Chapter 629: Alola!
Chapter 629: Alola!
At 11 a.m., the plane landed at the Malumalu Island Airport.
As Shizuru stepped off the plane with Xiaoshu in his arms, he felt a pleasant warmth enveloping his entire body.
Indeed, the climate in the Alola region was spring-like all year round, and fortunately, they had prepared early, changing out of their heavy clothes while still on the plane.
"Let's head back to the ranch first! It's past noon, and everyone must be hungry!" Qi Shu exclaimed.
"I was just thinking the same," Shizuru nodded in agreement. Without lingering in Haolele City, they rode on their Gogoats towards Akala Island.
After about ten minutes, a western-style rural town came into view in the distance.
Qi Shu was quite surprised, "This feels like the wild west from old movies!"
"Doesn't it?" Shizuru smiled, "I felt the same when I first came here. It's a completely different vibe from the Parida Region. We're almost there!"
Passing through Ohana Town, they arrived at a vast plain ahead.
The plain was covered in lush green grass, with a meandering stream running through it. Scattered across the plain were several ranches, and from above, one could see numerous Pokemon running in the grass.
"The ranch ahead is where we'll be staying this winter!" Shizuru pointed to an empty ranch in the distance and said to Qi Shu.
"It does seem a bit empty," Qi Shu couldn't help but comment.
Shizuru chuckled, "It'll get lively soon."
Before the Gogoat had even landed at the ranch, Shizuru spotted a dark-skinned boy standing on the grass in the middle of the ranch, waving vigorously at them.
It was Kachi, whom Shizuru had hired to help with the ranch's cleaning periodically.
Kachi seemed delighted. He waved and shouted, "Mr. Shizuru!"
"Long time no see, Kachi. How have you been lately?" Shizuru asked with a smile as he stepped off the Gogoat.
"Yeah, it's been great. Next year, I'll be attending the Pokemon School!" Kachi replied.
Next year... that was the year when Satoshi would travel to the Alola region.
By then, Ultra Beasts and other powerful Pokemon would start appearing all over the Alola region.
Shizuru's expression remained unchanged, and he smiled, "Congratulations."
Noticing Kachi's gaze shift to Qi Shu and Xiaoshu, he introduced, "This is my wife, Qi Shu."
"Hello, Miss Qi Shu!" Kachi greeted her calmly.
Qi Shu giggled in response, "Hello, Kachi!"
"Oh, I almost forgot I have to deliver milk, too!" Kachi suddenly remembered his task. He quickly bid farewell to the couple, "Mr. Shizuru, I'll take my leave. I'll visit you again when I have time!"
After saying this, Kachi jumped onto the back of a nearby Charizard and waved goodbye to Shizuru. Soon, he disappeared into the sky.
"It's so like Kachi!" Shizuru watched Kachi's departing figure in the sky and couldn't help but sigh.
He shook his head helplessly, then removed the dimensional backpack from his body and took out several Poke Balls from it.
"Everyone, come out!"
As flashes of white light appeared, one by one, the figures of Pokemon emerged onto the grass.
Motolizard, Babutap, Frost Fairy, Large Milk Can, Big Butterfly, Riding Goat, Salt Rock Golem, Pterafly, Triple Bee, Caretaker Brothers and Sisters...
Qi Shu followed suit, releasing the Electabuzz and the others from their Poke Balls.
Looking at the group of Pokemon before him, Shizuru, like a patriarch, said to them, "We're here. This is where we'll be staying for a while. Get familiar with the surroundings, but don't wander off. I need to clean the house now!"
The Pokemon curiously examined their new environment.
The Caretaker Brothers and Sisters were eager to help and expressed their desire to assist with the cleaning.
Housekeeping was their forte.
"In that case, I'll leave it to you!" Shizuru said with a hearty laugh.
The siblings entered the house and started tidying up.
Meanwhile, the other Pokemon began exploring the brand-new ranch.
After giving some instructions, Shizuru entrusted Xiaoshu to the care of the three Legendary Beasts who had followed them, and then he took Qi Shu to the room to organize their belongings.
They hadn't brought many things with them, just some clothing and daily necessities.
It was only now that Shizuru realized they were lacking quite a few items.
Things like a washing machine, cooking utensils, various spices...
"We're missing a lot of things!" Qi Shu looked around and couldn't help but speak up.
"There's no other way. We'll have to buy them in town," Shizuru said.
It would also be a good opportunity to purchase some crop seeds.
The Alola region had a warm climate, remaining warm and humid year-round with abundant rainfall. It was because of this climate that unique crops not found in the Parida Region thrived here.
Crops like coconut trees, guava trees, mangoes, bananas, pineapples, coffee beans, and sugarcane.
Coffee beans could be used to make coffee, and sugarcane could be processed into sugar. These Alola specialties were often sold to other regions.
When Shizuru stepped out of the house, he saw that the group of Pokemon outside had already found their preferred places to settle.
The large milk cans gathered in the meadow, feasting on the fresh and lush grass. The braided sheep and riding goats wandered over to the pen where the sheep once lived, while the Spiritomb swished its tail and made its way to the stable where the Mudsdale lived...
The other Pokemon were also having a jolly time playing and frolicking on the grass, looking utterly content.
Witnessing this scene, Shizuru couldn't help but think to himself, "Indeed, my decision to move here for the winter was spot on."
At noon, Shizuru and his wife had a simple meal before feeding the Pokemon some energy cubes and Bao Fen they had prepared earlier. Then, they left the Pokemon to play in the pasture.
Shizuru and Qi Shu headed to the town to purchase daily necessities.
Although Ohana Town was small, it had a surprisingly comprehensive range of items for sale, likely due to the abundance of nearby farms. Shizuru effortlessly found everything he needed for the farm, including hay forks, watering cans, saws, milking machines, wooden buckets for milk storage, and various crop seeds.
However, other daily necessities were hard to come by in this town.
The couple decided to take a trip to the neighboring Malumalu Island, specifically Haolele City, the largest city in the Alola region. With tourists from all over, it was always bustling, and they were sure to find everything they needed there.
After delivering the purchased goods back to the farm, the couple immediately rode their Gogoat and Pterafly to Malumalu Island.
Haolele City was bustling with tourists from around the world. Shizuru didn't linger and headed straight for the downtown department store, where he began a shopping spree.
He bought items like washing machines, televisions, microwaves, frying pans, juicers, ovens, and bedding. He even purchased a matching set of garden chairs, specifically reserved for Regigigas to enjoy afternoon tea.
As Shizuru walked ahead, a sales assistant followed closely behind, recording his purchases.
A department store of this caliber offered impeccable service. For a small fee, they would ensure the safe delivery of your purchases to your home.
Shizuru, already well-off, opted for the delivery service without hesitation. The destination? The farm on Akala Island.
"We'll start packing and sending these items immediately," the sales assistant noted down the address and politely arranged for the delivery.
Before they knew it, it was already 2:00 PM.
As they walked through the streets, Qi Shu asked, "Shall we head back?"
"Let's go to the beach!" Shizuru suggested with a smile. "You've been wanting to visit a genuine Alolan beach, haven't you?"
"Yay!" Qi Shu was thrilled.
Haolele City was indeed a seaside town, and as they strolled, they could feel the gentle ocean breeze on their faces.
Following the direction of the wind, they soon reached a golden beach. The vast ocean stretched before them, shimmering under the clear blue sky. High above, several long-winged seagulls soared, eventually landing on a tall coconut tree to rest.
The warm sea breeze was delightful, and Shizuru couldn't help but admire the pleasant climate of the Alola region.
Qi Shu's eyes sparkled as she took in the scene.
"How beautiful!" she exclaimed, noticing a stunning sandcastle on the beach. "Wow, who built that castle out of sand? It's so pretty!"
Shizuru glanced at it and sighed, "That's Sandcastle Tyrant."
The Sandcastle Tyrant, sensing their presence, immediately turned and scurried away.
"Hey, let's build a sandcastle too!" Qi Shu's eyes lit up, her playful and mischievous nature resurfacing.
Shizuru thought to himself that this was a child's game, perhaps more suitable for Xiaoshu, but seeing Qi Shu's enthusiasm, he didn't voice this thought. Instead, he said, "Do you know? You look exactly like you did when I first met you—playful and full of energy."
Qi Shu understood his meaning and laughed, "People change, you know? And my mom always tells me to be more mature and sensible, so I've been trying to be a gentle and understanding mother..."
"And how does it feel?" Shizuru raised an eyebrow, curious.
Qi Shu was about to say it was great, but seeing Shizuru's expression, she quickly changed her answer, "It's exhausting..."
Shizuru sighed, "You don't need to change for anyone. I love you just the way you are."
Qi Shu's eyes lit up, as if she had an idea, "Really?"
Shizuru had a sudden bad feeling, "What are you up to?"
Qi Shu giggled and leaned in, whispering something in his ear.
Shizuru's face immediately turned red, and he took a step back, "The Pokemon are still here!"
Qi Shu, however, maintained her playful smile. She looked at Gogoat, who was watching them in confusion, and invited him, "Gogoat, let's build a sandcastle together!"
...
The couple didn't stay at the beach for long, as they had a group of Pokemon and Xiaoshu waiting for them back home.
And so, after building an ugly sandcastle with Qi Shu and Gogoat, the two began their journey back to Akala Island.
At 3 pm, Shizuru returned to the ranch.
The items he purchased from the department store had been delivered by a few Machoke.
After installing and testing the appliances, the Machoke workers left.
Shizuru then started organizing the bedding and mattresses in the house. After making the beds, he placed the garden chairs in a corner of the ranch.
Regigigas floated nearby, watching Shizuru's efforts with a smile.
"There, now you can have tea here. We'll stay for three months, and by next spring, we'll return to the ranch," Shizuru said.
Regigigas nodded slightly, "I like it here."
A smile appeared on Shizuru's face, "That's great!"
In the evening, Qi Shu prepared a simple dinner using ingredients he bought from Ohana Town.
After dinner, the two settled the Pokemon in the ranch and went to bed early.
They had spent the day tidying up, and the ranch finally felt like home.
The next morning, the sun shone brightly, and the weather was excellent.
With most of the work done, it was time to enjoy life and spend the cold winter here.
However, Shizuru, who had always been a ranch owner, couldn't stay idle.
After breakfast, he took out the crop seeds he had bought in Ohana Town, intending to cultivate the abandoned fields and plant crops.
First, it was a waste to leave the fields unused, and second, Shizuru wanted to grow some tropical fruits and vegetables for himself.
With these unfamiliar ingredients, he might even create some magical dishes that would help a certain Pokemon in the ranch evolve.
Shizuru called upon Tridactyl, asking it to help plow the land.
"Chirp!"
Tridactyl chirped in response and immediately burrowed into the soil. A bump formed on the ground, and then it started moving.
The once hard and compact soil quickly became loose and soft under Tridactyl's power.
Once the entire field was plowed, Shizuru took out the seeds he had prepared.
At that moment, his sister, the Caretaker, used her psychic powers to help Xiaoshu float over.
"Dad!"
Shizuru turned around and smiled, asking, "How did you get here?"
"Hug!" Xiaoshu mumbled.
"Dad's planting," Shizuru said, but he still held Xiaoshu in his arms and looked at his sister, "I'll take care of this; you go and rest!"
"Ai~"
Shizuru put Xiaoshu down and let her lean against him. As he took out the seeds, he asked, "Do you want to help Dad plant?"
Xiaoshu cheered, "Aba!"
Shizuru: "...This silly girl."
"Come, Dad will teach you how to plant."
Shizuru held Xiaoshu's hand and guided her to take a seed from the bag.
"First, dig a hole in the field, making sure it's deep enough. Then, drop the seed in and cover it with soil."
"Next, ask your Grass-Type Pokemon to help with their Grass Energy, nurturing and caring for the buried seeds."
Shizuru looked at the Riding Goat and nodded.
One of the Riding Goats stepped forward, and the next second, a dense green light burst from its body, pouring into the spot where Shizuru had just planted the seeds.
Then, something magical happened.
A tender seedling suddenly sprouted from the ground.
"Look, the seed has germinated!" Shizuru said with a smile.
Xiaoshu's eyes were fixed on the seed, and she suddenly started clapping excitedly.
"This is just the beginning!" Shizuru continued, "Watch carefully, and don't blink!"
As the Riding Goat's Grass Energy continued to flow in, the seedling seemed to sense something and began to grow at a visible speed.
Its branches extended and thickened, reaching a height of fifteen meters. At the top, large, lush leaves sprouted, and among them hung a cluster of big, ripe fruit.
A coconut tree had grown!
"Wow!"
Xiaoshu was captivated by this scene, gazing upwards as if astonished by the magic before her.
Shizuru smiled and pinched her cheek gently, "Look, the tree has grown. Aren't Pokemon amazing?"
Meanwhile, in a corner of Akala Island.
A Pokemon with a black upper body, deep pink tentacle-like hair, and a pink shell on its lower body and head seemed to sense something and turned abruptly, looking in a certain direction.
It had felt a... natural energy?
Such dense natural energy!
It was an energy that Capulettia had never felt before.
What was happening? Capulettia was perplexed.
