Chapter 63: Medical Forbidden Jutsu
Chapter 63: Medical Forbidden Jutsu
In the distant God-Falling Valley, Yuyi Xuan Yue, perched atop the statue of Hashirama Senju, glanced towards the direction of Konoha.
"It has begun," he murmured.
This outcome was not unexpected.
Typically, a person wouldn't go to great lengths to follow someone just because they met them once and received a simple promise.
But Sasuke wasn't an ordinary person.
Driven by his thirst for revenge, he had already shown his willingness to let Orochimaru use his body. Now that he had a better goal in mind, taking a risk was only natural.
Between Orochimaru and Yuyi Xuan Yue, anyone with knowledge of the ninja world's history would know whom to choose.
Yuyi Xuan Yue quickly averted his gaze and settled into a cross-legged sitting position.
He wasn't a babysitter, and he had no interest in fetching Sasuke.
It was up to Sasuke to forge his own path and let fate decide the rest.
Yuyi Xuan Yue's attention turned inward, focusing on his own concerns.
He picked up two scrolls – the Medical Forbidden Jutsu: Flesh Vitalization and Medical Forbidden Jutsu: Flesh Regeneration, obtained from Shennong.
As jutsu involving the flesh that even Orochimaru coveted, Yuyi Xuan Yue's interest was piqued after reading through them.
Having already mastered the techniques, he didn't hesitate to form the necessary hand seals.
"Medical Forbidden Jutsu: Flesh Vitalization!"
In an instant, Yuyi Xuan Yue felt his cells invigorated, as if boiling with energy. His muscles swelled, and his body's speed, strength, and endurance improved.
While these enhancements were but a drop in the bucket compared to his overall strength, that wasn't the primary purpose of this jutsu.
Soon, Yuyi Xuan Yue altered his hand seals.
"Medical Forbidden Jutsu: Flesh Regeneration!"
In this moment, the vitalized cells within Yuyi Xuan Yue's body erupted with a vibrant green glow filled with the essence of life. Under his deliberate command, they swiftly filled and mended his various wounds.
Visibly, the large and small depressions that marred his body began to swell like inflating balloons, rapidly healing.
This included the severely sunken wound on his chest.
Flesh regenerated, bones knitted together, and skin grew over the wounds.
In the blink of an eye, Yuyi Xuan Yue's once scarred body returned to its original state, his skin smooth and fair, indistinguishable from that of a healthy person.
Yuyi Xuan Yue stood up and tested his body, nodding in satisfaction.
"A remarkable medical jutsu, indeed."
Compared to other medical ninjutsu, the techniques obtained from Shennong offered more immediate and noticeable healing effects.
Of course, being labeled as forbidden jutsu meant that they had drawbacks that prevented their widespread use.
For example, they consumed an enormous amount of chakra, far beyond what a typical jonin could muster. They also required a robust physique to support the technique; otherwise, the strain of regenerating wounds while simultaneously enduring the massive cellular expenditure would cause the user to collapse from exhaustion.
Fortunately, these were challenges that Yuyi Xuan Yue could overcome.
"While it may not compare to Hashirama Senju's instant and seamless recovery, it's still an excellent means of restoration."
"The wisdom of those who came after cannot be understated," he added, marveling at the advancements made by the generations that followed the legendary shinobi.
Yuyi Xuan Yue's body was now mostly healed, save for a lingering injury.
He touched his chest, and deep within, influenced by the Eternal Slumber technique, the senjutsu chakra of Hashirama Senju, intertwined with his being for decades, stubbornly remained.
While the medical forbidden jutsu excelled at regenerating flesh, it fell short when it came to the delicate task of separating senjutsu chakra.
"I'll have to make a trip to Konoha," Yuyi Xuan Yue mused.
If there was anyone in the ninja world who understood Hashirama Senju best, it would be the members of the Senju clan in Konoha, his direct descendants.
And when it came to the breadth of medical ninjutsu, Konoha, always at the forefront of innovation, couldn't be matched by Shennong alone.
Yuiyi Xuan Yue was, of course, interested in senjutsu.
With no connection to the three holy lands for the time being, the residual senjutsu chakra of Hashirama Senju within him was undoubtedly a good subject for research.
The prerequisite for all this was to successfully peel it away.
The study of chakra and ninjutsu was never something one could achieve by meditating alone in a secret room.
In the ninja world, it was essential to be assisted by various high-tech research instruments.
As the only experimental subject at the moment, this was also one of the reasons why Yuiyi Xuan Yue had not used more extreme methods to deal with the senjutsu chakra within him.
He had already made up his mind, but now was not the time.
Yuiyi Xuan Yue looked toward the direction of Konoha again, curiosity in his eyes as he said, "Now, let's see where this new wind that has veered off course will eventually blow."
Bang!
In the vast forest, a signal firework shot out from the treetops, exploding in the sky and blossoming into a dazzling display of colors.
"Damn brats!"
The Sound Four, weaving through the trees, noticed the fireworks above them and glanced toward the group of Konoha genin not far behind them, their faces filled with anger and killing intent.
"I'll go and kill them!" said Tayuya, taking out her short flute eagerly.
Because they had encountered a Konoha squad along the way, although the Sound Four had defeated them, they had lost some time, allowing Nara's squad to catch up.
Neither side was willing to let the other out of their sight.
Originally, the Sound Four hadn't paid much attention to this group of genin, who weren't even chunin, and had planned to dispose of them quickly.
But these Konoha genin were cunning. They maintained their distance and released signal fireworks from time to time, calling for nearby Konoha ninjas to come to their aid.
"If this continues, there will be more and more Konoha ninjas, and we won't be able to complete Orochimaru-sama's mission!" Jirobo, aware of the seriousness of the situation, frowned.
Kidomaru glanced at the Nara squad and then forward, a cold light flashing in his eyes as he said, "That brat leading them is very cautious. Charging straight at them won't be very effective. But prey will eventually fall into the spider's web. From now on, follow my lead."
As the one who was best at capturing prey, Kidomaru quickly formulated a plan.
In the back.
Under Nara Shikamaru's command, the squad maintained their distance from the Sound Four.
During this time, both Naruto and Kiba were getting impatient.
"Shikamaru, how much longer are we going to keep this up? If we don't hurry, Sasuke will get too far ahead!" Naruto said anxiously.
"Yeah, yeah! Why don't we just rush forward and take care of those four guys first?" Kiba suggested.
"Those four guys are not easy to deal with," Shikamaru refused. "Even if we really beat them, we won't have the energy to go after Sasuke afterward."
Because Sasuke was not in the hands of the Sound Four.
After encountering the Sound Four, Shikamaru had chosen not to engage directly but to preserve the squad's strength, continuously sending out distress signals for nearby Konoha ninjas to come and deal with the Sound Four.
Shikamaru was well aware that their mission from the Hokage was to retrieve Uchiha Sasuke.
Wasting time and energy on the Sound Four would only result in mission failure.
All he needed to do was buy some time, and his plan would succeed.
