Chapter 63: Leaf Village's Volcanic Bombs in Flight! (Bonus Chapter – Please Keep Reading, More Updates Coming)
The colossal Summon Beast, Dream Mō, had barely materialized when Setsuna appeared—its arrival instantly summoning a howling gale that swept outward in violent waves. Even the six Root ninjas standing before Danzō were forced to stagger, barely able to maintain their footing in the storm.
Dream Mō lifted its massive head, gazing up at the clash of the molten lava dragon and the torrential Water Release technique above. With a deep, thunderous roar, it opened its maw wide. Inside, a vortex of wind rapidly coalesced—building into a massive, translucent wind sphere nearly twenty meters in diameter, visible to the naked eye.
With a single explosive exhale, the sphere shot forth. It tore through the lava dragon in an instant, shattering it, and obliterated the six water dragon projectiles with equal force. The resulting storm surged like a typhoon across the battlefield, bending trees for hundreds of meters, and sending leaves spiraling from trees as far as a kilometer away.
Danzō had already leapt onto the beast’s back, his cloak flapping wildly in the wind—but he stood firm, unshaken. His face remained expressionless as he formed hand seals, drawing in a deep breath.
“Wind Release…”
Dream Mō opened its maw once more, drawing in a torrent of air into its belly.
“Wind Slash Technique!!”
At the same instant, Danzō and the Summon Beast unleashed their attack—two crescent-shaped wind blades, one large, one small, slicing through the air in unison, racing toward Uchiha Iizumi.
Where the blades grazed the ground, deep furrows split the earth, as if carved by a blade of pure force.
“Can’t seal just part of you? Then I’ll crush you completely—shatter every inch of you and trap the fragments within. I’ll be damned if you survive this!”
Danzō’s eyes burned with cold, merciless intent. He believed Uchiha Iizumi’s Molten Release had limits. After all, how could a human possibly become an immortal monster simply by possessing a bloodline limit?
Six Root ninjas moved in without hesitation. Wind Release, Water Release, Earth Release—every technique they believed could counter Molten Release was unleashed in a chaotic barrage, surging toward Uchiha Iizumi.
…
“Dream Mō… Danzō…”
Hiruzen Sarutobi, already racing toward the source of the commotion, his expression darkened to the point of storm clouds. Bringing such a dangerous Summon Beast into the heart of the village? Danzō—had he no respect for the Hokage? No regard for innocent lives?
“Haiichi, what’s the situation?” Hiruzen demanded, voice sharp with urgency, as he flew alongside Yamana Haiichi.
Haiichi grimaced. “Hokage-sama… I don’t know what’s going on between Danzō-sama and Iizumi. They just… happened to meet at the edge of our Yamanaka Clan outpost. Before I could react, they were already at each other’s throats.”
Hiruzen’s headache worsened.
…
Within the Uchiha clan grounds, Fugaku stood motionless, eyes fixed on the distant spectacle.
Dream Mō… Lava…
He knew immediately—another clash had erupted between Iizumi and Danzō.
The last time, Iizumi had killed two Root ninja and exposed Danzō’s secret: the existence of Sharingan implants. That revelation had made Fugaku distrust Danzō deeply. He knew full well that Danzō coveted the Sharingan—desperately. And worse, he had implanted Sharingan eyes into himself without the Uchiha clan’s consent.
As footsteps approached behind him, Fugaku didn’t need to turn. He knew his wife had come.
“Has Sasuke woken up yet?” he asked.
Uchiha Mikoto shook her head. “He’s still unconscious.”
Fugaku exhaled slowly, then made his decision. “Stay here and watch over him. I’ll go see what’s happening.”
…
In Uchiha Iizumi’s eyes, the three tomoe of his Sharingan captured every detail—the trajectory of both Wind Slash Techniques, the twin wind blades hurtling toward him. With a split-second twist, he angled his body sideways, narrowly avoiding the larger blade. The translucent wind edge grazed his side by less than ten centimeters.
The sheer force of the Wind Release sent ripples across his molten skin.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Behind him, the Yamanaka Clan’s outpost was cleaved into three jagged pieces by the twin wind blades. Buildings collapsed in ruins.
“Molten Release…”
“Big eruption.”
Facing the six Root ninja’s onslaught, Iizumi’s right arm surged with molten lava, expanding violently. As he lunged forward, his arm transformed into a monstrous, volcanic fist—massive, terrifying, radiating heat and power.
Every technique that struck it shattered like glass. The sheer force of the eruption resembled a volcano’s fury, vaporizing their jutsu in an instant.
The molten debris erupted outward—transforming into a barrage of devastating Volcanic Bombs. Though they seemed chaotic in flight, they moved with eerie precision—aiming straight for the six Root ninja, Danzō, Dream Mō, and the two giant turtle Summon Beasts.
One of the turtle summons, caught off guard, failed to dodge. A volcanic bomb—over a meter wide—cracked down onto its back.
At first, it barely flinched. Its shell, thick and durable, should have withstood any ordinary attack.
But then—its eyes widened in horror.
Boom!
The bomb punched straight through the shell. The searing lava melted the armor like wax, then plunged deep into its flesh. Within seconds, most of its internal organs were roasted to ash.
Pain exploded through its mind. It tried to flee—but it was too late.
Boom!
A second bomb struck its skull dead-on. The head split open in a massive gash. Its powerful legs collapsed instantly. It collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
The second turtle summon, terrified, unleashed a torrent of water in a desperate attempt to block the falling bomb. But one Volcanic Bomb still struck its tail.
The heat was unimaginable—its entire tail vaporized instantly. Bones, flesh, everything—gone. Only a plume of white smoke remained.
The creature screamed in agony, then—without hesitation—abandoned its summoning contract, dissolving into the air, fleeing in panic.
Uchiha Iizumi’s crimson eyes flicked toward a masked Root ninja, whose gaze met his—eyes wide with shock.
“…No…”
The Root ninja’s heart sank. His pupils contracted. He frantically formed seals, trying to dispel a Sharingan genjutsu he wasn’t even sure was real.
But then—above him—thousands of Volcanic Bombs began falling like rain.
He couldn’t tell which were real, which were illusions. He didn’t know which way to run.
Boom!
One bomb struck three meters behind him.
The ground exploded upward, hurling a massive stone into the air—crushing his skull. Scorching droplets of lava rained down like shrapnel, piercing his body.
His entire form trembled violently. Then—still as stone—he collapsed forward.
Dozens of blackened, smoldering holes pockmarked his body. Flames danced around the wounds.
The remaining Root ninja scattered. Some countered the falling bombs with their strongest jutsu. Others leapt onto rooftops of nearby civilian homes—desperate to survive.
They soon realized: although the Volcanic Bombs didn’t avoid civilian buildings, most landed in open fields. The pattern was clear—intentional.
Still—fate wasn’t kind.
One ninja, caught off guard, was swallowed whole by a bomb.
He vanished—no trace left.
