Chapter 613: The Dispute
Chapter 613: The Dispute
The next day, the family set off for the city in their jeep and tractor.
Zhao Chenglei and Jiang Xia were heading to the city for three reasons: to deliver the safe to the relevant department, to meet with Zhang Rong and check out the garment factory, and to finalize the seafood market stalls they had previously purchased.
Tian Caifua, Zhou Chengxin, Zhou Fu, and Zhou Mu were going to inspect the stalls.
Zhou Chengsen also tagged along, and both Jiang Xia and Zhao Chenglei suggested he buy one or two stalls. Jiang Xia felt that among the three brothers, only Zhou Chengsen hadn't bought a stall, so she thought it would be wise to encourage him, as it was a surefire investment. Whether he bought one or not was ultimately his decision.
Zhou Fu, confident in the judgment of Wangcai, said, "Chengsen, you should buy one too. In the future, you can rent it out. The money you put in the bank is just sitting there, but if you buy a stall, you'll earn rent, which is better than the bank's interest, right?"
Zhou Fu was pleased that the three brothers planned to buy a large fishing boat for deep-sea fishing. He intended to contribute 30,000 yuan as a down payment, with each brother putting in 10,000 yuan.
If his savings increased by the time the boat was delivered, he would add more to ease their burden.
"Let's take a look. If it's suitable, I'll buy one", Zhou Chengsen said. One of his strengths was knowing what he wanted and sticking to his principles, but he was also open to advice and appreciated others' kindness.
The children preferred riding in the tractor, where they could play and share snacks in the open bed. Zhou Chengxin drove the tractor, taking them along.
Zhou Mu, Zhou Fu, Tian Caifua, and Zhou Chengsen all rode in the jeep.
Zhou Mu, Zhou Fu, and Tian Caifua each held one of the children.
Whenever the children spoke to them, they responded, and the car was filled with the joyful sounds of their innocent chatter.
Zhou Fu always entertained the children with playful talk, his face never losing its smile, even though it sometimes felt stiff from smiling so much.
The children chattered all the way to the city, and once they arrived, they were given some water to drink. Soon, they fell asleep.
Zhao Chenglei first dropped them off at the seafood market before driving off to deliver the safe.
Jiang Dong had also come, and Jiang Xia and Zhao Chenglei had bought stalls and shops for him. Jiang Father and Jiang Mother had also bought a stall for him.
He had agreed to meet Jiang Xia the previous day to finalize the handover.
Jiang Xia and Tian Caifua first paid the remaining balance.
After the payment, Li Zhihua personally accompanied them to the market to see their stalls and shops.
Jiang Xia and her group were considered big customers, and Li Zhihua, who had the time, decided to show them around. "You've made a good investment. The prices have already gone up."
The seafood market began taking over stalls on National Day.
The stalls didn't need renovation, as the developer had already painted the walls and built the mezzanines. If they planned to sell dried seafood, no further renovation was needed. However, if they intended to sell fresh seafood, they would need to build cold storage and water tanks.
Some stalls in the market were already selling dried fish, but there weren't many buyers. Most people who came to the market were there to take over their stalls.
Tian Caifua, looking at the vast, nearly empty market, felt a bit desolate. "This place is so quiet."
Zhou Fu: "It's still not open for business, of course it's quiet. Once all the stalls are up and running, it won't be so quiet. A market is like a large bazaar with a roof; it will definitely be bustling with people."
Zhou Guohua shared similar thoughts. He arrived on his motorcycle with Wenwan.
After surveying the area, he said, "This market is so desolate. Will anyone really come here? Wouldn't people buy seafood at the dock instead?"
"The market isn’t just for seafood", Wen Wan said, knowing the seafood market here was open for business. She called Zhou Guohua over to buy some, since their children were in the Icu, and staying at the hospital would just be sitting around, unable to do anything for them.
As Wen Wan finished speaking, she spotted Jiang Xia’s family, though they hadn’t noticed her and Zhou Guohua.
Wen Wan pointed at the Zhou family. "See them? The neighbors are shopping here too! Let’s go over! They must have a salesperson with them."
She was determined not to let Jiang Xia buy the good stall she had her eye on!
Wen Wan pulled Zhou Guohua and hurried over.
Li Zhihua, after hearing what Tian Caifua and Zhou Fu had said, laughed and explained, "Haha, Uncle is right! Plus, this market is open every day, making it convenient for residents to buy groceries daily. It’s also pretty clean. On November 1st, the market management will host a grand opening ceremony to attract customers. If you’re planning to use your stalls or shops for business, consider opening by November 1st. Trust me, you won’t regret buying now. Prices have already gone up."
Tian Caifua immediately asked, "How much have they risen?"
"Right now, the cheapest is 2,800. The stalls you bought have already gone up to 3,000 to 3,500 each. You’re already making a profit."
Jiang Xia wasn’t worried about the market not thriving. She asked, "Are there any good stalls left?"
"All the stalls in this market are good. The ones left are mostly in the back, but they’re a bit cheaper. People visiting the market will walk around and check out which stalls have the best and cheapest items, right?"
Zhou Mu said, "But the stalls near the entrance will definitely do the best business and sell the fastest."
"Of course, but the market gets a similar number of customers every day. As long as your products are good and your prices are reasonable, people will remember your stall and you personally! If you do well, you’ll have a lot of regular customers. Location isn’t everything."
Zhou Chengsen said, "Let’s see what stalls are available."
Li Zhihua took them to look. The remaining stalls were indeed in the back, with the most in the center of the market.
Tian Caifua looked around and walked to a certain spot. "This one is the closest to the entrance."
Zhou Chengsen glanced at it but wasn’t satisfied.
Zhou Fu, holding his elder brother, asked Jiang Xia, "Xia, which one do you think is better?"
Jiang Xia believed that no matter which stall they bought, they would make a profit in the future.
Wages weren’t rising as fast as the price of these stalls.
However, since they were buying, they might as well choose the best location possible.
Jiang Xia stood by a corridor, looking at the signs hanging above and asked Li Zhihua, "The left side is for vegetables and fruits, and the right side is for meats?"
"Right. That’s how it’s divided. These signs were just put up a few days ago."
Jiang Xia asked, "No one has bought the stalls in the middle of these two rows?"
"Not exactly. The stalls at the ends of the corridor are already sold. Only the middle ones are still available." Li Zhihua pointed out which ones had been sold. "Actually, I don’t think the middle ones are a bad deal. Look, there’s a corridor here. The left side sells vegetables and fruits, and the right side sells meats. After buying vegetables on the left, people will naturally walk over to the right to buy some meat. They won’t want to walk all the way back, so they’ll buy from these stalls. It’s very convenient, right? Plus, these stalls are cheaper! If you want them, I’ll give them to you for 2,600 each."
Jiang Xia thought the same thing and asked Zhou Chengsen, "Second Brother, what do you think?"
Zhou Chengsen agreed with Jiang Xia and thought the stalls in the middle of the corridor were better. He chose one in the meat and vegetable area, on the left side of the cross-section. "How about this one?"
Jiang Xia nodded. "This one works!"
Suddenly, a voice interrupted, "We want this one!"
Everyone turned to see who had spoken.
Wen Wan said to Li Zhihua, "Comrade, are you the salesperson for this market? I want this stall! I’ll pay 2,500 right now."
