Chapter 632: You Two Are Both Excellent Actors!
Chapter 632: You Two Are Both Excellent Actors!
Is this even possible?
Ivan looked at Fred and Angelina, who were cuddling together, feeling utterly speechless. He couldn't help but wonder if Fred was deliberately putting on a show to advertise their new paid service.
Harry, who had been watching the scene, was somewhat tempted. One Galleon didn't seem too expensive...
After dinner, the group walked back to the Gryffindor Common Room together. As they passed a corridor, Ivan remembered he still had to practice Legilimency with Luna. He turned to the others and said,
"Harry, Hermione, you two go back first. I just remembered I have something to do! I'll head back to the dormitory a bit later."
Hermione watched Ivan's retreating back, her gaze thoughtful, and turned to Harry to ask, "Is Ivan very busy lately?"
"I'm not sure, but sometimes I can't find him in the evenings..." Harry shook his head and replied casually.
...
"Legilimency!"
On the eighth floor, in a quiet classroom, Ivan waved his wand again, his thoughts flooding into Luna's mind.
This time, the memory scene was set in the Ravenclaw Common Room.
Ivan silently witnessed several Ravenclaw girls teasing Luna, pulling out the Dirigible Plums she had painstakingly planted and throwing them on the ground, or hiding a piece of clothing she cherished...
While these were all trivial matters, they occurred frequently in the memory. Ivan's anger built up, and when he withdrew from the memory, he asked angrily,
"Do they always treat you like this?"
"Not always, at least they've teased me less this year", Luna shook her head and then looked at Ivan with a light-hearted tone. "I think they'll come around eventually!"
Ivan sighed, unsure how to respond to Luna's innocent belief, but he nodded in agreement with her sentiments.
"Sure, I believe they will too!"
He decided to find a time to talk to Luna's roommates and make them reflect on their behavior.
After making this decision, Ivan noticed it was getting late and decided to stop practicing magic. He and Luna left the empty classroom together.
On the way, Ivan opened the System Bar to check his magic practice progress. With Luna's help, his Legilimency had successfully reached level five.
As a result, his proficiency had been increasing more slowly over the past few days.
Thinking about this, Ivan suggested that Luna try to resist him during their next practice session. If she was too compliant, it would be difficult to improve his Legilimency proficiency.
"Here are my notes on Occlumency. You can take a look if you have time", Ivan said, pulling out a thick book from his pocket, which was enchanted with an Extension Charm, and handed it to Luna.
Luna took the book, about to say something, when she noticed Ivan suddenly turn to look down the corridor.
"What's wrong?" Luna asked curiously, also turning her gaze, but seeing nothing.
"I thought I saw someone following us..." Ivan said uncertainly.
Could it be Crouch? Ivan immediately thought of this possibility. The most likely person to follow him would be one of Voldemort's agents.
"Do you know who it was?"
Luna's ethereal voice echoed in the corridor.
"No, not yet. But just to be safe, let's meet in a different place from now on!" Ivan said cautiously. While he believed Voldemort's agents wouldn't reveal themselves until they achieved their goals, it was still better to be prepared.
Luna nodded in agreement.
"Also, thank you for the past few days..." Ivan looked at Luna, a bit embarrassed, and said.
“Sure, I can help. We are friends, aren't we?” Luna said softly.
“Yeah, of course!” Ivan laughed.
After saying goodbye to Luna, Ivan walked alone through the castle’s corridors, his expression serious as he took out the Marauder's Map to check it.
— At this moment, Crouch was in the staff office, and Mad-Eye Moody was near the Great Hall. Judging by the timing, it was unlikely that they were the ones following him.
Of course, it wasn't impossible that Crouch had used a special Secret Passage to get back to his office in just a few seconds.
Ivan then scanned the rest of the castle, but there were no suspicious names, so he put the Marauder's Map away, temporarily forgetting about it. He still needed to find time to check on Norbert today.
…
In the Forbidden Forest, at the Dragon Enclosure.
Charlie, who had just finished feeding the dragons their dinner, didn’t have a chance to rest when he saw Ivan approaching from the entrance of the Arena.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead and laughed as he walked over.
“Ivan, what brings you here? Here to see Norbert?” Charlie asked with a smile.
“Yeah, you could say that,” Ivan replied casually, then asked more seriously, “By the way, Charlie, when do you plan to transport these dragons back?”
“Not for a while. These big guys are a handful, and long-distance flights are always a hassle. This time, we almost got spotted by Muggles! So we’re planning to apply to the Ministry of Magic for an international Portkey to send them directly to Romania!”
Charlie spoke enthusiastically, adding that the international transportation would require multiple approvals, and it might take over a month to get everything sorted out.
Ivan nodded, feeling a bit relieved. One of the prerequisites for fusing bloodlines was fresh blood, which couldn’t be more than three days old.
This was why he was eager to confirm with Charlie when they would leave.
Now it seemed he had more time than he had expected.
“Charlie, when you’re ready to leave, can you let me know in advance? I want to say a final goodbye to Norbert,” Ivan looked at Charlie and requested.
“Of course, no problem at all,” Charlie agreed without hesitation. After all, it wasn’t a violation of any rules.
“Come on, I’ll take you to see Norbert!” Charlie grabbed Ivan’s arm and led him to one side of the Arena, still talking excitedly about Ivan’s performance there the previous day.
“Did you know? I used to dream of facing a dragon in combat. This year’s Triwizard Cup, you accomplished what I always wanted to do,” Charlie said, his hands gesturing excitedly.
Then, as if remembering something, Charlie lowered his voice and said tentatively, “Of course, I think Norbert did a great job too. You two put on a fantastic act!”
“You know?” Ivan raised an eyebrow, surprised.
“I’m a professional when it comes to dragons…” Charlie shrugged and smiled. “After the match, I checked Norbert’s injuries and found that it was just some superficial damage. Such attacks wouldn’t bring a dragon down.”
“But don’t worry, I covered for you. Your relationship with Norbert is only known to me. No one else will suspect anything…”
