Chapter 62: Unjust Siege
Chapter 62: Unjust Siege
Jerry had become well-known in Queens due to his involvement in the fire rescue incident.
However, he was still not very famous throughout New York, and even less so across the entire country and the world.
Therefore, General Ross, who had been tracking Dr. Banner, and Dr. Banner, who had been on the run, had never heard of "Wizard."
"He's called Wizard, a superhero who frequently appears in Queens. He uses some incredible abilities to fight crime and save people in distress!"
At that moment, a S.H.I.E.L.D. logistics agent assisting General Ross slowly relayed Jerry's information.
"Can he handle that giant?"
General Ross watched the small screen, where Jerry was circling the Abomination and firing blue magic beams, a worried expression crossing his face.
"From what we can see, it seems he can only temporarily hold it off!"
After observing for a while and seeing that the Abomination was completely unharmed by Jerry's magic, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent furrowed his brow.
"Call in all the troops!"
Hearing the agent's assessment, General Ross took a deep breath. Even if they managed to subdue the monster, Broadway would likely be devastated, and he would be held responsible.
"Let me go down there!"
Dr. Banner said firmly.
He knew that if the creature was as powerful as the Hulk, the army's weapons would be useless and would only result in more deaths. Only the Hulk could defeat it!
"What are you talking about?"
Dr. Betty was immediately alarmed. In her view, Banner had taken the antidote and was likely back to normal. Going down there now would be suicide.
However, Dr. Banner had a hunch that the Hulk hadn't disappeared. If he encountered danger, the Hulk would still emerge.
Seeing the Abomination push Jerry aside and charge towards the fleeing crowd on the small screen, General Ross finally ordered the helicopter's door to open.
Dr. Banner, after saying his goodbyes to Dr. Betty, leaped out.
This leap was a risky one, but he had to take it. He felt responsible for what was happening. If he hadn't agreed to General Ross's experiment years ago, none of this would have occurred.
"Damn, what's going on!"
Just as Jerry was about to catch up to the Abomination and attack, he saw a figure plummet from a high-flying armed helicopter. Shocked, he immediately pulled back.
He had assumed the military had sent some formidable reinforcement, but the figure didn't land gracefully. Instead, it crashed into the ground.
"???"
Similarly, the Abomination was taken aback by the unexpected situation.
Before it could react, a familiar roar echoed from the ground:
"Hulk!"
Then, a green giant, not much smaller than the Abomination, burst out of the ground, breaking through the stones that had buried him.
"Hulk, I've been waiting for you! Let's settle this once and for all!"
The Abomination's eyes lit up with excitement upon seeing the Hulk. He ignored the insignificant humans and the persistent fly in the sky, charging towards the Hulk.
The Hulk, still a bit dazed from the high fall, shook his head and let out a roar before charging at the Abomination.
"So green, this must be the real Hulk!"
Seeing a heavyweight ally finally appear, Jerry felt a significant relief.
With his current Magic prowess, taking on the giant yellow monster alone was still extremely challenging. One misstep and he could be squashed into a meat paste.
However, his relief was short-lived. He soon saw Hulk being violently slammed away in a fierce clash with Abomination, quickly falling into a disadvantageous position.
It turned out that Dr. Samuel's antidote, while not completely eliminating Hulk, had suppressed his strength. Although Hulk had successfully awakened, he was not at his peak.
"Quick, help him with the machine gun?"
At that moment, General Ross, aboard the helicopter, urgently ordered the soldier operating the heavy machine gun.
"Help which one?"
The soldier, puzzled, looked at the two massive figures battling.
General Ross smacked his head:
"Of course, the green guy! Who else? Shoot the other one to pieces!"
"Ross!"
Feeling the barrage of bullets from above, Abomination let out a roar and leaped onto the wall of a nearby building, scrambling to the rooftop like a gorilla.
He then launched himself at the armed helicopter.
Due to Abomination's incredible speed, the helicopter couldn't ascend in time and was caught by the edge of the hatch. With one swift move, he crushed the machine gun into scrap metal.
Just as he was about to reach into the cockpit to attack General Ross and the others, Hulk, having reacted, leaped up and grabbed Abomination's ankle, pulling with all his might to drag him off the helicopter.
The weight and struggle of the two giants caused the armed helicopter to start swaying uncontrollably.
Seeing the helicopter in danger of colliding with a nearby building, a small figure suddenly appeared beside it—Jerry, riding his flying broom.
"I called you to come up, but you didn't. Now you're here, I think you should go down! Stupefy!"
Jerry pointed his wand, and a Magic beam shot directly at Abomination, who was unable to dodge or find cover, knocking him unconscious.
Although the sleeping charm only affected Abomination for two seconds, it was more than enough.
During those two seconds of unconsciousness, Abomination's arm, which had been gripping the edge of the cockpit, went limp. Under Hulk's force, both giants plummeted to the ground.
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
Free from Abomination, Jerry quickly cast a levitation charm at the tilting helicopter, stabilizing it temporarily.
The pilot, clearly an elite soldier, immediately executed a series of intricate maneuvers, restoring the helicopter to a normal state.
"Fly higher, it's too dangerous. I'll go down and help!"
Seeing the helicopter was safe, Jerry shouted to General Ross and the others in the cockpit before riding his flying broom toward the two giants fighting below.
Although his Magic couldn't harm Abomination, he could still provide valuable support.
Abomination was now slightly overpowering Hulk, but only marginally. Trying to defend against Jerry's Magic on top of that would be far from easy.
