Chapter 613: Flashy
Chapter 613: Flashy
As Klah caught the strike, his feet instinctively slid backward a step.
This alone revealed the pirate's immense strength—like a ninth-life villain incarnate.
But—
"Fishman Karate!"
Adjusting his glasses, Klah's arm shot out like lightning. A single finger pierced Maurice's chest, erupting in a crimson mist.
"Ugh!"
Unprepared for the attack, Maurice screamed as the Fishman Karate tore through his torso, collapsing him to the ground. The blow had pierced straight through his heart.
"A hundred-million-Beri pirate, so reckless. But his physical resilience is impressive", Klah muttered, launching a foot into a Calm Step blur, delivering another crushing stomp to Maurice's chest before pinning him down.
Maurice convulsed violently under the kick, finally falling silent. Against someone relying purely on physical constitution, a single Fishman Karate strike wouldn't suffice. More finishing blows were needed.
"Black Wolf! That's Black Wolf, captain!"
Seeing this, Hood's cold sweat poured as he ignored his left arm's pain, shouting, "Black Wolf and White Whale! That's 'Colossal Shield' and 'Big Gun'! These people are Golden Lion's subordinates!"
"I'm White Butterfly, you idiot! White Whale? White your face!" Lida snapped, her expression darkening.
This only solidified Hood's certainty. Staring at Kuro's back, he trembled, "Golden Lion! This ship belongs to Golden Lion!"
"Golden Lion?!"
Jestan froze, then yanked his blade from his back. Eight slender swords slipped between his fingers, two gripped in his hands, his eyes brimming with deep wariness.
Golden Lion?! The man who defeated Lucius and Buggy the Clown, rumored to have bested Shanks and fought Big Mom to a standstill—was this legendary Navy on this ship?!
Hood never made mistakes. He'd always been sensitive to intelligence gathering. So this meant the Navy executing this pirate-attracting plan was indeed Golden Lion!
"What a joke!" Jestan roared, "What's a great Navy doing executing such despicable plans in Paradise?! Or is this Navy's true nature—so vile?!"
Kuro's departing steps halted. Turning his head, he fixed Jestan with a cold stare, "Ten Sword Style? Flashy. Old Man became Navy, you became pirate. Why should we explain our methods to a pirate?"
"Damn you!!"
Jestan bellowed, sprinting toward the ship's edge. He was confident, not foolish. Golden Lion and his subordinates were all here. Now only he and his first mate remained—no way to fight back. If he'd known this ship carried such threats earlier, he'd never have dared target this Golden Ship. The Navy was despicable, using such underhanded schemes!
He wouldn't let these Navy scum succeed!
"Majia Majia!"
As Jestan prepared to flee, a thunderous shout erupted beside him.
Binz casually tossed several Seeds onto the deck. Twisting his body, the Seeds instantly sprouted into thick vines racing toward Jestan and Hood.
Clang!
Jestan's ten blades slashed furiously at the vines, but instead of slicing through, his swords struck like iron, sparking against the unnaturally hardened plants.
"Impossible! It's just plant matter!"
Jestan rapidly retreated toward the ship's edge. Without Devil Fruit powers, jumping into the sea would make him untouchable.
"Not so fast."
A crisp voice rang out from behind. Startled, Jestan turned to see a blue-haired female Navy officer materialize, her hand reaching toward him.
Jestan's eyes hardened. Five blades slashed downward—aiming to sever her arm!
Ai En didn't flinch. A purple glow erupted from her hand, tapping Jestan's body twice.
"Regress."
Deng! Jestan's body locked rigid.
Clatter! His weapons dropped.
His form shrank, transforming into a ten-year-old child, bewildered and confused.
Ai En's hand radiated purple light, "I'm the Reverse Human who ate the Reverse Fruit. One touch regresses targets twelve years. Two touches—twenty-four. You probably won't survive a third..."
"Ai En, don't hesitate. No pirate survives on my ship", Kuro interjected coldly.
Ai En hesitated, then reached out again.
Plop.
Jestan's clothes remained. Nothing else.
"Captain!"
Hood cried out, his face paling. Scanning the Navy officers, he broke free from the vines' pursuit. Drawing his sword, he charged Lida.
White Whale's reputation was fearsome, but she seemed the weakest. Capturing her as a hostage might force their hands.
His Iaijutsu confidence was absolute. One slash, surprise-kill White Whale, and—
His blade unsheathed in a flash of cold gleam, racing toward Lida who was still eating.
Hiss!!
Suddenly, a wisp of Black Radiance flashed before him.
Instantly, Hood's world spun. Sky, Grand Line, and ship all rotated violently. Then he saw his own headless body spurting blood, and beside it, a figure slowly sheathing their sword.
"You've finally stopped showing off", Kuro remarked, watching the head vanish into the Grand Line, "Though you couldn't read the situation. Using Iaijutsu against me? Don't make me laugh."
Iaijutsu? He knew it too well. From the first glance, he'd recognized Hood as a skilled practitioner—but only a "skilled" one. Good enough for commoners, but against him, the blade moved slower than a snail. Not boasting, but in this world, no one matched his draw speed. Not even Hawk-Eye.
Kuro exhaled smoke, "Clean this mess. Don't want bloodstains ruining the ship. Check the wreckage—finish any survivors and recover treasures."
"Understood, Kuro Mr.", Klah nodded.
"What a hassle. Klah, next time Old Man wants no interruptions. Not a sound. Handle it yourself if there's noise", Kuro glared, "These past days have been nothing but headaches."
Klah pressed his lips, head bowed, voice subdued, "Yes, Kuro Mr."
What else could he do? When the captain himself had to intervene? If he kept troubling Kuro Mr., the only one suffering would be himself.
Let me catch my breath another day. Come back after fatigue hits, writing feels lifeless. Lords, give me a break to recover my rhythm.
Otherwise, the output just feels off.
