack the girl named Fen Ni. That left…
His eyes settled on Sazil, who was slowly recovering.
“It’s you then. Well, I’d say that, but I guess you won’t just let me?”
Earlier, he’d seen White Whale standing still while Colossal Shield blocked Iron Maiden’s path. Everyone else was converging here.
Moer groaned, “Do you really need this many people to take me on?”
Klah said coolly, “It’s just you left. We’ll set aside the iron coffin for now—Kas’s strength should be enough to handle her if she’s a spirit-type opponent.”
“That’s true enough. The Devil Fruit ability of the holy maiden officer is mental influence,” Moer nodded.
“So it is a Devil Fruit ability?”
Klah frowned. “You actually admitted it so easily. Are you ready to write your last will or something? Then hurry up and use your ‘sloth state’ or whatever it is.”
“Well, the thing is… I don’t actually know how to use sloth state.”
Moer forced a smile. “Besides, it doesn’t really matter whether I say it or not, because your leader…”
He pointed toward Sky, his expression souring.
“It’s here.”
Boom!
As he spoke, Sky’s arrival sounded like a wisp of muffled thunder. A streak of golden-white light, laced with jet-black, appeared in the sky.
The golden-white glow came from his uniform.
The jet-black was the blade in his hand.
Sky descended with a cold, sharp expression. His black hair fluttered in the wind, yet the snowstorm parted around him as if deliberately avoiding his body.
“Kuro!”
Lida waved excitedly upward.
Kuro’s figure slowly descended, scanning the corpses lying in the snow. He frowned. “Hmph. So you’ve all gathered here.”
His gaze shifted to Moer, then flicked to another direction. “Iron Maiden? The aura’s coming from inside that thing. There’s someone inside that torture device? Who’s the sicko who designed this?”
The strongest aura he’d sensed was emanating from that very contraption.
“She’s their holy maiden.”
Lida ran to Kuro’s side. “There’s a woman inside that iron thing.”
“Oh, so the culprit’s inside?” Kuro bared his teeth. “You chased me all the way from East Blue to the New World, destroyed my hometown, and now you’re messing with my territory? You’ve got guts.”
“The Pride’s representative.”
Iron Maiden’s mask opened, revealing a pure, serene maiden’s face. Her eyes remained closed as her voice rang out, holy and ethereal:
“Come, let us save the world together. Your strength is the most suited for this task. I shall grant you the final position—yours is the destiny of Pride.”
“Oh-ho?”
Kuro laughed mockingly. “You think you can recruit me? Don’t you know I’m already furious? Pretending to be some divine figure… Kas, move aside!”
“Yes, Vice Admiral Kuro!”
Kas shouted, activating Acceleration with Douglegnavy and quickly clearing a path in front of Iron Maiden.
The moment they moved, Kuro swung his blade forward. The snow on the ground surged upward, twisting into a dragon of pure white. The dragon’s head roared, its maw opening wide to bite down on Iron Maiden.
Boom!
Just then, a shadow shot from the side of the white dragon’s path, exploding into the snow-formed head and shattering it.
“You can’t damage the holy maiden officer, you know. After all, I’m bound by her influence.”
Moer appeared at the edge of the blast, smiling bitterly. “Unless you defeat me, I can’t just stand by and watch.”
“Hmph?”
Kuro’s eyebrows lifted. His blade, Autumn Water, spun in his hand.
Whoosh!
The scattered snow reassembled, this time forming a massive lion’s head. Laden with Haki, it plummeted from the sky, crashing straight toward Moer.
Boom!
The lion’s head struck the snow, leaving a circular crater that radiated outward like an avalanche.
“Interesting.”
Kuro didn’t even glance at the impact zone. Instead, he squinted toward his left. “Teleportation?”
In an instant, his aura reappeared there, without a trace of residual energy from movement.
Faster than Lucius’s speed?
No, this man’s power wasn’t terrifyingly overwhelming like Lucius’s aura, but how did he move so fast?
“Vice Admiral Kuro.”
Sazil ran over. “This guy ate the Dao Marker Devil Fruit. He can instantly teleport using waymarks.”
“Waymarks?”
Kuro immediately understood, his expression twisting. “Like the Flying Thunder God? Kamekame, no wonder you could move from the mountaintop here so quickly.”
“That’s right. I’m a Devil Fruit user.”
Moer emerged from the blizzard, smiling wryly. “Look, since you can’t catch me anyway, why don’t we just call it quits?”
Kuro’s face darkened with rage. “Call it quits? You’re messing with my territory and destroyed my hometown! If I let this slide, where’s my dignity? Even if the Four Emperors showed up today, I’d still fight them all!”
As he spoke, his figure flickered, leaving multiple afterimages in the snow before instantly appearing before Moer.
“This speed—”
Moer’s pupils contracted. Instinctively, he tried to retreat, activating his waymark.
But at that moment, Kuro’s other hand clenched shut with a roar: “Wind Coffin!”
The falling snow froze midair, the entire blizzard halting in place.
Moer’s body trembled—not from fear, but from the strain of trying to move his immobilized limbs.
In his perception, the air itself had solidified, binding him in invisible chains.
“I can’t move…” he whispered in horror.
Before the words faded, a streak of Black Radiance slashed through his vision.
Hiss!
A jet of blood erupted from his chest, staining the snow crimson.
Moer’s mouth opened, his eyes losing focus. His body began to collapse, but the invisible force held him upright, unable even to fall.
“Tch. What a joke.”
Kuro spat contemptuously, then turned Autumn Water toward Iron Maiden.
“It’s just you left. I don’t care what you are—you’re not walking away today. If I have to, corpses I won’t even leave you corpses!”
His hometown was ruined. G-3 was destroyed.
He’d chased them all the way to this frozen wasteland, only for them to play tricks like feinting left and striking right.
He was already furious about the recent pirate threats to Golden Lion. Now G-3, one of the New World’s most prestigious Marine branches, had been attacked.
His reputation—his pride—was in tatters.
He’d just taken command!
If he backed down now, what would others think of him?
What about Lucius Kro’s reputation? Or his grandfather’s honor?
And because of this, he knew he’d have to spend time reasserting control over the Grand Line before restoring G-3’s order. All of this was a massive, infuriating threat to his safety.
The Four Emperors were already watching him.
And all of it—all of it—was this iron torture device’s fault.
