Chapter 624: Twin Sisters? (Second Update)
Chapter 624: Twin Sisters? (Second Update)
"This, it really does look like it!"
After a relaxed Potions class, Harry told Ron, Hermione, and Jerry about the new professor who looked exactly like his mother.
At first, Ron and Hermione didn't believe it. They thought it might just be some similarities, like the nose, eyes, or hair.
There are many people in the world who look similar, but to be identical, even among twins, is quite rare.
It wasn't until Harry returned to the dormitory and showed them the photo album that they realized it was almost a perfect match.
This couldn't be described as just a normal resemblance.
"Harry, could Professor Foster be your mother's twin sister or something?"
Ron, looking at the photo of Harry's mother, couldn't resist speculating.
Harry shook his head:
"But my mother has a sister, you forgot, that annoying aunt of mine. However, she doesn't look anything like my mother."
"Your aunt is several years older than your mother. I'm talking about twins, like George and Fred. They look exactly the same, even their mother can't tell them apart."
Ron used his twin brothers as an example.
Besides twins, he found it hard to believe that there could be such a similar person in the world.
But Hermione immediately interrupted their speculation:
"It's impossible. You forgot, Professor Foster is from America, and she said it's her first time in Britain. How could she be Harry's mother's twin?"
"But they are about the same age, and they both have the same name, Lily. That's too much of a coincidence!"
Ron countered.
"Hermione paused, thinking about it. Professor Foster said she was thirty-four this year, and if Harry's mother hadn't died, she would also be thirty-four this year.
It wasn't just the resemblance; the age and the name were the same. It was hard not to think they were twins.
"Why don't we just ask her? Look, Professor Foster is right there."
Jerry, seeing the three of them guessing back and forth, pointed to Professor Foster, who was walking towards the Great Hall with Snape.
He knew that with a face identical to Lily, not just Professor Snape but all the professors and people who knew Lily would be surprised.
But that wasn't a problem.
There was no evidence to prove any connection between Foster and Lily. Jerry had created Foster and sent her to America, where all of her memories were formed.
Unless someone used Harry's and Foster's hair to do a blood test, there was no way to confirm their blood relation. However, witches and wizards would never use Muggle technology for such a test; they probably didn't even know such methods existed.
Even if it were confirmed that Harry and Foster were related, it wouldn't be a big issue. At worst, people would think Foster was Lily's twin sister.
Foster had no memories before the age of eleven, and Lily's parents had long since passed away.
No one would ever guess that Jerry had traveled back twenty-three years, used Lily's hair to clone her, and let her grow up freely to the present day.
So, Jerry wasn't worried about anyone questioning Foster.
Speaking of which, if we were to be precise, Lily Foster's father should be Jerry, since he created her.
But that would make the relationship too complicated.
Seeing Professor Foster in the corridor, Harry hesitated for a moment but finally decided to approach her with the photo album.
Harry’s academic performance may not be stellar, but his courage certainly surpasses that of many of his peers.
Even with Professor Snape standing right next to Professor Foster, Harry still mustered the courage to approach and ask a question.
"Let’s go, we can ask and then have dinner."
Jerry saw this and pulled Hermione along, saying to Ron, "Let’s go with them."
They ran up to Harry, who had positioned himself in front of Foster and Snape.
Seeing Harry, Snape’s brow furrowed.
"Potter, what do you want?"
Every time he saw Harry, Snape was reminded of James, and his good mood would instantly vanish. Even as headmaster, he couldn’t change this deep-seated feeling.
"Headmaster, I’m not here to see you. I want to ask Professor Foster something."
Seeing Snape’s expressionless face, Harry’s heart raced, but he maintained a calm demeanor, even lifting his chin slightly.
Over the past four years, though he had been singled out by Snape, Harry refused to back down.
Snape was about to scold Harry when he noticed Jerry and Hermione following behind. His expression softened instantly.
At that moment, Foster seemed to sense the situation and smiled at Snape.
"Head over to the Great Hall first and order me a fish and chips."
Foster had a pretty good idea why Harry was there.
Ever since the interview, every Hogwarts professor who had seen her had almost fallen off their chairs, though not as dramatically as Snape.
Deputy Headmistress Professor Mcgonagall, Ravenclaw Head Professor Flitwick, Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Lupin, and even the recently retired Dumbledore had all been equally stunned.
That’s when Foster realized Snape wasn’t exaggerating; she really did bear a striking resemblance to a witch Snape knew, and this witch seemed to be quite famous.
So, she took the time to learn more about this witch from Snape.
Honestly, when she saw the photo Snape showed her, she was shocked too. Besides marveling at the uncanny resemblance, she had another thought: could she be related to this witch named Lily Evans?
The same face, the same name, the same age—she knew she had been abandoned, and her current parents were adoptive.
So, a few days before the start of the term, she visited the home of Lily Evans’ muggle sister, Petunia Evans, to learn more.
The result was clear: Petunia’s parents only had two children, and there was no record of twins. However, her visit had frightened Petunia and her husband half to death.
Therefore, when she saw Harry, the son of Lily Evans, she naturally guessed his confusion.
During class, she had noticed this boy staring at her the entire time.
Snape hesitated for a moment but then nodded and headed to the Great Hall.
Even though he knew Foster wasn’t Lily, he couldn’t refuse her for some reason.
Besides, he knew what Harry wanted to ask, as he had accompanied Foster on her visit to the Dursleys.
