Chapter 610: A Busy Yet Heartwarming Day
Chapter 610: A Busy Yet Heartwarming Day
June 9th, Sunday.
Since returning to Hoenn, Jinghe's life gradually settled into a routine. His days were filled with teaching at the academy and managing the Flying Cloud Cafe, making his life both busy and fulfilling.
However, his students were not as fortunate.
Although "Pokemon Psychology" was an elective course, Jinghe adhered to the principle of not misleading his students. He made up for the missed classes by delivering an intensive crash course, focusing on efficiency.
The students struggled to keep up with the demanding pace.
Studying Pokemon psychology was indeed exhausting.
Fortunately, the students remained highly focused during class, creating an excellent learning environment. They dared not daydream or doze off, ensuring a productive atmosphere.
In his free time, Jinghe resumed his online Pokemon psychological counseling.
However, things were different now. Numerous people sought his advice, and many were fans who wanted to chat and joke with him, which reduced his efficiency.
Most of Jinghe's time was dedicated to training Pokemon and managing his daily life.
After work, Jinghe, accompanied by Gengue and Salamence, headed to the supermarket. They bought various items and returned home to prepare dinner.
The main course for the evening was Tomato Head Buffalo Tenderloin Rice, along with other dishes like Flame-Grilled Chicken Leg, Scallion Braided Lamb Wrap, Frozen Heart Fish Sashimi, Salt-Baked Slowpoke Noodle, Mousse Fresh Milk Cake, and more.
These dishes might sound extravagant, but they were just common names on restaurant menus in the Pokemon world, not necessarily related to the actual Pokemon.
Hmm.
"Lotom, oven mode."
In the cafe's backyard, Jinghe, wearing an apron, gave the instruction without turning back.
"Understood, Lotom~ Super Transform, oven mode!"
Lotom transformed into an oven, emphasizing the importance of ceremony.
The oven was already filled with prepared ingredients, and all that was left was to control the temperature.
"Brother, I'll cook it medium-rare."
"Ai~"
In addition to Lotom's oven, the Scarlet Armor Knight's "Teppanyaki" was another indispensable cooking tool for Jinghe.
The high temperature combined with the metal armor plate created a mouth-watering aroma with every sizzle.
"Bear Instructor, the beef is almost done. If you keep pounding, it'll turn into mush."
"Hruu~zzZ"
The Bear Instructor pounded the beef, creating a unique flavor.
Jinghe noticed that although the awake Bear Instructor pounded the beef faster, the sleeping Bear Instructor's beef patties had a distinct taste, offering two different textures.
"Ice Nine-Tails, don't over-ice the ice. If it's too cold, the sashimi will freeze solid, making it hard to bite."
"Ow~"
Ice Nine-Tails obediently nodded and gently blew on the ice in front of her, freezing it again after it had started to melt due to the surrounding heat.
The little Pokemon stared at the ice intently, ready to blow on it again if it showed any signs of melting.
She was meticulous, as if the world would collapse if the ice melted.
"Hammer Sister, is the pot fixed? I'm ready to start cooking."
"Chak!"
Giant Forger immediately raised the perfectly repaired pot, showing no signs of its previous damage.
After fixing the pot, Giant Forger turned to work on her own project.
Recently, whenever she had free time, she would start hammering, with the goal of crafting a more durable and sharper blade for Crimson Blade Phantom, although the outcome remained uncertain.
"Yuki, stop! You're almost done with the scallions!" Jinghe bent down to look under the table.
Yuki, with her tiger-like appearance, was holding a few scallions and nibbling on them.
It was rare for a Pokemon like Yuki to enjoy eating scallions. Perhaps, there wasn't another Pokemon in the entire Pokemon world with such a preference.
It seemed that eating more green plants could help Yuki digest faster, allowing her to eat more.
"Yuki."
Yuki looked at the scallions in her hands, feeling reluctant to let go of two.
Eating meat without garlic, the taste of half
Jinghe sighed, comforting himself that Yuki's resistance to grass was probably maxed out.
But speaking of grass-type, Jinghe also thought of his desire to catch a grass-type Pokemon.
Best, is that kind of food demand is low, and even can produce "food" grass-type Pokemon.
Jinghe and his Pokemon, Haunter, are engaged in a battle with various other trainers and their Pokemon. The battle is intense, with moves like Dragon Dance, Shadow Ball, and Earth Power being used. Suddenly, Sharpedo Mega Evolves, adding a dramatic twist to the fight.
Jinghe is considering catching a new Pokemon, the Tropical Dragon, as a mount, but he quickly dismisses the idea, knowing he must be cautious when capturing Pokemon. He sends out his Rapid Dragon, instructing it to borrow some salt from the Salt King for a salt-baked dish. The Rapid Dragon flaps its small wings and flies over to the Salt King, a giant spirit made of salt. The Salt King, having calmed down, obliges and hands over a large chunk of salt to the Rapid Dragon.
Recently, the Salt King has been pondering a philosophical question: If it provides salt from its body to make food, and then consumes that food, is it eating itself? Jinghe notices Gengue, the purple-skinned Gengar, trying to secretly inject poison into the meat. He raises his head and stares at Gengue, who immediately puts his hands behind his back, tilts his head forty-five degrees upwards, and starts whistling. However, he can't help but glance at Jinghe, seemingly checking if he's still being watched. Jinghe shakes his head, remembering the last time this little rascal's curiosity almost led to the entire family being poisoned, depleting his already scarce supply of Pecha Berries.
Gengue, seeing Jinghe's gaze still on him, smirks and obediently sticks out his tongue, producing a scroll. Jinghe instantly recognizes it as the 'Ancestral Cookbook' that Professor Akamatsu from the Blueberry Academy wanted to give him as a 'tribute for apprenticeship.' Jinghe had refused it due to the outrageous recipes inside, but Gengue had secretly taken it.
Gengue spits on his hand and slowly unfurls the scroll, finding a recipe to show Jinghe. The recipe is for 'Pecha Chain Cake,' requiring Poison and Ghost energy as ingredients. Jinghe is baffled, wondering if this is the same cake used to control the Growlithe, the Aipom, and the Fletchling. As he reads further, he notices a note at the end: 'All of the above is speculation, do not attempt lightly.'
Jinghe sighs and says, "Give me the recipe, and don't try these things without good reason in the future." Gengue nods, looking down at his feet, but realizes he can't see them due to his large belly. Jinghe knows that Gengue will recover his spirits soon enough.
In the meantime, a Victini floats in the air, clenching its fists and cheering everyone on. Jinghe wonders if he should share some information. Since Victini joined the team, their already lively group has become even more energetic. Jinghe constantly thinks about how to tire out the Rapid Dragon, as simple laps around the area are no longer sufficient.
A Snubbull, sitting nearby with its arms crossed, lets out a grumpy "Pori!" It is disappointed that the evening concert is canceled again, and the team is more interested in eating. Jinghe asks the Snubbull to help him taste the dish. The Snubbull rolls over and quickly scampers towards Jinghe, eager to help.
In the midst of their activities, a long-absent "guest" arrives. A messenger bird with a bag-like tail flies in, wobbling through the air. Gengue immediately greets the bird, and it lands in the courtyard, waving at Jinghe and the others. Jinghe, busy but happy to see the bird, looks up and smiles, saying, "You came at the right time. Join us for dinner, Messenger Bird." The bird salivates, enticed by the courtyard's aroma.
Jinghe asks his sister, Ai Guan, to bring out the gifts he had prepared. She puts down the garlic she was peeling, wipes her hands on her apron, and retrieves some items from the house, including a CD for Sakaki, a maid dress for Jynx, toys for Electabuzz and Mewtwo, and a gift for the messenger bird. Jinghe explains that these are small souvenirs from the Unova Region.
The CD contains popular music from Unova, offering Sakaki a way to relax after work. The maid dress for Jynx is well-known, as Jynx is quite open-minded.
Jinghe, the trainer, was engaged in an intense Pokemon battle with his team, including Haunter, Larvitar, Frost Ibu, and others. The battle was filled with various techniques and strategies, such as Dragon Dance, Scale Shot, Shadow Ball, and more. Suddenly, Jinghe's Larvitar used a powerful move, causing a dramatic turn of events.
Among the items in Jinghe's bag was a small, transparent glass container with a black crystal inside. The crystal was said to be from the Aether Foundation, and it was related to the creation of Mewtwo by Team Rocket and Team Plasma. Jinghe was surprised by the crystal's connection to these events.
The crystal, which was the size of a thumb, had a mysterious and dangerous aura. Jinghe decided to have Ice Nine-Tails use her Ice Beam to freeze the crystal, ensuring its safety.
As the group gathered around the table, Jinghe removed his apron and received a bowl of beef stew and a glass of tree juice from Lotom. He raised his glass and announced, "Let's begin!"
In the world of Pokemon, Jinghe had experienced various adventures and challenges. The feeling of being together with his Pokemon and friends was irreplaceable.
"Yuki, get off my head!" Jinghe exclaimed. Yuki, the Larvitar, had been perched on Jinghe's head, and now it was time for dinner.
"Arceus, the Salt King, is here!" Yuki exclaimed as it leaped onto the table.
