Chapter 625: Uncontainable Rage
Chapter 625: Uncontainable Rage
King Krayen Oger.
The man who sacrificed everything to awaken his people—Kuro naturally remembered him.
"That kind of Evil and cowardly nation only brings shame. I feel deep humiliation. In such a place, one cannot attain Honor."
Russell swung his Longsword, his voice rumbling, "To attain Honor, we must fulfill the holy maidenofficer's wish. Only then can this world be saved—a world where everyone can earn Honor."
"Tsk", Kuro clicked his tongue, "You really want to stop Old Man?"
Russell stretched out his hand. Suddenly, the long-eared donkey's ears expanded, transforming into a pocket-like pouch. He rummaged inside, then pulled out a long spear. Gripping it tightly, he assumed a throwing stance. "Though you're strong, I won't fear you. For the holy maidenofficer's wish, I cannot let you approach her!"
"Another one?"
Kuro arched an eyebrow but paid it little mind. He had no interest in this man—right now, he wanted to find the holy maiden.
This fellow's long spear force felt somewhat familiar, like the ones he'd faced in Krayen Kingdom, though weaker in power.
As Kuro prepared to accelerate toward the mountaintop, he suddenly froze. The aura he'd sensed there vanished completely.
"Gone?"
His red-glowing eyes darkened. Activating his Observation Haki, he detected those auras reappearing near the original Grande Port.
"Don't lose focus while fighting me!!"
Whoosh!
A wisp of white light shot forth, aiming straight for Kuro's face.
The projectile struck Kuro head-on, passing through him as his figure rippled like water in the air.
Hiss!
The next instant, a sound of steel slicing flesh erupted from Russell's back.
Russell stiffened, blood spurting from his wound as he collapsed into the snow.
"I remember now—Glory Knights, right? The pirate with a one-hundred-million bounty."
Kuro sheathed Autumn Water, his tone indifferent. "See? I didn't kill you earlier, didn't I? You could've escaped safely. Why insist on blocking me?"
Without glancing at Russell, he turned to descend the mountain. The blizzard still raged.
"You... won't... leave."
A voice rasped from behind.
Kuro's pupils flickered. He halted, not turning around but his expression shifting to pure shock. "You, of all people, have this kind of willpower? Truly terrifying."
The figure behind him slowly rose, leaning on the long-eared donkey, sword clutched in one trembling hand. Though his body swayed, he finally stood firm.
"For the holy maidenofficer's wish... you cannot leave."
Russell tightened his grip on the Longsword, pointing it at Kuro. "Even if it costs my life, I will stop you!"
Closing his eyes, he murmured, "Forgive me, holy maidenofficer. I must use this strength now."
Amidst the snow and ice, sparks began rising from his body.
"Russell! Don't resist! We can't fight a pirate!"
"Russell! Surrender quickly! Pirates only want our wealth, they won't harm us!"
"Russell... Russell..."
Memories of Krayen Kingdom flashed through his mind.
"Why... can't I resist?"
The sparks thickened. Russell's entire form seemed ablaze, yet the flames resembled smoldering embers, only scattering sparks.
"I can resist! It was Krayen's refusal to fight that was the true crime!!"
His eyes snapped open, crimson and burning. His hoarse voice merged into a chorus, "Crime must be redeemed!"
Swinging his Longsword, he encased it in embers. The blade expanded by more than a third.
Reaching into the donkey's ear-pouch again, he drew another long spear, its surface crackling with sparks.
"Rage's Form!!"
A chorus of voices erupted from Russell.
In the white world, now stained black and crimson, Russell surged toward Kuro like a falling meteor, crossing his Longsword and spear in a crushing strike.
Clang!!
Black Blade intercepted both weapons. A shockwave erupted from their clash, scattering snow in all directions.
Kuro stepped back, sighing, "This is troublesome. His strength is actually slightly stronger than mine. Hey, be careful—if this causes an avalanche, everyone on the island will die."
"Stop him!"
Russell's crimson eyes spat sparks. Baring his teeth, he roared like a beast and lunged.
Kuro sidestepped, dodging effortlessly. Russell's strike missing, he spun his weapons and attacked again.
"Why so enraged? You're a pirate—what's your reason for this rage? Look, I'm not angry at all. I just..."
As Russell charged again, Kuro tilted his blade. His form ghosted through Russell's attack, slicing his chest.
"...wanted to cut someone."
Hiss!!
The strike pierced Russell's chest. Staggering, he finally collapsed into the snow.
"Stop..."
Russell reached out, trying to attack again, but the deep wound robbed him of strength. His arm fell as the sparks on his body faded.
His eyes gradually cleared, tears spilling as his head tilted sideways—despair and helplessness after hope's destruction.
"Why?"
He looked at Kuro. "If the world is saved, no one will be bullied. Everyone can live in harmony. Why do you oppose the holy maidenofficer's wish? You know Krayen's truth—you should know Krayen Kingdom's irredeemable reality!"
"Stop joking."
Kuro flicked his blade, splattering blood onto the snow, the crimson glaringly vivid.
"Conflict exists in every world. Making people become vegetarian Buddhists, forcing repentance—how absurd! If that could save the world, there'd be no need for our Navy... or your pirates."
Sheathing Autumn Water, he added, "One last thing—your Kingdom? Your King saved it with his life."
"Oger?!"
Russell's eyes widened. "Impossible! Oger would never—"
"You're dying. Why lie to you?"
Kuro pulled out a cigar, lit it, and exhaled smoke. "Tell me... can you finally rein in that uncontainable rage of yours?"
