"So... what you're telling me is..." Qiao Yi said, his voice caught somewhere between confusion and curiosity, "you four are actually aliens from a Parallel Universe?"
"Correct", Feng Bu Jue replied with a chuckle. "We're merely borrowing these four bodies temporarily. Once we leave, they'll revert to their original, ordinary selves, with no memory of ever being possessed."
At this point, Feng Bu Jue had already improvised a relatively plausible—and conveniently unverifiable—backstory to explain his identity. He'd also expressed a desire to cooperate with the Resistance Organization.
Qiao Yi and Maya naturally approached his story with skepticism, but overall, they leaned more toward belief than disbelief.
"Fine", Qiao Yi sighed, nodding.
"Fine?" Feng Bu Jue echoed, raising an eyebrow. "You're not even going to ask a few follow-up questions about something this absurd?"
"It doesn't matter", Qiao Yi shrugged. "Even if you're hiding parts of the truth, it's not a big deal."
"Oh?" Feng Bu Jue grinned. "Aren't you worried I might be deceiving or manipulating you?"
"Heh..." Qiao Yi chuckled, raising one hand to count off points on his fingers. "You jumped from a rooftop nearly twenty meters high and walked away unscathed. You casually carried Maya and me back up here. That 'Joker Girl' took down fifteen fully armed Robins in thirty seconds. 'Poison Ivy' memorized the entire city's sewer map in minutes. And you..." He turned his head toward Mushiro Koganei, who was modifying a searchlight nearby. "...summoned a strange little boy out of thin air." Qiao Yi shook his head and shrugged. "With powers like yours, do you really need to resort to deception to use us?"
"Hmm... fair point", Xiao Tan chimed in, nodding sagely.
"You're not helping", Feng Bu Jue shot back, flicking Xiao Tan away. "Go play with your Monster Kingdom Coin."
"Okay..." Xiao Tan actually obeyed, pulling out a Monster Kingdom Coin from his pocket and idly flipping it as he wandered off.
